I have an extra Raven & old man winter power armor mask heardsmen bell display and bell + the S.B Stien 3 or 4 Plus 3 old man winter effigies
I'd argue that such afkers are irritating if wanting to complete other public events, few times I've been on a serwer with around 15 players, where when Eviction notice poped up, 3-4 players showed up, 6 were still afk at Helvetia like 20+ minutes after the event and the rest were doing their stuff. It really feels like a dead server when decent chunk of the players is afk 😬
I've only found a few dedicated players willing to participate in those events since fasnact started, it's been nearly impossible to find a full or fill a complete team for daily ops too.

I don't mind the Scrip Scrap they are giving us. Plus I bet one day they will figure out a way to reduce the loot if you are AFK. Like if you did not tag some enemies. At this event sometimes it is hard to get kills if you have a big group that is active.
Lucky no one shows up for me I end up having to solo what I can. Beast of burden is impossible due to time. Since this new limited event feels like the games dead for me no matter how much I server hop just a cluster of dots chilling in helvetia

I see people AFKing as the symptom, not as the root cause. The low drop rate of rare masks along with with the lenghty event makes many people chosing that way. Fasnacht deperately needs a redesign, cutting out 5-10 minutes on duration.
Me, too. I play for AFKers while I can and do AFK other times. Before this year I never tried AFK but it's so frustrating to not get the new masks, and it's even harder to get the new rare ones because Bethesda keeps diluting the mask pool by adding more. Now you can expect on average to get any particular rare mask every 300 parades!
I appreciate it. I do play a few rounds and then afk for a while. I work 10-12 hours daily and can't play as much as some. And with only a .32% chance for a rare glowing mask, it is almost impossible for me to get them....
Afk people are the loser in school projects that do absolutely nothing an get the good grade anyway. Afk is in fact NOT playing so it's not playing differently.....
I had a guy last night that i thinm was shooting flares? He shot so many we couldnt even see anything and one of the rpbots lost over half its health. That was the closest ive come to losing a robot and i have to assume he was trolling because he wasnt shooting at enemies
Last four times I tried that event there was either a puke with a fat man or someone or three throwing nuke grenades everywhere. Not worth the time anymore really.
I’m tired of doing the same event over and over and when another event comes up, the AFKers are filling the whole lobby and not playing the other events. Fallout just seems dead when fasnacht is going on
Even if youre on a server with active players, there are tons of events that people dont want to do. Fasnacht just males it worse because you only have 50ish minutes between events to do what you want so people are less inclined to do things they dont like.
I think the biggest thing people get salty about is doing the event either alone or with very few active participants (cause by a large number of AFKers). It is a community event after all.
Yea but thats whats so dumb the game gives you, like 5 or 6 minutes to even start the event. If nobody shows up just server hop and odds are youll be golden unless its like 3am

@montgomeryfortenberry Don't know what platform you're playing on but hopping server while Fasnacht is active results in a blue screen or frozen load 90%+ of the time.

afk is not my style because i prefer to actually play the game, but im confused to why people dont like afkers? it doesnt effect them, the event always has like 20+ people each time so its not like theres a chance youre going to fail the event

With the sheer amount of participants when i logon after work, i feel like i'm accidentally going AFK. I call it "just happy to be here" because there's so many people".
@@j.k.8537 i don't have too many issues with crashing and I'm on PC. My husband is also PC but he will have where it freezes for a bit then lags and then goes back to normal.

They should at least mix the enemy spawns up a little, with different enemies and not always from the same spawn point / same order, you could almost complete it with eyes closed
This is my 1st time with this even and I don't really mind the people going AFK unless it's a server with almost all AFK people and they cause you to loose the even. Very aggravating

Because they're masks in a video game lmao, you really need to take a second to self-reflect and look at yourself if you're that worried about missing out on some ugly masks.
Fun fact: even if you die because of a nuke… as long as you’re still in game and you’re in the radius of the event, you STILL get the rewards WHILE YOU’RE DEAD!! So people that nuke are just wasting their time and forcing other people to be miserable.
Fun fact that's why you move them with the chainsaw out of the event radius then go fund some ghouls or any enemy to follow you back to them to kill them
I will admit, I did it once. I had to go get some dishes done and was going to log off anyways, but then the event came up and figured I'd AFK while doing the dishes...
My wife and I have had this discussion as well. She plays her character and AFKs mine while I’m at work. Once I get home I’m participating in every event. I’ll even run a couple before work. I would say the frustrating part of it is usually at night, usually around 8-9pm PST, when there are almost all AFKers. One night, it was me, her, and two other people doing the event while the rest of the server AFKed. We just start hopping servers or call it a night when that happens. Being PS5 players, we also crash a lot. So it’s also frustrating to see AFKers spinning or playing instruments for hours while we crash while being active. I personally haven’t got a glowing mask yet, but my wife got a glowing scorched beast mask on the second or third day. My idea is that Bethesda should somehow reward active participants with a higher chance of rare drops (I.e. helping with the 5 bots, taking care of rad toads, super mutants, healing bots, etc). I feel like they kinda do it with other events, but I’m not exactly sure. I know I’ve joined a Safe and Sound event at the very end, got a couple rounds into the Blue Devil and got one treasury note instead of the usual 3 or 4. So it made me think there is something in place to give better rewards to people who “do more”. I feel like that would be more fair for the Fasnacht event if they did something like that. With the proposed system for rewards, even depositing one stein would allow a better chance than someone who contributed nothing.
Do you think the afkers are immune to bugthesda? Everyone crashes. It doesnt matter if youre afk or not. This mprning i was trying to run 1 before work and it crashed once and froze another time. It took me 15 minutes to get into the game. Needless to say i missed it.
@@montgomeryfortenberry I’m sure they crash too. I’ve seen a few naked characters standing around. However, from my experience, I rarely see it. What I have seen is my wife and I crashing multiple times and coming back to see the same AFKers still spinning and playing instruments in the same spot after hours of playing. Thankfully, we don’t crash at the same time so we can join back up. Again, just a frustrating thing to see when you’re actively trying to participate. Another example, from experience, I crashed right before the lighting at the end and missed the rewards. Again, I log back in and see the AFKers still there. I can also say that my wife crashes more than I do, because she lets me know, while she’s actively participating and my character is AFK. I’m sure the combination of bugs and actively doing things compared to doing nothing contributes to the higher chance to crash unfortunately.

Yup. You know it's already within Bethesda's mindset to reward event participants just due to the sheer fact that they're not divvying out rewards to anyone who doesn't attend any map events. So why not step it up and reward those who actively participate. Maybe you have to damage one enemy, or complete one task, or no reward without pressing x at the bonfire.
Had one today where 16 of the 18 people there were AFK, spinning around in their corners. The other player and I ran it alone and it was actually a fun change of pace. Didn't make any sense to be annoyed anyway, so we had fun. Thumbs-upped each other at the end and went our separate ways. It was actually more memorable than most of the events I've played since it started this month.
Let's be clear, used to hate afkrs, but still completed events with them there. This season started afking while sleeping and got 4 rares while doing so. Now i just figure hey, i got your back in the day, you get my back at night, everyone wins.
To me I just don't bother if the players wanna go afk or not. We can't control what others want to do in these events but I did encounter a new player struggling to join the event and kept dying due to the nuke zone. I just crafted him lvl1 hazmat suit and he was so happy jumping up and down shooting lil critters. My thoughts on this issue are pretty simple, just help whatever we can during that situation and really improve their gaming exp for fo76.
I recommend everyone to afk before event ends soon. When sleeping or at work or just out. Even if someone drops a nuke. You will still get rewards. As long as you’re in the event radius.
The event has also get crazy popular... I remember last year, there was far less people and not as many nukes. AFK is ok, but kinda weird to stay online just for some game masks... Just by them and save the power bill :D
Sometimes....I think its a conspiracy...so some game marketing team can point at a chart and natter on about in game attendance, and hours spent playing ect..
I think some people look for things to be mad about. AFKers aren't going to impact the event, except maybe causing more enemies to spawn, but that just means more xp. There are always still a handful of people there who play through it, so it's rarely a solo job.
The event isn't even hard. You can complete it solo or with at least another player. I find it funny how these are the same people who can one shot most things and spam the Auto Grenade Launcher and Fatman. They're more annoying than AFKers and don't get called out. At least AFKers don't steal kills or blind people by spamming the Fatman.
I am disabled and spend much of my day playing FO76. When these events come along I get excited because there is something to do. At first AFK players bothered me. Why should they get a reward for my work? I think a lot of people think that way. When I looked into it though, I couldn't find anything from Bethesda asking people not to do it. If Bethesda doesn't care, why should I?
With how diluted the loot pool is, i have no issue with people AFKing this event. I'd even go so far to say that the dupers are a welcome sight this year. I've gotten one rare mask of the new ones, zero of the old rare masks, and of my 4 chars only one has gotten the herdsman plan and thats from playing it for a week and a half with actually doing the event over and over.
People complaining about the rarity of getting a "RARE" mask is hilarious; that's literally the whole point. You won't be complaining once you have it, though.😂
There's 21 different rare masks nowadays. That's a 0,23 percent chance to get each one, for a total of 5 percent... Meaning you get the crappy common masks 95 percent of the time. Also you only get a single roll or the slot machine per hour... It just sucks. Been running the event nonstop from the start all day on two accounts and I only got 3/21 rare masks... This is just bad.
while I think its mainly the event causing the problem (honestly should be ever other hour with double or more loot rewards, maybe even more if participating in objectives) but I despise coming in servers seeing 4+ people afk hiding doing nothing, when its 6+ I say f it and nuke the event so they get nothing (unless the active people don't leave but they usually do) Besides being active helps, I can get normally 2 maybe 3 events done in a row if I am quick enough (I have gotten 2 rare masks and 4 butter churners)
The game doesn't want you to even aim with heavy weapons in power armor, it glitches you into snail walking speed and removes your ability to even sprint, "16 times the detail" btw.

Since I've only been in the game since April this is my first Fasnacht event. Personally, I'd rather see one or two afk players then trying to fight through a hellstorm of lag caused by non stop grenades, fire and nukes getting launched in my area like in my recent radiation rumble playthrough. Regardless, I don't afk so I'll watch some videos to prepare for the event and try to help. Thanks for the video.
The only reason to do this event is to get rare masks or the motorized butter churner. Otherwise its a waste of time. Buddy got an extra butter plan and gave it to me after not seeing it. I am now done with the event.
You are going AFK the wrong way if getting nuked disrupts it. Kill yourself inside of the event area when it's not active, select respawn, go to the respawn map, don't respawn and then initiate your AFK controls on the respawn map. You will still collect rewards and be completely unaffected by attempts from players to punt you from the event area, even if they nuke the event.
The number of people afking is getting excessive sometimes. I usually just server hop if there are tons of afkers doing nothing. I didn't get a glowing mask but I got the loon, scorchbeast, sbq, honey bee and blue devil. 4 new masks is pretty solid. The loon and blue devil are really cool.
I have played the event regularly the last days. I haven't experienced afk players being a problem yet. So why bother? What bothers me more are the people who immediately blow away everything and don't give others players even the chance to participate and tag some mobs.
I wouldn't mind 1 or 2 AFKers but tonight, I wanted to do one more event, but the band was full of afk people and nobody else was around. I didn't want to do the event by myself, but I was already 9 minutes late and I couldn't find another server in time. A wasted hour for me! I don't believe in it myself because I don't want to do all the work for people doing nothing!
2:00 can also just use a hazmat if you're a low level and can't get Power Armor yet, joing a radiation rumble event and grab a free one if you can't find any to buy
The only concern I have with AFK is if there's 10 plus participants in the event, the timer's about to run out and no one's talking to the task master meaning that I'm the only one who needs to do everything on the event. It irks me but I just server hop, less hassle way of dealing with the "problem".
It is like you said. I don't think the drops are there this year or the chances of you getting something new is harder. I finally got a plan I did not know on Wed. But Honestley I log on to do daily quest and log off. Usually try to time it to do the event in that time. Weekend More. But You can farm a lot of Acid in this event if you need it. Collect the honey Combs, The Beehives spots at the event. Then server hop and like magic, you can loot them again. Had over 300 before I said enough. That is 600 acid. since each one gives you 2.
This sounds so bad and I hate I’m doing it. I’ve been AFKing for the event only because every other time I participate in the event, I crash and with my slow loading I miss out on the event. While I’m AFK I haven’t crashed or disconnected from the server. I do limit how much I AFK. All I want is the Glowing Scorched Beast and the plans right now. Past events if I crash, by the time I load back in it’s still going, this one seems to be very short. I’ve noticed most of my crashing happened either right when the Toads start to spawn in or when the Super Mutants start to spawn in, it’s slightly before the spawns like I can see the game freeze for a split second. Ive been afk for 3 full days and havent gotten 1 single glowing masks i have like 10 of each possible plan which is the only semi decent thing im getting out of this because they go for a couple thousands caps each especially the burning man effigy
Because video game companies that use gambling RNG aren't regulated like Casinos. Casinos if they implement RNG like video game companies would face fines for engaging in numbers manipulation while video games get away with it because they aren't regulated and can manipulate thos RNG numbers as they choose. Making something have a 0.0001% drop rate is pretty much impossible odds to keep someone playing / farming forever. The only goal here is to hope that in that time trying, you'll spend some money.
No its just the luck of the draw and even if it was some sketchy behind the scenes stuff then pray they get more masks and they might be inclined to sell them for cheap
I definitely played so many hours of events before doing the afk. Even busted out my ps4 so i can afk on there and play some thing else on my ps5 😅😂 but i still do run around sometimes and the event even tho the game plays awfully on the ps4. Ive got 100s i want to say of the normal masks and honey bee masks 1 demon mask and 1 fiend mask, a handful of scorchbeast and queen masks and just realized today i have a glowing honey bee and glowing scorchbeast queen.. i just want the deathclaw mask tbh haha or a glowing deathclaw mask if theres one
I've been playing for a little over a week. I have been avoiding this event because I thought (after trying it on 2 separate occasions), it was some kind of crazy radiation storm event and people are running around where I can't see them and I hear shooting and I am taking massive rad damage with the event seeming to give me no indication of what I was supposed to be doing. No time to figure out the event when you have to stop every 15 seconds to use Rad X or Rad Away. So I figured it was for high level players only.
Definitely hop servers if you come across a nuked event. Other than that the event is pretty straight forward. Find marchers complete their objective. Participate in parade and protect the marchers. It is a fairly fun and unique in game event.
I’m just about done with it, between crap drop rates and scammers the fun is pretty much gone for one mask I would like to have and two I wouldn’t mind having
Don't know if this makes Sense. But Did the Fasnacht event last night. Joined the event and it was a total of one person there active. So serve hop and this time it was at least 6 people there being active. Helped out to get the event started. We some how lost a Robot at the Frog attack location. Used the flamer to heal the rest. and we completed the event. Still got the Scorch Queen Mask after losing one robot. Thought that was kind of weird. 1st time getting that mask. Figured us losing a Robot, meant lower rank rewards.
It doesn't “cause” anyone to nuke the event, they do it by choice. This event is easily done by 1-2 players and people AFKing doesn't harm anyone, but nuking does. Just swap servers if you're mad someone is afk, or maybe mind your own business and don't be malicious if you don't like Afkers? Is it a jealousy thing? AFK people don't take anything from you at all, so why care?
the only time i don't like AFKers is when there is more AFK players than players. otherwise, if you want the rare masks that is the only way to get them.
Never got to experience this event at all ive bought most of the plans & mask from vendors and i didnt even know there are glowing mask so it makes me wanna try this event once to see if i can get one atleast
I get home from work just before the hour starts, I log in as fast as I can, go to helvetia, and AFK. Go eat dinner. Change clothes. While I'm done I got the rewards. Then I play for 1 hour and attend a fasnacht that I don't AFK. I live a balanced life. I need to be able to AFK a bit, but I'll participate when I can.
I've participated in about 5 or 6 Fasnacht events this time around and have gotten a glowing mask. Don't remember which one. (I think it's a Goblin?) Great, now what to do with it?
Tip for AFKers: Be sure you have ricochet perk card on, your health maxed, a vampire weapon equipped, and the healing factor syrum. I came back after afk sleeping all night and there was a pile of bodies around me. Lololol
I was halfway through the event yesterday and someone nuked it to get back at the AFK players. I was unable to finish the event in time and unable to find another lobby. I don’t have much time after work to play and I haven’t gotten any rare masks yet.
I went AFK for the first time, I did it for the first 3 days well I was at work for 8 hrs. and It didn't help my chances of getting a rare mask. So, I just went back to not caring if I get one or not. and just went back to playing for the 3-4 hrs I have when I get home. lol
I find that my new or super low level characters get the best rewards. I didn’t know the herdsman this was a thing until I created a new account and a new character. Got the herdsman rack 2 times back to back. And crazy guy mask soon after. Saw the same thing last year too. That is why I started playing with this low level character and it worked.
This is my first time doing this event. I only started playing about a month ago. Everytime I’m online I actually do the event but then I afk it when I have to go to work or go to sleep.
It’s a little bit of Bethesdas fault Having the event once an hour,most people work or have other commitments and can’t spare the time to grind this event and the drop % is pretty tough for the rare masks. Can’t really blame ppl for going afk.
Yeah by the way I actually had two of the glowing masks honey beast and scorched beast sold those at vendor station for 5000 caps also I don't know if it's a visual glitch but I've seen some people being AFK over at the music area and their names are white there in the whole entire event instead of being yellow. Although I've seen the nuking the event as well about 5 minutes before it starts which I can see what they're doing that for, they're probably trying to get some free nuclear stabilizing material
Dont worry about what other people are doing, just do what you gotta do, to get things done. Dont let them ruin your day, but if its that bad, just leave to world find a new one.
Some of us work. The event runs for 2 weeks. We want the rewards too. If the drop rate wasnt so low and we had a chance for the 2 or 3 hours a night we get to play then it wouldnt be as bad of an issue.
Exactly. Those crybabies who nuke the event are more selfish than AFKers. They don't realize it also affects people who are actually doing the event. They'll hop to another server instead.
If you nuke the event sure that Fasnacht gets completed. But then most active players will switch servers and then the AFK players no longer get rewards. The other issue isn’t the lack of help at Fasnacht, it’s the lack of help at other events. What about the low levels that want to do Rad Rumble but nobody shows up because there are so many AFK players in a lobby. It’s not only the Fasnacht event. They are making the lobby’s and game feel dead.
I disagree with AFK. I play the game from launch I understand the desire for the masks. The sale of masks are the reason why I disagree with the strategy
For people like myself, the sale of the mask or plan etc.. is why I afk. I work 60 hours a week. So most events I can’t make. I run the event normal when I’m off work. But those afk runs are just bonus attempts for me so I don’t have to trade my entire earned caps to some greedy kid for a cool mask.
I run enough of the actual events that I don't feel bad about AFK'ing a few. Also everyone's pissed about the rewards but I've got a bunch of cool ones. Blue devil, honey bee, robot, jester, minotaur, pig and a few others
I was in an event some hours ago, and no AFK Players were there. And they nuked the Fastnacht area without any reason. And we were there to collect our rewards, and when message came, i ran straight in west direction till the rails. There the nuke zone ended and i was save. Even after this video i don't get it at all.
I do not know what is going on. I have an Xbox series S, an Xbox S, and an Xbox one, all plugged in and I’m using the rubber band method with it connected to the . I keep getting the pop-up that says please connect to controller. I’ve updated all of the firmware and set all of the machines to not turn off automatically. Anyone have any ideas?
Being able to play only a couple of hours per day due to work, I'm internally debating AFK to perhaps get a rare drop. And to be fair, there is nothing in the rules about AFK'ing, just bad style I guess
My humble opinion is: i really want glowing masks, so when i can participate and be useful i do it, but when im bussy y get afk and play instruments, but mostly i try to participate in the event
They are most the most part. It's just that this event brings out their inner toxicity. Honestly, I blame Bethesda for this one because of how bad the drop rate is. There were AFKers in the past, but not to this extent.
As a person who ran like, maybe 20 and got 3 rare masks; one of which was the new Glowing SBQ mask, I don't care what people do. AFK, don't AFK, it's a silly little event. Anyone who is anti-afk is coping with the fact that when they run it they get nothing, and anyone who is pro-afk is sweating event rewards and also more than likely going to get nothing. It's random chance. Afk, don't afk, noodles, the point is to have fun and *try* to get something cool. No one was going to do another event while fasnacht is happening anyway.
I have no idea how many events I've run, either AFK or playing but between two accounts I've gotten four glowing masks and I just happened to get one of each so I feel extremely lucky. I've also gotten some other rare masks. I'll afk both accounts on different servers when I sleep or work. If I'm at or near my computer I just log in 5 minutes before the hour, help with the start tasks and then go afk unless there are few participants. Usually with a lot of people there I just stand around anyway so I might as well afk. If there aren't very many players or they are low level, I'll focus on being the last line of defense & using my flamer to heal the bots but I won't really put effort unless something gets through. I don't feel bad afking and don't care if people are afk when I'm participating. So many events get no participants as it is even when Fasnacht isn't happening. Today, I joined Free Range because a level 94 was there alone so I felt I should help. Two other players joined eventually and we got all the Brahmin to the end safely.
If you nuke the event while I'm active you will turn me into an afker as I stand at the finish and pop radaway while you do the work for making me have to enter my damn power armor. You've been warned.
Wo many people and explosions i get low framerate in some events. Not worth playing but i still want the daily scrip caps and notes. 😅 i play some events when im not at work. And i dont mind afk
I don’t even put up a camp in Helvetia anymore. It’s honestly ridiculous the amount of nukes that occur. When you nuke the event you not only ruin it for AFKers but you ruin it for EVERYONE! 😞

Not a fan of griefing but I would agree that Eviction Notice or Moonshine Jamboree shouldn't be AFKed. If you are in those events, participate.
I've only found a few dedicated players willing to participate in those events since fasnact started, it's been nearly impossible to find a full or fill a complete team for daily ops too.

I don't mind the Scrip Scrap they are giving us. Plus I bet one day they will figure out a way to reduce the loot if you are AFK. Like if you did not tag some enemies. At this event sometimes it is hard to get kills if you have a big group that is active.
Lucky no one shows up for me I end up having to solo what I can. Beast of burden is impossible due to time. Since this new limited event feels like the games dead for me no matter how much I server hop just a cluster of dots chilling in helvetia

I see people AFKing as the symptom, not as the root cause. The low drop rate of rare masks along with with the lenghty event makes many people chosing that way. Fasnacht deperately needs a redesign, cutting out 5-10 minutes on duration.

I have done both AFK and played a lot since this started. Zero glowing masks. I play for AFKers. AFKers take their turn playing, I am sure.

Me, too. I play for AFKers while I can and do AFK other times. Before this year I never tried AFK but it's so frustrating to not get the new masks, and it's even harder to get the new rare ones because Bethesda keeps diluting the mask pool by adding more. Now you can expect on average to get any particular rare mask every 300 parades!
I appreciate it. I do play a few rounds and then afk for a while. I work 10-12 hours daily and can't play as much as some. And with only a .32% chance for a rare glowing mask, it is almost impossible for me to get them....

I had a guy last night that i thinm was shooting flares? He shot so many we couldnt even see anything and one of the rpbots lost over half its health. That was the closest ive come to losing a robot and i have to assume he was trolling because he wasnt shooting at enemies
Last four times I tried that event there was either a puke with a fat man or someone or three throwing nuke grenades everywhere. Not worth the time anymore really.
I agree. I get wanting to show off big boy toys but at times the number of overpowered weapons is just ridonkulous.
I’m tired of doing the same event over and over and when another event comes up, the AFKers are filling the whole lobby and not playing the other events. Fallout just seems dead when fasnacht is going on

Even if youre on a server with active players, there are tons of events that people dont want to do. Fasnacht just males it worse because you only have 50ish minutes between events to do what you want so people are less inclined to do things they dont like.
Iv played 18 hours the first day 22 the 2nd day and 20 the 3rd day I got 1 I just did quest in between missions and played with base building
I think the biggest thing people get salty about is doing the event either alone or with very few active participants (cause by a large number of AFKers). It is a community event after all.
Yea but thats whats so dumb the game gives you, like 5 or 6 minutes to even start the event. If nobody shows up just server hop and odds are youll be golden unless its like 3am

With the sheer amount of participants when i logon after work, i feel like i'm accidentally going AFK. I call it "just happy to be here" because there's so many people".

I think the event is fun but doing it every hour is a bit daunting . I've tried to spice things up by using different weapons, dressing weird, etc.

They should at least mix the enemy spawns up a little, with different enemies and not always from the same spawn point / same order, you could almost complete it with eyes closed

Fun fact: even if you die because of a nuke… as long as you’re still in game and you’re in the radius of the event, you STILL get the rewards WHILE YOU’RE DEAD!! So people that nuke are just wasting their time and forcing other people to be miserable.

I will admit, I did it once. I had to go get some dishes done and was going to log off anyways, but then the event came up and figured I'd AFK while doing the dishes...
My wife and I have had this discussion as well.
She plays her character and AFKs mine while I’m at work. Once I get home I’m participating in every event. I’ll even run a couple before work.
I would say the frustrating part of it is usually at night, usually around 8-9pm PST, when there are almost all AFKers. One night, it was me, her, and two other people doing the event while the rest of the server AFKed. We just start hopping servers or call it a night when that happens.
Being PS5 players, we also crash a lot. So it’s also frustrating to see AFKers spinning or playing instruments for hours while we crash while being active.
I personally haven’t got a glowing mask yet, but my wife got a glowing scorched beast mask on the second or third day.
My idea is that Bethesda should somehow reward active participants with a higher chance of rare drops (I.e. helping with the 5 bots, taking care of rad toads, super mutants, healing bots, etc).
I feel like they kinda do it with other events, but I’m not exactly sure. I know I’ve joined a Safe and Sound event at the very end, got a couple rounds into the Blue Devil and got one treasury note instead of the usual 3 or 4. So it made me think there is something in place to give better rewards to people who “do more”. I feel like that would be more fair for the Fasnacht event if they did something like that. With the proposed system for rewards, even depositing one stein would allow a better chance than someone who contributed nothing.
Do you think the afkers are immune to bugthesda? Everyone crashes. It doesnt matter if youre afk or not. This mprning i was trying to run 1 before work and it crashed once and froze another time. It took me 15 minutes to get into the game. Needless to say i missed it.

However, from my experience, I rarely see it. What I have seen is my wife and I crashing multiple times and coming back to see the same AFKers still spinning and playing instruments in the same spot after hours of playing. Thankfully, we don’t crash at the same time so we can join back up. Again, just a frustrating thing to see when you’re actively trying to participate.
Another example, from experience, I crashed right before the lighting at the end and missed the rewards. Again, I log back in and see the AFKers still there.
I can also say that my wife crashes more than I do, because she lets me know, while she’s actively participating and my character is AFK. I’m sure the combination of bugs and actively doing things compared to doing nothing contributes to the higher chance to crash unfortunately.

Yup. You know it's already within Bethesda's mindset to reward event participants just due to the sheer fact that they're not divvying out rewards to anyone who doesn't attend any map events. So why not step it up and reward those who actively participate. Maybe you have to damage one enemy, or complete one task, or no reward without pressing x at the bonfire.
Had one today where 16 of the 18 people there were AFK, spinning around in their corners. The other player and I ran it alone and it was actually a fun change of pace. Didn't make any sense to be annoyed anyway, so we had fun. Thumbs-upped each other at the end and went our separate ways. It was actually more memorable than most of the events I've played since it started this month.
Even AFK'ing fasnacht is too boring to do
Let's be clear, used to hate afkrs, but still completed events with them there. This season started afking while sleeping and got 4 rares while doing so. Now i just figure hey, i got your back in the day, you get my back at night, everyone wins.
To me I just don't bother if the players wanna go afk or not. We can't control what others want to do in these events but I did encounter a new player struggling to join the event and kept dying due to the nuke zone. I just crafted him lvl1 hazmat suit and he was so happy jumping up and down shooting lil critters. My thoughts on this issue are pretty simple, just help whatever we can during that situation and really improve their gaming exp for fo76.

I recommend everyone to afk before event ends soon. When sleeping or at work or just out. Even if someone drops a nuke. You will still get rewards. As long as you’re in the event radius.
The event has also get crazy popular... I remember last year, there was far less people and not as many nukes. AFK is ok, but kinda weird to stay online just for some game masks... Just by them and save the power bill :D
Sometimes....I think its a conspiracy...so some game marketing team can point at a chart and natter on about in game attendance, and hours spent playing ect..
I think some people look for things to be mad about. AFKers aren't going to impact the event, except maybe causing more enemies to spawn, but that just means more xp. There are always still a handful of people there who play through it, so it's rarely a solo job.
The event isn't even hard. You can complete it solo or with at least another player. I find it funny how these are the same people who can one shot most things and spam the Auto Grenade Launcher and Fatman. They're more annoying than AFKers and don't get called out. At least AFKers don't steal kills or blind people by spamming the Fatman.
I am disabled and spend much of my day playing FO76. When these events come along I get excited because there is something to do. At first AFK players bothered me. Why should they get a reward for my work? I think a lot of people think that way. When I looked into it though, I couldn't find anything from Bethesda asking people not to do it. If Bethesda doesn't care, why should I?
With how diluted the loot pool is, i have no issue with people AFKing this event. I'd even go so far to say that the dupers are a welcome sight this year. I've gotten one rare mask of the new ones, zero of the old rare masks, and of my 4 chars only one has gotten the herdsman plan and thats from playing it for a week and a half with actually doing the event over and over.

People complaining about the rarity of getting a "RARE" mask is hilarious; that's literally the whole point. You won't be complaining once you have it, though.😂
There's 21 different rare masks nowadays. That's a 0,23 percent chance to get each one, for a total of 5 percent... Meaning you get the crappy common masks 95 percent of the time. Also you only get a single roll or the slot machine per hour... It just sucks. Been running the event nonstop from the start all day on two accounts and I only got 3/21 rare masks... This is just bad.
while I think its mainly the event causing the problem (honestly should be ever other hour with double or more loot rewards, maybe even more if participating in objectives) but I despise coming in servers seeing 4+ people afk hiding doing nothing, when its 6+ I say f it and nuke the event so they get nothing (unless the active people don't leave but they usually do)
Besides being active helps, I can get normally 2 maybe 3 events done in a row if I am quick enough (I have gotten 2 rare masks and 4 butter churners)
The game doesn't want you to even aim with heavy weapons in power armor, it glitches you into snail walking speed and removes your ability to even sprint, "16 times the detail" btw.
Yes you should i got alot of rare masks doing nothing but play musical instrument the whole event ,and the 3 events i did i got common masks.

The issue is its impossible to get complete the event as in getting all the prizes a player would want. The drop rates are too poor for glowing mask

Since I've only been in the game since April this is my first Fasnacht event. Personally, I'd rather see one or two afk players then trying to fight through a hellstorm of lag caused by non stop grenades, fire and nukes getting launched in my area like in my recent radiation rumble playthrough. Regardless, I don't afk so I'll watch some videos to prepare for the event and try to help. Thanks for the video.
The only reason to do this event is to get rare masks or the motorized butter churner. Otherwise its a waste of time. Buddy got an extra butter plan and gave it to me after not seeing it. I am now done with the event.
You are going AFK the wrong way if getting nuked disrupts it. Kill yourself inside of the event area when it's not active, select respawn, go to the respawn map, don't respawn and then initiate your AFK controls on the respawn map. You will still collect rewards and be completely unaffected by attempts from players to punt you from the event area, even if they nuke the event.
The number of people afking is getting excessive sometimes. I usually just server hop if there are tons of afkers doing nothing. I didn't get a glowing mask but I got the loon, scorchbeast, sbq, honey bee and blue devil. 4 new masks is pretty solid. The loon and blue devil are really cool.

I have played the event regularly the last days. I haven't experienced afk players being a problem yet. So why bother? What bothers me more are the people who immediately blow away everything and don't give others players even the chance to participate and tag some mobs.

I wouldn't mind 1 or 2 AFKers but tonight, I wanted to do one more event, but the band was full of afk people and nobody else was around. I didn't want to do the event by myself, but I was already 9 minutes late and I couldn't find another server in time. A wasted hour for me! I don't believe in it myself because I don't want to do all the work for people doing nothing!
2:00 can also just use a hazmat if you're a low level and can't get Power Armor yet, joing a radiation rumble event and grab a free one if you can't find any to buy
Chinese Stealth Armour is the best. Everyone should have a set, it's the best Hazmat available.
The only concern I have with AFK is if there's 10 plus participants in the event, the timer's about to run out and no one's talking to the task master meaning that I'm the only one who needs to do everything on the event. It irks me but I just server hop, less hassle way of dealing with the "problem".
It is like you said. I don't think the drops are there this year or the chances of you getting something new is harder. I finally got a plan I did not know on Wed. But Honestley I log on to do daily quest and log off. Usually try to time it to do the event in that time. Weekend More. But You can farm a lot of Acid in this event if you need it. Collect the honey Combs, The Beehives spots at the event. Then server hop and like magic, you can loot them again. Had over 300 before I said enough. That is 600 acid. since each one gives you 2.
This sounds so bad and I hate I’m doing it. I’ve been AFKing for the event only because every other time I participate in the event, I crash and with my slow loading I miss out on the event. While I’m AFK I haven’t crashed or disconnected from the server. I do limit how much I AFK. All I want is the Glowing Scorched Beast and the plans right now. Past events if I crash, by the time I load back in it’s still going, this one seems to be very short. I’ve noticed most of my crashing happened either right when the Toads start to spawn in or when the Super Mutants start to spawn in, it’s slightly before the spawns like I can see the game freeze for a split second.

Ive been afk for 3 full days and havent gotten 1 single glowing masks i have like 10 of each possible plan which is the only semi decent thing im getting out of this because they go for a couple thousands caps each especially the burning man effigy
Because video game companies that use gambling RNG aren't regulated like Casinos. Casinos if they implement RNG like video game companies would face fines for engaging in numbers manipulation while video games get away with it because they aren't regulated and can manipulate thos RNG numbers as they choose. Making something have a 0.0001% drop rate is pretty much impossible odds to keep someone playing / farming forever. The only goal here is to hope that in that time trying, you'll spend some money.

No its just the luck of the draw and even if it was some sketchy behind the scenes stuff then pray they get more masks and they might be inclined to sell them for cheap

I definitely played so many hours of events before doing the afk. Even busted out my ps4 so i can afk on there and play some thing else on my ps5 😅😂 but i still do run around sometimes and the event even tho the game plays awfully on the ps4. Ive got 100s i want to say of the normal masks and honey bee masks 1 demon mask and 1 fiend mask, a handful of scorchbeast and queen masks and just realized today i have a glowing honey bee and glowing scorchbeast queen.. i just want the deathclaw mask tbh haha or a glowing deathclaw mask if theres one
I've been playing for a little over a week. I have been avoiding this event because I thought (after trying it on 2 separate occasions), it was some kind of crazy radiation storm event and people are running around where I can't see them and I hear shooting and I am taking massive rad damage with the event seeming to give me no indication of what I was supposed to be doing.
No time to figure out the event when you have to stop every 15 seconds to use Rad X or Rad Away. So I figured it was for high level players only.
Definitely hop servers if you come across a nuked event. Other than that the event is pretty straight forward. Find marchers complete their objective. Participate in parade and protect the marchers. It is a fairly fun and unique in game event.
Don't use RadX. Get mutated, upgrade your Starched Genes perk so the mutations are permanent then only use Rad Away! The game is 10x better this way!

Don't know if this makes Sense. But Did the Fasnacht event last night. Joined the event and it was a total of one person there active. So serve hop and this time it was at least 6 people there being active. Helped out to get the event started. We some how lost a Robot at the Frog attack location. Used the flamer to heal the rest. and we completed the event. Still got the Scorch Queen Mask after losing one robot. Thought that was kind of weird. 1st time getting that mask. Figured us losing a Robot, meant lower rank rewards.
It doesn't “cause” anyone to nuke the event, they do it by choice. This event is easily done by 1-2 players and people AFKing doesn't harm anyone, but nuking does. Just swap servers if you're mad someone is afk, or maybe mind your own business and don't be malicious if you don't like Afkers? Is it a jealousy thing? AFK people don't take anything from you at all, so why care?
the only time i don't like AFKers is when there is more AFK players than players. otherwise, if you want the rare masks that is the only way to get them.

I get home from work just before the hour starts, I log in as fast as I can, go to helvetia, and AFK. Go eat dinner. Change clothes. While I'm done I got the rewards. Then I play for 1 hour and attend a fasnacht that I don't AFK. I live a balanced life. I need to be able to AFK a bit, but I'll participate when I can.
I can't blame people for wanting rare awards and having to go to such lengths.
I do both, help out all day, then afk at night. Honestly, nuking doesn't do anything except punish low levels.

Tip for AFKers: Be sure you have ricochet perk card on, your health maxed, a vampire weapon equipped, and the healing factor syrum. I came back after afk sleeping all night and there was a pile of bodies around me. Lololol

I was halfway through the event yesterday and someone nuked it to get back at the AFK players. I was unable to finish the event in time and unable to find another lobby. I don’t have much time after work to play and I haven’t gotten any rare masks yet.
I went AFK for the first time, I did it for the first 3 days well I was at work for 8 hrs. and It didn't help my chances of getting a rare mask. So, I just went back to not caring if I get one or not.
and just went back to playing for the 3-4 hrs I have when I get home. lol

I find that my new or super low level characters get the best rewards. I didn’t know the herdsman this was a thing until I created a new account and a new character. Got the herdsman rack 2 times back to back. And crazy guy mask soon after. Saw the same thing last year too. That is why I started playing with this low level character and it worked.

This is my first time doing this event. I only started playing about a month ago. Everytime I’m online I actually do the event but then I afk it when I have to go to work or go to sleep.

Yeah by the way I actually had two of the glowing masks honey beast and scorched beast sold those at vendor station for 5000 caps also I don't know if it's a visual glitch but I've seen some people being AFK over at the music area and their names are white there in the whole entire event instead of being yellow. Although I've seen the nuking the event as well about 5 minutes before it starts which I can see what they're doing that for, they're probably trying to get some free nuclear stabilizing material

Dont worry about what other people are doing, just do what you gotta do, to get things done. Dont let them ruin your day, but if its that bad, just leave to world find a new one.
Some of us work. The event runs for 2 weeks. We want the rewards too. If the drop rate wasnt so low and we had a chance for the 2 or 3 hours a night we get to play then it wouldnt be as bad of an issue.

Exactly. Those crybabies who nuke the event are more selfish than AFKers. They don't realize it also affects people who are actually doing the event. They'll hop to another server instead.
If you nuke the event sure that Fasnacht gets completed. But then most active players will switch servers and then the AFK players no longer get rewards. The other issue isn’t the lack of help at Fasnacht, it’s the lack of help at other events. What about the low levels that want to do Rad Rumble but nobody shows up because there are so many AFK players in a lobby. It’s not only the Fasnacht event. They are making the lobby’s and game feel dead.
I disagree with AFK. I play the game from launch I understand the desire for the masks. The sale of masks are the reason why I disagree with the strategy
For people like myself, the sale of the mask or plan etc.. is why I afk. I work 60 hours a week. So most events I can’t make. I run the event normal when I’m off work. But those afk runs are just bonus attempts for me so I don’t have to trade my entire earned caps to some greedy kid for a cool mask.
Make all the old masks legacy and all the old plans. Make the new masks and plans drop more
I run enough of the actual events that I don't feel bad about AFK'ing a few. Also everyone's pissed about the rewards but I've got a bunch of cool ones. Blue devil, honey bee, robot, jester, minotaur, pig and a few others
You should not hit fas with a nuke. You should hit the AFKers camps because they wont be there to move them.

I was in an event some hours ago, and no AFK Players were there. And they nuked the Fastnacht area without any reason.
And we were there to collect our rewards, and when message came, i ran straight in west direction till the rails. There the nuke zone ended and i was save. Even after this video i don't get it at all.
I do not know what is going on. I have an Xbox series S, an Xbox S, and an Xbox one, all plugged in and I’m using the rubber band method with it connected to the . I keep getting the pop-up that says please connect to controller. I’ve updated all of the firmware and set all of the machines to not turn off automatically. Anyone have any ideas?
Being able to play only a couple of hours per day due to work, I'm internally debating AFK to perhaps get a rare drop. And to be fair, there is nothing in the rules about AFK'ing, just bad style I guess
My humble opinion is: i really want glowing masks, so when i can participate and be useful i do it, but when im bussy y get afk and play instruments, but mostly i try to participate in the event
It's almost like the 76 community isn't as chill as we like to think.
They are most the most part. It's just that this event brings out their inner toxicity. Honestly, I blame Bethesda for this one because of how bad the drop rate is. There were AFKers in the past, but not to this extent.
As a person who ran like, maybe 20 and got 3 rare masks; one of which was the new Glowing SBQ mask, I don't care what people do. AFK, don't AFK, it's a silly little event. Anyone who is anti-afk is coping with the fact that when they run it they get nothing, and anyone who is pro-afk is sweating event rewards and also more than likely going to get nothing. It's random chance. Afk, don't afk, noodles, the point is to have fun and *try* to get something cool. No one was going to do another event while fasnacht is happening anyway.
I have no idea how many events I've run, either AFK or playing but between two accounts I've gotten four glowing masks and I just happened to get one of each so I feel extremely lucky. I've also gotten some other rare masks. I'll afk both accounts on different servers when I sleep or work. If I'm at or near my computer I just log in 5 minutes before the hour, help with the start tasks and then go afk unless there are few participants. Usually with a lot of people there I just stand around anyway so I might as well afk. If there aren't very many players or they are low level, I'll focus on being the last line of defense & using my flamer to heal the bots but I won't really put effort unless something gets through. I don't feel bad afking and don't care if people are afk when I'm participating. So many events get no participants as it is even when Fasnacht isn't happening. Today, I joined Free Range because a level 94 was there alone so I felt I should help. Two other players joined eventually and we got all the Brahmin to the end safely.
If you nuke the event while I'm active you will turn me into an afker as I stand at the finish and pop radaway while you do the work for making me have to enter my damn power armor. You've been warned.
I switch up from AFK and actually playing, I hardly do anything in either instance since everyone else kills every enemy the second they pop up
How the help do I keep my elite series controller from turning off? It won’t stop turning off and I don’t know how to stop it!
Wo many people and explosions i get low framerate in some events. Not worth playing but i still want the daily scrip caps and notes. 😅 i play some events when im not at work. And i dont mind afk
Be in the event but don't participate just go on the other side so your game doesn't crash middle of the event iv had it hit a few times
The amount of events I’ve run that have crashed is ridiculous hundreds of events 1 glowing
I don’t even put up a camp in Helvetia anymore. It’s honestly ridiculous the amount of nukes that occur. When you nuke the event you not only ruin it for AFKers but you ruin it for EVERYONE! 😞
