As much as I agree with you I'm too young to have seen it in the day. Fucked Up nearly broke my hip in Leeds. They are the closest I've seen to that chaos
I saw Rollins Band at the Opera House in Toronto back in I wanna say 02' maybe 03' and it was an absolutely awesome show, great venue, front row, couldn't ask for more. Kicked ass.
Black Flag is great. Sex Pistols, Sham 69, The Ramones, Black Flag, The Clash are all early favorites. I have some old recordings on cassette that I transferred to an MP3 player for the car. People have no clue what I'm listening to.
I had the privilege of speaking with Henry for nearly an hour a few days ago after one of his spoken word shows. He's extremely proud to be an American, and even if he questions some of the things that happen in his country he wouldn't disrespect it by doing that.
i love your youtube name. quite rad. i agree with your sentiment also. they all had their moments respectively. even unlce dez did a good snarling job during his time on the mic...hell, he snarled quite radly during his time playing git fiddle too.
Extremely belated reply, but hell yeah they did! More people should spread the love instead of trying to argue and gatekeep and put down any of their singers.
I love how people talk about great Keith Morris was in Black Flag just to rip on Henry. It's funny how those same people never say that Keith was great in the Circle Jerks. It's all about claiming poser points by disrespecting Henry.
@DoctorRobertBobby Why is it weird Keith is doing backing vocals? This song was from the Rollins years. And Keith sang the songs from his era in the band with Henry backing him.
@Adroitism I use Fl studios as well BTW. The only reason why i was talking shit on punk and rock is because Henry Rollins was talking shit about djs and electronic music. If he wants to be respected as a musician then he needs to appreciate all forms of music. As a trance musician i like some rock songs too (not punk) but only the instrumental parts. I'm not into rock singing.
obscuritystunt yeah his voice seemed really rough. sucks but maybe if he ever reunited with Black Flag he may sound better since this is 2002 and he would actually try his best :)
@JulyArises I never hear hardcore on the radio. I've heard killswitch engage, shadows fall, metallica, ozzy osbourne, iron maiden, etc... all over the radio. If your hearing hardcore on the radio, point me in that direction.
@Theboxer500 i understand the popularity issue . i will just say this ,i really do not care about whatever it is you call "rock".. but as far as punk goes......" it(punk) will never go out of style , because it never was in style to begin with" that was said years ago by wattie from the outstanding punk band"the exploited" seeing as though we are on a black flag video .. i am ONLY talking about punk
Keith, Kira, henry what the hell? THIS IS AMAZING
As much as I agree with you I'm too young to have seen it in the day. Fucked Up nearly broke my hip in Leeds. They are the closest I've seen to that chaos
Henry Rollins FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lmao fuuuck no. If there was any singer from a band that should be president it's either Dave mustang, or Brandon boyd
^^ no
Rebecca Beaver Or mike ness.
Elliott Dombrowski Put both on the ticket. Id pound pavement for that.
Greg Graffin

Love Henry Rollins, seen all his docs..... Real punk, real tight real rythm
I want to press the like button a million times.
I wish I could've seen Rollins before he stopped doing music
This is awesome. I'd love him to gig again.
Me to but I don’t think he ever will again
I'm not sure if it's possible to find a more emotionally intense lyricist than Henry Rollins.
Overpowering forceful personality. Love it.
This is one of the best shows I saw..ever when it was on tour.
I am old enough to remember him and them in my youth in OC. Now just need to cue up some DI Guns and Richard Hung Himself.
thats kira singing with keith
What a positive Video with all the old members from Black Flag.
yup, I love it! when I first heard of him being straight edge, I was SO impressed!
Absolutely love it.
FANTÁSTICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@revblackflag True its Mother Superior but Henry Rollins is singing and Kieth Morris+Kira Roessler on the backing vocals.
The man!

Black Flag is great. Sex Pistols, Sham 69, The Ramones, Black Flag, The Clash are all early favorites. I have some old recordings on cassette that I transferred to an MP3 player for the car. People have no clue what I'm listening to.
So much fun.cool .🤘😂😎🤑🤪👽👍🤘

Yup, Keith and KIra....
Teleporting Toast yeah I didn't know Henry had ever been in the same room as him
Kira(bassist for Black Flag) won an Academy Award for her soundwork on George Miller's Mad Max FURY ROAD
un grande
Morris was my fav BF singer.
i love your youtube name. quite rad. i agree with your sentiment also. they all had their moments respectively. even unlce dez did a good snarling job during his time on the mic...hell, he snarled quite radly during his time playing git fiddle too.

every black flag vocalist did a great job imo
Extremely belated reply, but hell yeah they did!
More people should spread the love instead of trying to argue and gatekeep and put down any of their singers.
Wat year was this?
punkrocktrucker - 2003: West Memphis Three benefit gig.
This is the real black flag
@TyranusForte Yes !!!! he is, and the lady next to him is Kira !!!!
Overpowering forceful personality. Love it. Hes cool.
I feel like starting a fucking riot.
This is actually the Rollins band, not Black Flag.
no it's black flag after Keith Morris Stepped down as vocals to only be Rhythm Guitar
wrong. Dez Cadena did that. Morris was just vocals
Indeed! First time I saw them @ The Paradise in Boston(John Belushi was present @ the gig)was with Dez in 1981.
I love black flag.
@TheVinssi ... Yep that's him.. Henry Rollins. :)
Benefit show for the Memphis 3 -Live 2002 at the Whiskey

Mitch Kasse
Ooooohhh
Damn, I love Zaheer
@Gorgosaure he's old now lol. dude he was practically a kid when he recorded this.
Well that goes to show...1981 was a long time ago.
@ratmanbowers no, it was written by Ginn..
Getting a damn headache from the video flashes .
But of course, luv Henry Rollins 😁🤘
and now they are free
Is that Keith Morris on back vocals?
@TFISHER666 Lol well a couple of Mother Superior were in the Rollins Band
the girl next to keith is KIRA right?
@Adroitism I use Fl studios as well BTW. The only reason why i was talking shit on punk and rock is because Henry Rollins was talking shit about djs and electronic music. Went to irving plaza
Rollins is the man!
che robbba!
@Moochi96 just wanted to thanks for pointed out 1:10 on the "rise above" video , made my day ....
@orgyofdeath No its Keith Morris from Circle Jerks.
Weston is singing ! :)
You can tell his voice is shot...last song of the show and it doesn't even sound like him anymore.
obscuritystunt yeah his voice seemed really rough. sucks but maybe if he ever reunited with Black Flag he may sound better since this is 2002 and he would actually try his best :)
Jesus man. We age bro. I mean show little grace
I actually think his voice here is stronger than it was with black flag in the 80s
@MrJimbofox Jim, read "Get in the Van", you'll see what i mean.
Is Kira on backing vocals?
fuck yea
@DoctorRobertBobby ...Well for me something seems wrong about not seeing Kira play the bass.
henry rollins and foo fighters need to do this song together
Keith and kira??
Keith Morris on secondary vocals!!!!??? Ah hahahahahah!
@JulyArises I never hear hardcore on the radio. I've heard killswitch engage, shadows fall, metallica, ozzy osbourne, iron maiden, etc... all over the radio. If your hearing hardcore on the radio, point me in that direction.
Is there more footage available?
One of Henry’s better efforts. I thought the girl in the black dress was impressive.
I have anger management issues. Bloody nose or not, I bet moshing would be amazingly therapeutic, and a great workout.
ah, to be young again..................sigh
Henry looks so pissed like when they used to do shows at CBGBs
@Gorgosaure i agree, the downside to getting older
holy fuck it's Weston!!
If anyone has a short attention span, it's punk listeners. Look at how short all the songs are.
lol look up You Suffer by Napalm Death, grindcore has punk beat for song length I think
Hate that Rollins is NOT lead on the 2019 tour! 😕
Henry Rollins was awesome in his early stuff with BF, but man there are parts of Family Man and the later shit that is just unlistenable.
Family man, i gave that album away for free. It was such crap!
when did this happen!?
@DoctorRobertBobby Why? He was out of the band by the time Rise Above was a song.
2002
@olboardmoaier i don't know it's just not my type of music.
It seems like his words are a lot more separated than the black flag days
when was this? it looks pretty new
Kira?
