she is absolutely correct pls don't waste your time and actually revise along the way because it will become overwhelming if left till the end
Thank you
A bit too late for that…I have mocks tomorrow and I still haven’t started revising
sitting here writing boards struggling bc of this lmao. Im still getting good grades but i just wish i put in more effort. But the thing is you cant just tell students things like this.. You would only realize the importance through experience :)
I haven’t not been revising but in bio and chem I haven’t learned much in grade 9 (I’m taking igcse) it’s summer and I’ve been trying to revise/learn it Ik it’s late but I’m making revision notes for when I take mocks and the real exam
#1, don't be afraid to experiment.
#2, print out your specification.
#3, start early (make notes as your doing that topic)
#4 take time for yourself.
#5 find ways to motivate your self.
#6 print out past papers a lot
#7 don't neglect topics you struggle with.
#8. Treat end of topic tests and mocks like the real deal (revise and practice prepapring for the real exams)
#10 note down your errors
#11 try new things
(Just in case you guys forgot and needed a little note)
your a lifesaver I couldn't watch the whole vid
@@fartunbashir9561 how did ur gcses go??
Ahh I’m scared for my GCSEs, I’m going into year 10 this year 😔 I’ll follow these tips and hope for the best! :)
All I need to work on now is making a revision timetable so I don’t overwhelm myself with work. Thank you so much for this video 💕
Of course! Good luck :)
i found this so helpful! i’ve just gone into year 10 & i’m definitely going to do more past papers now! great video! stay safe! ❤️
So glad it helped!! :) Past papers are honestly the best way to revise!!
Best of luck in your GCSES :)
If only I started revising in year 10🥲
Err we went in Y10 7 months ago 😐
I should catch up
@@blooobbegg1385 are you revising in yr11
This really helped! I'm in yr10 and doing online school in the UK since I haven't been accepted into a school, and thank you this helped alot!
Hi Mira, if you work hard and stay on top of everything, I'm sure you're going to get the grades you want! :) Good luck!
@@SarahChu thanks alot!
currently spring break and I’m in year 10. You saying make resources during/ after every unit makes me realise how behind I am since I’ve been very preoccupied with extracurriculars and massive homework assignments. I get burnt out very easily and cannot place things into perspective without taking a step back. I have little to no notes on organisation and it’s a massive topic I’ve been working on since autumn.
Mocks are a bit over a month away and I have some past papers to do over e holiday, this video helped me to take the step back I needed so thank you!!
Hope you’re doing well :)
hey! i'm doing good, that means a lot :)) good luck with your exams, i'm sure you're going to do amazing!
your parents are so lucky ! so self driven 💫💫
Thank youuuu, finally found a video that’s gonna motivate me!
Thnxss this videos are so helpful,
This advice is honestly rlly crucial as schools assume students will just do them but u rlly know after u experienced it.
they showed her video in my school, really helped me get motivation to study :D
i'm yr 11 and did nothing in year 10 nor in the summer or over the xmas holidays so this is lowkey stressing me out lmao
hey!! honestly just do what you can, that's all anyone can ever ask of you
@@SarahChu thank you, i've started revision now but it's so overwhelming considering the amount of content i can't remember, but i'm proud of myself for actually doing stuff i guess.
hey, tysm I'm in yr10 and spring term but I'm currently not doing too well as i just had my parents evening and my parents don't think I'm doing my best and need to do work as well not just in school so i have to start doing more revision, hope ill improve
I’m going into year 10 this year l appreciate you so much thank you really ❤️
I am really struggling in school and need all the help I can get. I have difficulty learning and sometimes walk out of a class not learning anything and just forgetting.
Hi, I'm a Y9 student that was just moved up to Y10, thanks for these pieces of advice! The gcses are a lot of fun to work on, I love working for hours upon hours per day! Thanks for the vid!
Tips that I definitely reccomend is definitely to use active methods of explanation to prove understanding, doing topical tests, re covering subjects, breaking down papers into segments and making papers to consistently do out of questions you find hard/ are difficult
Jamworks can be a great aide for both university and secondary school, it makes note taking so much easier
i literally im crying here cuz i didnt make any notes in year 10, and now im 5 weeks in for year 11 and just started and i dont know, thank you so much ur videos motivated me
I loved this video so much
Thank you :))
Thanks!
I am in year 10 right now, and your videos really motivated me
I am feeling so overwhelmed, when ever I try to revise it’s just overwhelming. I have 4 weeks until mocks and 7 mounts until gces and I just feel like there is too much.
Thanks so much. I know this is late but I guess it’s better late then never 🙏🙏🙏
Yep! :))
can you please do a how to make a revision timetable 😭
Really wish I knew the specification tip in year 10 / grade 9. I feel like I studied a lot of unnecessary material esp in subjects like chemistry from the textbook. 3 months away from my igcses and only now do I know about it 🗿
Thanks. I'm going into year 10 in September and don't know how to revise. I feel a bit better now

@@Hannah-pg2gb Hi , are u interested in online tuition?
@@usmanshahid4967 possibly
Hey I have a question for you!
I have my GCSE exams in another 4 months.
I study for 12-15 hours a day (self study, without school online classes)
I revise all the subjects for at least 2 or 1-1/2 hours.
Before I start a chapter I do some mcqs with discussion and one or two structure questions. If I had learnt that part already, I would do it without looking but if I haven’t I revise that specific chapter and do the question.
So, in all the subjects I complete a past paper for a week.
And I also do past papers after each and every chapter.
I’m planning to cover the syllabus by December with 8 or 9 years of past paper discussion. And for the remaining days or months, I’ll be revising the past paper again without looking because I would have already covered the syllabus by then.
What do you think of my timetable?
Will I be able to take 9As?
Please let me know and also tell me if you have anything to add. Did you do anything apart from this?
12-15 hours a day?? girl get some rest lol isnt that stressful
Bruh I’m hardly awake for 12-15 hours per day
You could probably get straight grade 10s! I revise no more than 6 hours a day and i'm working at straight 7s. Straight 8s would be decent for me.
Hello! Your videos are very interesting :) I enjoy watching them. Do you think it's better to do double science or triple ?
it depends how much you actually like science and whether you want to take it further, idk if this is everyone’s case but in my school i still have science every single day even tho i’m only doing double. if you’re genuinely interested in science i’d say do triple but it’s your choice, even doing double you still get a lot of learning in.
@@krashii Thank you
love how ur saying summer of year 10 or christmas is late to make resources when i havent made any and its march of year 11
finishing year 10 next week so nervous for year 11
good luck!!
So I have gotten the spec up but you know how you have questions already made for u that doesn’t come up for me. For me it is more like information rather than those questions. Do you know how I can get those questions up ?
where can i find good resources for my textbooks?
Is it too late to review for my igcse may-june2023 exam? Is it enough if i review 3 hours a day?
What is the tablet you are using to write on?
What tablet/iPad do you use and what other tablets/iPads/laptops would you recommend
Hi, I use the iPad Air 4 and the MacBook Pro (2017 edition)! Honestly, I'm not the best person to ask for this but if you're looking to buy an iPad I would recommend either going for the same one as mine or the iPad 8th Generation depending on how much you're willing to spend!
I have left my revision resources till now ( near summer of year 10) and I'm not sure what to do do you have advice?
Same here
I have a very important question (important for myself at least): If I write down notes in my notebook and go through them multiple times, then print a past paper test that includes the topics I revised and wrote in my notebook, would that be classified as active or passive revision and would it be an idea way to revise? Because I still do not really know the true difference between passive and active revision, thank you very much.
It depends on what you mean by 'going through them', when you read your notes and write them, it is passive if you simply copy them. If you do it from memory, then it would be active, since you're engaging your brain to recall what you can - it's a slight change but will help you more. Write what can't remember in a different colour and 'go through' those more by using flashcards or reading them out loud and then explaining it to yourself. Then wait some hours or a day before doing the past paper (spaced repetition). This would be full active learning since rereading and copying are passive (not critically thinking or recalling) but practise papers are active. This would be very effective for most subjects, except (ignore this rant of mine) for english literature and language. I really struggle with thinking of what to write, and I have no clue how to practise that skill without forcing myself to sit down and write for an hour on practise questions, as mentally exhausting as that is, and even then it doesn't work! I swear my level of writing is the same (if not worse because I'm forgetting so much vocabulary) as it was in year 8 and I'm in year 10 now. How can I improve 😭
@@hana-ov1ju I haven’t even started revision for English so idk what to say, but probably an ideal way to revise (for literature at least) is to just do exam questions and test ur knowledge on PETAL paragraphs, see where your weaknesses and strengths are for each letter in PETAL, whether it’s the point ur making, the use of quotes, identifying techniques and if you can link back to the question, etc. In the process you should also time yourself to practice your timing because trust me I never knew it was important until mid year 9 (I’m in year 10 at the moment)
Thanks a lot I’m finna move to year 10 so this a big help thx a lot
Where can I get syllabus for physics year 10 AQA?
hi, can i ask what you mean by specification? im assuming it's the course the school takes for exams (for exampl,e ocr b or AQA), but nevertheless, where do i actually find this specification?
Yes, look up the specification of the exam board and subject you are doing. It basically has all of the topics/information you need to know
@@eva-gz8ku thank you
It’s been 5 months now I just entered year 10/ IG1 and I’m trying to search for diff methods for studying but I just can’t ACTUALLY study with those methods idk what to do
Maybe try using study with me's or the pomodoro technique?
Also, have an end goal in mind, e.g. what you want to do in the future?
@@SarahChu I’m still not sure but probably a doctor
@@SarahChu I tried the pomodoro technique it did kinda work but I’m talking about how can I do those active recall things and flash cards and all those stuff, like I can’t ACTUALLY start doing them yk. I either get distracted or just study by the passive way and I REALLY wanna change it. Btw thank you for replying
@@tranquility8590 girl same
i downloaded anki for spaced repetition in pc and it has only light mode which is damaging my eyes
