  • Synth-Pad pioneer Bill Bruford with this very nice tune from the second Super Drumming serie. I'll search my CD's for the title because I know the tune for sure or you may come up with it, enjoy for now anyway and comment if you like to.

Bassist Wolfgang Schmid is from Passport featuring Klaus Doldinger. This is a really nice jam with the master Bill Bruford.

Super drumming was an incredibly good series! And I love Bruford's Earthworks' first two albums. Great! Simply great drumming. Seen them live two times back then...

Love the fill at 3:43. Thanks for posting this! I need to go out and get myself some Earthworks material for sure. Bruford is at the top of my list of drummers and always will be.

Bruford always looks so relaxed. Most of the time he's smiling back there. My favorite all-time drummer. Too bad he's retired. He says he'll never play on another record or play live again. That's very rare for a musician to do unless they're physically incapable of playing. He says that he's contributed all that he can to music. I disagree. Too bad Mick Jagger and Keith Richards don't follow suit.

I think Bruford is tired of playing the same stuff all the time, even though he is one of the greatest players and innovators that ever held the sticks
edit: and maybe he got tired of music altogether, it is not that rare of an occurance.

Thing is, he's not trying to make them sound acoustic. He's embracing the electronic sound

Up North is the title of the song

@jamesedwardtheobald I'm pretty sure he's healthy and still physically able to play. I think he retired b/c he felt like he had done enough. I disagree with that. Do you have a favorite Bruford moment? Moments? MIne would have to be the drumming on "South Side of the Sky" & "Heart of the Sunrise." Also, just about every song from King Crimson's "Discipline," "Beat," and "Three of a Perfect Pair." I could go on and on.

I love bill Bruford but not the electronic drum stuff as much. One of a Kind is an unbelievable album with Holdsworth on it. This sax player sounds so much like David Sanborn it’s a trip.
