    Varusteleka is an awesome online store with lots of great equipment and I've never had any issues with purchasing items from them. Their prices are competitive, their service is great and their shipping is reasonable and expedient. Those are great looking bags. My only issue is that I already have so much gear(including lumbar packs) that I can't really justify purchasing more at this time. Thanks for the video and for sharing.

    Both look great. I've been rocking a "fanny" pack for an edc for a while now and really enjoying it. The askare looks quite handy especially with shoulder straps for a tight belt rig.

    Good overview of some very useful gear -- thanks! When I picked up a 30L pack with vest harness style straps, it was with the idea of using that for light/bulky items. The heavy compact gear and supplies would then go in a separate lumbar bag -- but the features I wanted didn't seem to be available in anything much bigger than 5L at the time. Even so, the modularity and comfort this setup provides is way better than any larger pack with a hip belt. So I'm going to be seriously drooling over the Askare before it becomes available!

    Nice video. I really like Savotta. Their gear as well as production philosophy. They have always been somewhat thougher in Finland compared to here in Sweden. I have to admit that. It seems to be really nice packs. The only problem is that I definitely do not need any of them. So your video has made my life much more complicated 😂

    Oh nice! I'm getting rid of many of my older hip packs just so I can consolidate down - I have so much gear I often can't find what I am looking for. I have the Jaakkaari S and haven't used it as much as you, so I love how you showed us how yours is holding up, it does look new! They are great quality. I'd like to get the M at some point too for longer backpacking trips. The thing I thought would be the first to go is the waterproof lining - I thought it might de-laminate. But that's still good as new too?

    Interesting first look thank you, to compare with a chest pouch like a Helikon-Tex Numbat. Probably better when using other Savotta backpacks/pouches/....

    • @EnduranceRoom
      @EnduranceRoom  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Thanks! Similar concept to the numbat, but different method of carry. I think it would pair up with other gear just fine. Backpack would probably need to be around 30L or less, so it can be supported with the hip pack.

    Hip pack ? That the same as a fanny pack or man purse ? 😁 All bs aside it looks like they’re solid Jess . Actually shocked how much you had stuffed in the hip pack . More organized than the one I carry hunting. Have a great evening.

    Hi Jessie, I was wondering, have you used the portable chain saw much? I've tried a couple of them, and really didn't like them. With both arms cranking back and forth, it seems like they require a lot more effort for the same amount of cutting, compared to other types of saws. Thanks!

    • @EnduranceRoom
      @EnduranceRoom  Před 2 měsíci

      I like it as an extra saw, not my main. I primarily use a small Silky Pocketboy, with the Pocket saw reserved for larger material. It takes some getting used to, but they cut well. Key for me is using my body rather than just arms.

    Can you a video showing much kit and sustainment (food/water) you can fit between the jääkäri M, Hatka and this new butt pack combined for a multi day trips ????

    • @EnduranceRoom
      @EnduranceRoom  Před 3 měsíci

      I will think about it. It really depends on the circumstances, location, season, etc. Between the 3 (M, Hatka, Askare), it is about 50L capacity, which is a little light for winter, but could work well for warmer weather. Additional sustainment pouches could be added on sides of M for more space, but at some point a larger pack is going to be more ideally suited for your goals.
