Sweet 🏆! 10 & 13 speed Eaton-Fuller transmissions are virtually indestructible, million mile plus transmissions. Change the synthetic fluid every two years as recommended by Eaton warranties ( Mobil or Shell Synthetic Straight 50 gear oil) and this will be last transmission that you will ever need. The wet clutch and brake, as well as the rear helicoid gears on the synchronizer box do tear-up with dirty fluid.
When I was young. My Father would pick me up on Fridays in his Mixer. He had to shift 2 handles to get that thing through the intersection. It was very loud inside the Cab. To this day it still amazes me. V.
25 year driver here, its nice to see an eaton 10 speed in a pickup...take care of them and don't grind the gears and they'll last a lifetime. Make sure you bop the throttle a little bit more when you downshift but other than that I can watch that all day long. Good job!
With 4 years OTR experience, agree on a bit more throttle on the downshift. These transmissions are not synchronized and have to be RPM matched. With typical Class 8 truck 3.42 - 3.23 gearing, you should be coming up at right around 400 - 500 RPM between gears. How did you make the splitter work? I'm pretty sure this is air-actuated, and I wasn't aware that a 5.9 Ram had an air compressor.
@john Chandler I'm sure it's possible, I just wasn't sure if air was actually required to operate the splitter or if it was simply an air controlled solenoid. I've seen someone cobble up an air compressor on a 300 Ford inline 6, so anything's possible.
Don North yeah, it's possible. I've heard through the grapevine of a few guys that have done it. Obviously some mods are required. I guess anything is possible if the wallet is fat enough. 😁
@@robertbronson7863 They dont make true Jake brakes for the smaller cummins engines that mount between the rocker box and the head the ones you are talking about are exhaust brakes that are on the exhaust pipe.

Please get back to me soon, or someone that knows how to pair these two and get everything functional......
Cool concept, but not necessary in a little truck. 6 spd is plenty with what a pickup can legally tow. I drive a KW with a 13 spd, and when I get home after being out 2-4 weeks, I don't wanna run through more gears. But to each their own

Im a car guy and all.. But also like semi trucks and in a pick up...dad did a nice job i know Allison makes great transmissions but i like Eaton fuller transmissions better i know that much....very nice with that 10spd.. Only god knows what you can tow and pull with that setup.
Who do i get in touch with about this build? Im doing a similar build in a 1994 f350 crew cab long bed dually with a 1995 cummins swap. Building a heavy hauler and have questions about this.

To me that would get old in about a day. I drive a commercial truck for a living and the last thing I'd want to do is row through gears unnecessarily in my light duty truck. To each their own though.
He has another video where he’s towing a pretty large trailer. It makes a lot of sense if you’re not lazy since the transmissions in these things really suck in comparison. will the 10 SPD fit on the 4bt I was told it would since the housing are all the same for the 4bt 6bt and 6c!?? you shit the 10 with no clutch except for starting off ??

Amazing how often I catch myself with my head unit on “ standby “ meanwhile she’s whistling Dixie all over town 😎
