@@JimmyDrumTech not really lol. I'm just saying how patheticly bad the Yankees offense is nowadays that even this red sox team would beat today's Yankees lineup

This game was incredibly special to me. I was 12 years old visiting my dad for the weekend in his basement apartment, we just set up a new flat screen TV and baseball was back for the season so we were excited to get to watching some baseball. We ordered pizza and next thing we know the Yankees are not doing so great. 9 run deficit didn't really phase us, My dad and I. We were excited to be watching baseball again, but I had so much faith in my Yankees. I remember right before I took a bite of my pizza I looked over at my dad and I told him "Nick Swisher's going to hit a grand slam over the big monster and it's going to bring us back" and I could not believe how right I was. I miss this squad, I miss those days, and I miss my dad. But baseball is forever.
Wonderful memory, I love "Baseball is forever" and I often feel that the Yankees are my best friend, especially after losing my absolute best friend and hero my father. We always had that great connection of conversating about the Yanks. When I watch the Yankees each evening I place a photograph of my father on the chair where he sat when visiting and watching Yankee games with me. In my heart he is there watching with me. Go Yanks!
Notice how the single fathers always live in shitty apartments not made for a family because family courts don’t care if the men can live. The mother is all they care about.
I remember this game. It was on TV on Fox at a birthday party I was at. I looked up at the game and saw that it was 9-0. I thought, ah this one's over. You win some and you lose some I guess. I checked the TV again in the top of the 9th and just wondered how in the world this was possible. They had come all the way back from one of the biggest deficits in MLB history. To this day, I regret not watching the middle of this game and keeping faith throughout. Thank you for bringing back an excellent memory.
I remember it too. Because of the 9-0 lead Fox had switched to the White Sox game where I believe Philip Humber was close to finishing a Perfect Game. That happened and when Fox switched back I heard Joe Buck say something to the change of momentum. Crazy.
Speaking about missing a game. I remember back to '86 Mets vs Braves. Started watching the game with my brother. Had plans to meet some friends and ended up closing our favorite watering hole. Got home 2:30am and coming up the alley way, heard the game and wondered why my brother was watching a replay? Game ended at 3:55 am. This was the year I introduced my older brother to baseball. He was a fan till his death and when I think about him, I remember the times he would bring up my missing a great game. This game is one of my reasons never to do away with extra inning games. ps. I still hate the DH rule. RIP MIKE.
Jared Messersmith Fox actually left this game for most of the country and went to Philip Humber’s perfect game, then returned when Teixeira’s home run to make it 9-8 was leaving the yard, that’s why joe buck says “it’s 9-8 here in Boston”

That’s why joe buck says “a one run game in Boston” because most viewers had left the game when the Yankees were still chipping away and now were returning to a home run to make it 9-8

Yup. And many more followed this one. I’ve been watching Yankee games with my pops and two brothers since I was a kid. Watching the amazing run they went on from ‘96-2003 was the best as a Yankee fan. Playoffs every season, 4 WS titles in 5 appearances, 3 in a row. And again in 2009 when A-rod carried the team into the playoffs on their way to #27. Good old days fr.
@@r0n718 I began watching the Yankees around 1994 when I was only 6 years old. My father had always been a Yankees fan and he got me into them. After I watched them win in 1996, my love for them grew stronger and stronger. Many of us were blessed to have watched them win in 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000. And boy what a time it was to be a Yankees fan in the late 90s. The current 2022 roster could be viewed as the best put Yankees team ever and rightfully so, but I’ll go to my grave thinking the 1998 juggernaut that won 114 games was by far the best Yankees team I’ve ever seen in my 34 years of life. "Swisher, latest addition to the Yankees was brought up yesterday from the Marklesburg, Penn. Little League. League officials told the Marklesburg Weekly, "We always thought he was a little big for his age, but his talent was always there! We're very proud of him." "
The best comeback I have ever watched, I kept telling my wife that it was still early and the Red Sox are scoring all their runs early and Yankees can only do damage in the later innings. Of course I didn't believe it but it was amazing to witness.
Fox didn't air the start of the top of the seventh inning, including Swisher's grand slam, live because they switched to the end of Phil Humber's perfect game, which was airing regionally.
I remember this was the year the Giants won the Super Bowl and I legitimately thought the Rangers had a chance at the Stanley Cup and Yankees had a chance with the WS.... good days of NY sports
NO ONE had more pure fun with being a Yankee than Swisher. Dude was the happiest man in sports while there, AND, he got a ring. Meanwhile, Judge turned down 30 mil a year....and he STILL can't pull s fastball. It was easier to appreciate Swisher. Judge is losing dome respect amongst Yank fans with apparent greed.
Never forgot this game nor where I was,,Had to see this sharp Hitting again... All at their Peak.. Loved every second of it. Love My Yankees. here,, and now in 2019,, and Forever..
Even as a Yankees fan, you still gotta tip your cap to the Red Sox for coming back in the '04 ALCS. As much as it pains me, that was a truly phenomenal accomplishment.
Eric M. ...Happy to say that's over with. a positive was everything he learned as. manager, saying you learn things that need fixing during these times. they as a team will fix these things and soon.
I remember watching this game, this was a fun team to watch with Tex, Robbie, Swish, and Grandy. One of the best rivalries in all of sports. Lets go Yankees, lets go!!! RE2PECT.
I was there! My sadness turned to joy as my Bronx Bombers came back to crush the sawx. It was even more enjoyable to see the Bosox fans shut their yaps and sink into a darkness 🤫. It was one of the best birthday presents I could ever have received. ⚾️🧢❤
The only game worse than this was game 6 of the 86 World Series. 5-3 with two outs in the bottom of the 10th and they lost 6-5. This game with the Yankees (for a Boston fan) most have been painful.
I watched this game with my dad as a teenager. He explained that when unselfish play, teamwork, passion, and determination all come together for a brief moment in time, this is what it looks like. He asked me, after swisher's HR when they showed Jeter's face, Swisher batting his chest like the king of the jungle and then watching Jeter run out a weak infield ball when they were already up 14-9, he says "You feel that kiddo? It's the greatest feeling in the world, doesnt happen very often, so enjoy it when it does and make your own magic in life." Its been 12 years since that day and I miss you Dad, we all do very much.
I have watched this numerous times, and decided that your choice of underlying music to set and build the dramatic tone for this video is simply spot-on.
It's a combination of songs from Michael R.T. and Mountains On Fire. You can find more at michaelrtmusic.bandcamp.com/ and mountainsonfire.bandcamp.com/music
Baseball Cinema- I agree with everyone commenting on the video. I didn't expect to see highlights of a game so well edited with an outstanding selection of music on CZcams. Good job, I'm impressed!
I remember being 13 watching this game in my grandparents living room. Grandfather was a diehard tiger fan while my dad and I were Yankee fans. God I remember cheering in that living room as Tex's 3 run blast cleared the wall. Never missed a Yankee red Sox game because there was almost always gonna be some thing special when they played
Nick Swisher will forever be my favorite player of all time. He was so fun too watch. He enjoyed the game very much. I wish he still played. But all things must come to an end. This is a great video!
A baseball fan for 50 years, I recall watching this game and it was the first time I watched such a massive blowout, but when the Yanks rally began in the 6th, I just knew they would come all the way back to win.

Fun fact about Nick Swisher he alwayesd glanced up to think about his grandmother before every at bat
That's sweet.
I always wondered why he did that...that's pretty dope
"Swisher, latest addition to the Yankees was brought up yesterday from the Marklesburg, Penn. Little League. League officials told the Marklesburg Weekly, "We always thought he was a little big for his age, but his talent was always there! We're very proud of him." "
The best comeback I have ever watched, I kept telling my wife that it was still early and the Red Sox are scoring all their runs early and Yankees can only do damage in the later innings. Of course I didn't believe it but it was amazing to witness.
Someone has to send this video to The Padres coach, Tatis Jr. did nothing wrong!
Yessir
Jayce Tingler
I don't care what team you were rooting for it doesn't matter. This come back was incredible. Absolutely incredible, angels in the outfield 🤙🏻
I remember this game. It felt like the championship. It was a blast.
Still one of the best comebacks in sports history
Nah.
ALCS 2004 is the best comeback in sports history.
@@juanmanuelsigaranmatos673 that’s another good one
I miss Nick Swisher.
you mean relive nick swisher and mark teixeira historic 9-0 comeback.
grey yancey took the rest of the team getting on for them to drive them in but kinda yes
If the center fielder would have made a better route thats a out.
You're an idiot 🤦🏻♂️
The chills you get watching them score the tying and leading runs is unreal.
man i miss this team, we had teixiera, robbie, jeter, arod, nunez, there was so much good on this team
Fox didn't air the start of the top of the seventh inning, including Swisher's grand slam, live because they switched to the end of Phil Humber's perfect game, which was airing regionally.
Yeah I was kinda bummed about that when editing this game down. But then again, no Buck? No McCarver? It's not that bad lol
Andrew Carrieri But I mean, still
I remember this was the year the Giants won the Super Bowl and I legitimately thought the Rangers had a chance at the Stanley Cup and Yankees had a chance with the WS.... good days of NY sports
Don't remind me about the Rangers
NO ONE had more pure fun with being a Yankee than Swisher. Dude was the happiest man in sports while there, AND, he got a ring. Meanwhile, Judge turned down 30 mil a year....and he STILL can't pull s fastball. It was easier to appreciate Swisher. Judge is losing dome respect amongst Yank fans with apparent greed.
🤔TRUTH??????
Always a pleasure coming back to this from time to time. Looking back we had it good as Yankee fans, what a lineup.
Never forgot this game nor where I was,,Had to see this sharp Hitting again... All at their Peak.. Loved every second of it. Love My Yankees. here,, and now in 2019,, and Forever..
@Lighthouse in the Storm Wow,, But Stormy,,, You got it all wrong,, I Loved it. It was an Earthquake to me. SMOKIN''' HOT!!! LOL
8:38 The heman pound to the chest. The point. The nod from Jeter. A moment never lost in memory.
These are the good ol yanks i miss watching
This is why I will forever be a Yankees fan, moments like these no other franchise has, this group of guys wanted to win like no other
Even as a Yankees fan, you still gotta tip your cap to the Red Sox for coming back in the '04 ALCS. As much as it pains me, that was a truly phenomenal accomplishment.
Xtent Ultra many teams have had moments like this
Xtent Ultra um what I remember is Boston coming back 0-3 on y'all sucking for the last 4 years
Yeah and moments like blowing a 3-0 lead in the ALCS
Hassan Kassem Wonder Who was more Ring?
7 game losing streak so watching this makes me happy
Eric M. ...Happy to say that's over with. a positive was everything he learned as. manager, saying you learn things that need fixing during these times. they as a team will fix these things and soon.
FYI....also back in first place where they belong
I remember watching this game, this was a fun team to watch with Tex, Robbie, Swish, and Grandy. One of the best rivalries in all of sports. Lets go Yankees, lets go!!! RE2PECT.
I was there! My sadness turned to joy as my Bronx Bombers came back to crush the sawx. It was even more enjoyable to see the Bosox fans shut their yaps and sink into a darkness 🤫.
It was one of the best birthday presents I could ever have received. ⚾️🧢❤
just a dude just finished watching all 27 World Series clincher wins 😂
Teixiera rounding the bases in the sixth: "we got one". One inning later: "we got eight". Two innings later: "we got twelve". Awesome Day!
Thank you for uploading this, I remember this game from 5 years ago very well, Go Yanks!!
Happy to help!
Lol this was a day I didn't show up for work because I opted to watch this game instead. Never returned.
Baseball Cinema do you have when the yanks bet Boston 2 - 1 July 5 in 08 Mo gets out of the jam if you don't will you get it
Enjoy Stephen! Happy 4th of July! czcams.com/video/LR8Ex7dYJI4/video.html
Forzano Productions lets go yankees
It never gets old watching this... Missing my Yankees rt now!
2022 they’re back baby
nick swisher was awesome, loved that dude.
I miss him.
@@jacobrichardson1952 same
4:47 oh my god that face lol
If "locked in" had a face, that would be it.
CHEL TV lmao
CHEL TV haha
Penquins are bad
Jonathon Solinski not really baseball related.. 🙄
The only game worse than this was game 6 of the 86 World Series. 5-3 with two outs in the bottom of the 10th and they lost 6-5. This game with the Yankees (for a Boston fan) most have been painful.
Go Mets!
I can watch this 1000x and still smile
I like to watch this now and again, for the music as well, especially that ominous crescendo, just after Tex hits the first run. Trouble brewing!
HERE IS EXACTLY WHY FERNANDO TATIS JR IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT TO HIT THE 3-0 SLAM...THIS IS A GROWN MANS LEAGUE
Yup what I hate most about baseball most of these players are such cry babies when it’s a goddamn professional sport
Thank you Lord for making me a Yankee fan ... back when the only masks were on the catchers
It's the greatest feeling in the world, doesnt happen very often, so enjoy it when it does and make your own magic in life."
Its been 12 years since that day and I miss you Dad, we all do very much.
First ever game at Fenway a day before my 14th birthday, I did not need to relieve this memory :(
I have watched this numerous times, and decided that your choice of underlying music to set and build the dramatic tone for this video is simply spot-on.
Thank you so much!! That means a lot! :)
Is it Sigur Ros?
It's a combination of songs from Michael R.T. and Mountains On Fire. You can find more at michaelrtmusic.bandcamp.com/ and mountainsonfire.bandcamp.com/music
I've said that already but I feel you.
Baseball Cinema- I agree with everyone commenting on the video. I didn't expect to see highlights of a game so well edited with an outstanding selection of music on CZcams. Good job, I'm impressed!
Tex was still such an underrated fielder
It's not getting old no matter how many times I watch it
6:38 nick swisher always been the Yankees best hype man when they needed it most 💯
The red Sox have a historically bad bullpen
Mason Griffith “Mets”
NYRGaming30 how does that haterade taste?
Clausvonclauswitz not hating. Just saying the Mets also have a bad bullpen. I’m a Mets fan
Mason Griffith 2004 and 2007 Sox both had good pens.
The song selection is EVERYTHING!!!!! How great was that?!?!?!?!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Watching in PH Aug. 13, 2020...I love the Yankees. Wow, what a comeback from 0-9 to 14-9💪👍❤
Nick Swisher will forever be my favorite player of all time. He was so fun too watch. He enjoyed the game very much. I wish he still played. But all things must come to an end. This is a great video!
Greatest memories
Thank you for posting it
Let's Go Yankees!!!
A baseball fan for 50 years, I recall watching this game and it was the first time I watched such a massive blowout, but when the Yanks rally began in the 6th, I just knew they would come all the way back to win.
Bro Texeira's eyes when he saw that fastball, cold blooded with the bat. That pitcher will see that face in his nightmares forever lol
This was a great comeback, no doubt, but this Red Sox team was a dysfunctional mess. Valentine was a joke.
insanetrain33 they usually are always dysfunctional.
Valentine *IS* a joke. Not was. Though he has stopped managing, doesn’t mean he stopped being a joke.
Like a wise man once said
“It’s not over till it’s over”
I miss this era of baseball just not the same anymore
Greatest comeback in baseball
