Thanks so much for posting this. I remember seeing this Parkinson show in 1979 and being blown away by her divineness. She was like a breath of fresh air.
I have been a fan of Bette since her first album. Especially the jazz, swing and blues songs. What a masterful live performer she is. Funny, original and wild, but always spot on the music.
thanks you so much for posting this. It is so great. She is my idol and I love her in these kinds of interviews if you know what I mean. lol. Thanks again
That's Raoul Heertje, a dutch comedian. This video is part of a show broadcasted a few years ago on dutch television. Raoul Heertje was the main guest and the clips they showed were about his favourite artists, subjects and films.
LMFAO! Love it! Wow, 3 years before I was born... Long live the Divine! I wanna see if I have the correct Harlettes here. I know in the green is Linda Hart, in the yellow is Paulette McWilliams, & in the blue is Franny Eisenberg, correct?
Yes, I love her since her shows were broadcasted here in the Netherlands in the late 70's. When I saw the film The Rose I became a huge fan. I hope she will tour again in Europe soon. The last time was about 30 years ago (for as far as I know). Is Michael Parkinson still in the business? I love the moment when he tries not to laugh at 4.33, but hopelessly fails, lol.
Sorry, that's not Katey Segal. The three Harlettes here are Franny Eisenberg McCartney (blue), Paulette McWilliams (yellow) and Linda Hart (green). Katey did not do this tour.

My favorite joke!!
"Flat-foot Floozie wants a good boy!" Words to live by, indeed. (I love you, Miss M!)
Bette's 63 today, 12-01-08 and funny as ever!
Keep goin' Bette!
My favorite joke!! Sophie and laundry!
Yes, it is Katey Sagal. She was one of Bette Midler`s Backround singers called "Harlettes".

Yes, I think you're right. I have the Divine Madnessvideo on VHS, but it's stored in a box. I'll check it out when I can.
Yes, you're right. This was when she did the Divine Madness show in Europe.

Great video! thanks for uploading. quick question: who is the guy in the white jacket??
Maybe she can do a final farewell tour through Europe after Vegas. I'm sure it would be a sold out tour. We'll see.
You're welcome!
You're very welcome, llfan2006.

I'm pretty sure it is Katey Sagal in the blue.
the girl in the green dress looks like the lady in STELLA as like her bar tending friend i believe(:
isn't the backup singer in the blue, katey segal?
burtihal is right. That is not Katey Sagal. She toured later with Bette. This is funny though.
who is the guy sitting at the table? not the guy interviewing...
Chuleta!
Yeah and saved by Cyndi's unbelievable bersatility and patience. What Patti did here was almost an assault imho.
what with the creepy guy sitting at the desk ?
Chuleta.
Lady Gaga... take notes!
