    Just got done convincing my wife to let me buy one of these molds, thanks Mark!!!
    03-08-2020: I recieved the mold in a timely manner on Saturday and went straight to prepping the mold and casting which went really well. Today I tested the cast bullets with my Uberti models of the Remington new model army and 1847 colt walker. The results were definitely interesting. You have provided us a truly universal bullet Thank you again.

    Just got the mold last week. I will be making paper cartridges this weekend. Looks like it’s going to be a great shooting bullet just like the Dragoon.
    Thanks for making these available, greatly appreciated.

    Really getting me into these older weapons and ammo, I've always wanted a SAA or a S&W Russian/Model 3. I like traditional firearms as well but this kind of firearm is growing on me.

    Hello Mr. Hubbs,
    I own a 2017 era Uberti Colt 1860 Army and am looking to either buy one of your .44 Johnston molds, or this English .44 Kerr mold. I would like to use paper combustible cartridges. I was wondering if you had any experience using combustible cartridges on a Uberti 1860 Army and if so, do the .44 Johnston cartridges typically fit without modification? From what I've gathered the Piettas need work, but I was wondering the Ubertis need to be modified as well?
    Thanks!

    • @erasgonehistoricalmolds2400
      @erasgonehistoricalmolds2400  Před 4 lety +1

      Both the Pietta and Uberti will take some work to use paper cartridges, the Pietta much more than the Uberti. If you want to leave your Model 1860 as is, I suggest the .44 Kerr for paper cartridges. You should be able to load those without any modifications. Thanks!

    This may be a silly question as I know you are focused on historic designs. I am wondering what the best bullet to use for home defense in a Taylors and company tommy 1858 new army. My concern is traditional designs over penetrate I want a lead round that will expand and dump energy. Any suggestions ( other than traditional cartridge guns)

      Just try down loading the powder charge a bit. Use a corn meal filler over the reduced powder charge, then seat the ball. If your real careful you can try and put a small mephlat / flat on the nose of the bullet like on a 45 Colt 250 grain bullet.
