The video came out today and I've listened it maybe fifty times. I believe the story of this knight is that he is still hunting its own regrets, the defeat of his pasts, even under the sun. He is defeated by himself, by his own horse and capability to ride it as by the black knight who seems to appear only in his mind. He is living again and again the old battle he lost but he was his main weakness that's why his memories hunt him. Voilà Voilà, love you Beirut, love your music, it's food for soul.

I finally get why Latin America loves this band. It's because Beirut is from New Mexico with musical influence from Mexico. But I just love Balkan folk music so that's why I'm here. Beirut truly unites us all
Also the song Elephant Gun was on a Brazilian TV series called Capitu, inspired by the acclaimed Brazilian novel “Dom Casmurro”. I personally haven’t watched it, but I think it might be where a lot of the Brazilian people listening came across this group. I think they’re amazing and hope you keep listening as this new album sounds like it’s going to be really good. Cheers from Brazil 🇧🇷.

@@GuadalupePicasso I kindly disagree. I feel like a lot of the stuff on both their first and second album might be influenced by latin music, although those sound way more baltic than The Rip Tide. So I totally get where youre coming from. Cheers!
Aron Sveinsson I’ll have to listen to them again, but I don’t remember hearing a single Latin influence on either Gulag Orkestar or The Flying Club Cup. For the record, I consider their double-EP March Of The Zapotec to be their 3rd album, and I say that that is their first to really use Latin influences is because it was actually recorded with a bunch of street musicians in Mexico.
