    Wow just received a pair I remember v-moda first generation cans were TANKS heavy! So when I got this tiny box from outside my door I was thinking there has to be a mistake. They have considerably reduced the size and weight of these since then, very comfortable for long sessions and the sound is amazing. You can switch from different genres of music and these will produce crystal clear sound. Bass is subjective to the listener how much you prefer, but these produced more than enough for my taste especially when listening to HD recordings.

    Would you say these are a good choice for FPS gaming with light music?(hip hop, country, bluegrass, metal) I have a stand alone mic and looking to get a pair of really good quality closed back headphones for gaming. I'm not an audiophile but I can appreciate the better quality. I had an original pair of crossfade LPs back in like 2011 and I loved them for music. I was looking at m200s but I can get these with a fiio e10k for about the same price. What would your recommendation be, even if it's another brand

    • @jordanash
      @jordanash  Před 3 lety +2

      These are more naturally EQ'ed than the others. I'd suggest a pair of regular M-100's. They have more bass and general sound signature.

    Im searching for a flexible headphone for using at home. I have other Headphones for mobile use and for audiophile use, so this headphone should be an Allrounder for gaming, Film and music (Most Electronic music, so should make fun and have a good bass, not too neutral).

    Do they fit completely over the ears like Beyerdynamic's do? Or, is the fit more like the MDR07506?, like 1/2 on and 1/2 off. ? Also, I just got Beyerdynmamic DT 990 Pro Limited with a KnoxGear amp. They sound great compared to my old MDR set, but had to detune the bass with my EQ; otherwise, I couldn't get them loud without distortion.
    Would you say that these have better sound/bass/detail than the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro?

    Quick Question, my V-moda m-100 crossfade died on me (right cup stopped working) so I am looking for another headset, I am leaning to the master. Do you suggest a DAC for it?

    • @rolly084
      @rolly084 Před 3 lety

      I use m100 master, basically you do not need dac or headamp, but dac will help clear out the sound, and using headamp is give more oomph to this beast. I use dragon fly black 1.5 it really give more power for sure. So either is you using headamp dac or not depend on your regular use. And yes little bit hassle to use headamp everytime you want to use but its nice to have to listen for long time use like music, movie even gaming. So m100 master best for just plug and play even more power and cleaner with headamp dac

    • @theallgamesfan
      @theallgamesfan Před 3 lety

      @@rolly084 Thanks for the response. I mainly use the boommic pro on my pc, so i must use one where i can split mic/audio (so not the dragon fly i guess). Then again my motherboard is supported up to 600 Ohms with a good chip, apparently. So I would need to actually try the dac/amp and just return it if it does not make that much of a difference. I have no clue which one though, heard that the gsx300 from sennheiser (or epos actually) ,was ok.

    • @rolly084
      @rolly084 Před 3 lety +2

      @@theallgamesfan yes, i use boom mic pro too, its really great mic, and if you use onboard with built in amp, i have a tips maybe you already know but here it goes, first unplug the cable that attach into your headphone and then plug into pc then plug into the headphone. This way to force to amp detect you are using higher amps, and allow for more power. 😁 It force to amp to give more power, and result its more oomph for your vmoda.
      Oh ya this trick is applied on every headphone that can cable can be unplug on the headphone unit

    • @BobMarley-zu5sc
      @BobMarley-zu5sc Před 3 lety

      @@rolly084 That doesn't make any sense and unplugging the cable shouldn't make any difference. Motherboards without built in audio software give the same power output for anything thats plugged into them, but modern ones come with software that sometimes let you play around with audio output.

    • @BobMarley-zu5sc
      @BobMarley-zu5sc Před 3 lety

      @@theallgamesfan The Schiit Hel might be a good one if you need to split mic and headphone. Also may i ask what motherboard you use? Because with most modern ones the audio output is clean enough as it is, and if your motherboard can drive your headphones loud enough an amp shouldn't make too much of a difference.
      What might make a difference are some devices that clean up usb audio before feeding them into a dac (ifi usb purifier), but if you buy one of those you are going to need a seperate dac & amp or dac/amp combo to use it with, which may end up costing you a lot of money.
      If you got the money for it thats your best bet for a cleaner audio signal.

      I just got the original m-100 for this reason... I listen to a lot of styles of hard rock and metal (Black Sabbath, Metallica, AC DC, Rush, Soundgarden, Dream Theater, Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest.. etc) and they are pretty damn good. I thought the bass was slightly too high on some songs (eg. Forty Six & 2 by Tool) so I used an equalizer to lower it just a tad notch. I really like the bass for gaming though!
