Those prices are taking a hit on us too, causing us to re-think our plans. Quite a work crew you have there! So nice to see kids out doing what kids used to do. That building is going to be a great asset to your homestead. Best wishes to you and your family in the New Year!
Yeah it’s ridiculous. Unfortunately it probably won’t get much better here in Florida, they voted to raise the minimum wage to 15 bucks an hour. A hamburger at McDonald’s will probably cost 15 bucks now! I’m definitely thankful for my children, I’m very happy they were eager to take on that task. I would rather pay them then pay for a trencher and it teaches them to work too. Happy new year to you and your family, and thanks for watching!
Big family nice to see everyone doing something to help with the project. Prices are very high the only thing I can think of is the hurricane area is needing all of the supplies
Good job. Even before the pandemic I needed 6ga wire to run from my house to shed, i waited 3 years to find some used on marketplace. I got 125 feet direct bury for $100, it was used but never buried.
I agree sir prices are crazy. Up here in ohio same thing.. nice to see the kids digging away they keep going you will not need to rent anything lol. As always stay safe and god bless you.. please stay healthy i got covid and have been very very sick for the passed 12 days...
Oh man I’m sorry to hear that! My family will be praying for you. We all had it in April 2020 and it was no fun. Thankfully I was the only one other than one child that had any breathing issues. Very grateful I didn’t have to be hospitalized, although I was close. I had made several trips to the doctor. I am 100% against the vaccine, but I will say that the antibody treatment works well. My brother-in-law had it and he was over it and just a few days. It basically gives your body a head start fighting against it the natural way
I have a question for you, since the price of copper wire is ridiculous right now. I was planning to run 2ga aluminum wire to my garage sub panel, 240v. it will be around 150’ from the house to the garage sub panel. It will be buried in the ground, in 1 1/4” sch 40 glue together conduit. Will the aluminum wire be ok? I need 240v out there for my welder and my compressor is a 240v 80 gallon unit. My dad built the garage in the early 80’s and ran power to it back then, Since then one of the feed wires has failed. I tested both legs in the garage and only one has power. There’s a break in the wire between the garage and house.I can pick up 160’ of 2/2/2/4 aluminum for $350. Copper is $1125. I’m a engineer and I’m certified in electrical up to 400v. I’m gonna rent a 36” trencher in the spring so i can bury it, plus it’s easier for me then hand digging it. Thanks for any advice.
I apologize, I just saw your comment! I ran 2-2-4-6 direct burial aluminum wire to my barn and it is 350 feet from my panel at the house. It will be for my workshop equipment and such. It’s rated for 100 A, of course you do have to factor in voltage drop for long distances like that.
We can all thank Joe Biden for our increases. Your video was last year, now in June 2022, things are only even higher if you can find it. The barn looks awesome, I just put up my own pole barn, 30X64 with 16' side walls and a 30x16 mezzanine. Great to see this is a family affair, teach them young. Loved the wire corner routing screwdriver trick, I always use a pull wire, I need to try that!!
Thanks for watching! Yep our politicians sure have run our republic into the ground. It’s sad, I never realized how corrupt our government was until President Trump came along. A 30’x64’ sounds amazing! Ours is 32 x 48 and I wish I would have gone bigger. The good part is these are pretty easy to extend length wise. I couldn’t do what we do without my helpers! We’re trying to teach them right. :-)
Vote Republican for the rich and this is what you get. It takes time for a bill to take affect ,things don't go up or change immediately after a president takes office. I say this because our inflation is Trump's doing not Biden .
I will agree that the stimulus money passed out under Mr. Trump helped contribute to inflation. But Mr. Biden hasn’t helped the situation. I am of the belief that we would all be better off of the government would let us live our lives without interfering, and that goes for both parties. Politicians are corrupt and won’t spend our money as wisely as we will. Thanks for watching!
@@MaynardFamilyHomestead .... Your comment is funny because they are saying Biden's stimulus money contribute to inflation not Trump's. In my opinion it was the Tax brake that Trump gave the rich on the backs of the working man that contribute the most to inflation. I couldn't imagine a country if our Government let us live our lives without interfering , the people are already crazy enough. Our Government needs to listen to the people and do what we want not what they want. Republicans ( while in office) won't give the people nothing not even an extension on unemployment.
I love that the whole Family is helping out with something
They’re a huge blessing!
Having the whole family help is awesome man. great family!
Thank you!

the number one thing I learned from this video is why it is a good idea to start your own race when you have houses and workshops to build.
😎😂
You’re exceptionally fortunate to have four or five assistants.

Yeah it’s insane right now. Sad really…
Make sure to screw your boxes into the studs as well - save you hassle when the boxes loosen after a few years.
Great work .. kids are awesome too!
Thanks!!

@@MaynardFamilyHomestead The anti body treatment does work very well...guess that is why the govt stopped letting us use it.

How much did you spend total? I am looking to wire my 20x40 pole barn, while it wouldn't be the exact same price i'd imagine it is similar price.
I had some stuff already, but I would estimate $500-$700 depending on lighting selections.
@@MaynardFamilyHomestead Definitely beats hiring someone! I was looking at quotes on hiring some different guys and it was about 2-2.5k.
@EliVeach I can't find nobody to help me. I'll keep running this drop cord. Before I pay 1500 for someone to hook up my wiring.
Yeah. This stuff isn't cheap. PVC= OIL!
Where did you get those yellow plastic bushings?
City electric supply, Lowe’s also sells them. They are considered NM bushings.

We live in a free market where businesses decide on what prices they want to charge their customers. If you don't like it, git out, commie.
Are you a Electrician?
Yes sir, I’m a journeyman electrician. I don’t do electrical work full time anymore though, I’ve become a project manager for a custom home builder.

Spoken by a true liberal who has absolutely no idea how economics work...or in the case of Biden...don't work. By the way, who are the "rich"?
This inflation is 1000% on sleepy Joe Bidens hands. worst President in the history of our country.
