This is pro level for sure! Looks like Top Gear level.
Now now, I wouldn't go that far. ;) Top Gear's cinematography is next level. But thank you!
Great tips! Especially on capturing audio.
Stay tuned, I’ve got an audio specific video coming soon.
Thank you for the amazing tips! Last week we had our first attempt with Porsche Taycan Turbo, dealer loved it and want us to continue working with them!
Awesome news!
bro the tip on strapping the mic to the car is genius. i been trying to figure out how to make the sound design better. Thank you!
Happy to help!
0:38 M hmm
This will be our First attempt project... Great tutorial we’ll follow your advice for sure. Thanks man!
Have fun! Feel free to DM me with what you created.
Awesome stuff and great presented video. Will be using these tips for my channel. Thanks!
Heck yeah! Thanks for checking it out.
Thanks it really helped every second of it was better then the other. Thanks a lot I really needed that.
Great ideas and suggestions... sometimes, with really reflective cars - you can see the camera in the shot, so I've used some diffusers and sheets even to block my image. Also, a small handheld LED helps to place underneath a car, tire well, dark areas.
Great tips! I especially like the diffusion trick. It's tough to stay out of reflections.
Awesome tips. Thanks for sharing these
This is crucial information, very well planned. Good stuff man!
Appreciate it!
Awesome video man thanks subscribed!! 😎👍🏼
Thanks for the sub! Hope you enjoy the new content.
Great tips as always. Thanks for sharing bro!!
Thank you brother!!!
Good stuff man. Loved the audio tips. Planning is my absolute biggest weekness for shooting cars 😅
Thanks! Ya know something....I either over-plan or dont plan at all. If I'm shooting with a team, I like to make sure everyone is on the same page but if its just me, I can go either way. At the very least, I have a small list on my iphone's notes app with checkboxes for shots.
Amazing video, professional level and clean! Thank you, I will employ these tips once I get my vintage truck in the coming weeks :D
Glad it was helpful!
Really cool tips, thank you mate! Keep up the good work!
Happy to help!
That was dope! I’m just starting out and was wondering how to capture the sound and you answered all the questions.
Glad I could help. Make sure you watch part 2 to this video!

You're welcome!
Great tips and pretty much all applicable to creating content for my photography channel.
Great point! Thank you for checking the video out.
Thanks for your video man :) Defo engine’s details are what I need to pay closer attention from now 😀!!!
I love filming engine bays. One shot I like to do is a reveal, where the camera starts with the hood in frame, then I pan so the engine is revealed
Very helpful and great suggestions . all around great video for this kind of project
Glad it was helpful!
Great tipps, thanks!
Those audio tips for the lav mic taped to the outside of the car are absolute gold!!

Awesome tips! I've been doing car photography for a while just as a hobby but want to now make the jump to doing videos as well so really appreciate a professional sharing information like this for us noobs!
Glad they helped! I'd love to see what you come up with. You're more than welcome to join the Driven Films Discord server to share what you film.
First, I absolute LOVE the content man! Definitely top class info. However, I'm just looking to grab a few clips during car meets and throw them together. I'll browse your channel and see if I can find a "watered down" version of some tips. Again, this video was amazing, just above my head a bit. lol
Fair enough. What exactly are you looking to learn?
@@joenicklo I have a decent amount of gear from shooting real estate photography, but on the weekends I like to go to car shows and capture photos/videos while there (some examples on my channel). Since I do quite a bit of moving around I try to carry as few items as possible. Usually my a7iii, a lens or two, and my Air2s. If you have any tips for a "run and gun" style video that would be awesome. The cars are usually parked fairly close and I'm consistently working around other spectators.
Dope video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Really helpfull tq so much....!!!!
You are welcome 😊
Great insight and tips of your process. It's one thing to discuss the fundamentals of film making, but it resonates so much more when you can see applied to a real case scenario. Appreciate you creating this.
Really glad you liked this. I try really hard to not just "tell" but "show". More videos on stuff like this coming soon.
This channel is extremely underrated. More power to you man
Thank you! Slowly but surely growing!
@@joenicklo I certainly hope so. I did try a car Broll the other day, [Please don't even look at it], and I wish I would've seen one of your video. I am gonna try again and I will give you the credit for it cause I am honestly doing it because of you. Keep creating. Here to stay
Great tips and advice!
Thanks!
Great Content, directly subscribed. Especially how to record audio for cars would be great to get more details. Cheers from Germany
Thanks for subscribing. I’ll be doing an in-depth video on recording car audio really soon!
@@joenicklo thank you. Great to see that you use the bmpcc 👍🏻
Paule Porter it’s such an amazing camera. I love it
@@joenicklo totally I agree I use the bmpcc 6k along with my eosR and couldn't be happier
THANKS so much for cutting straight to the chase ❤🎉
You're welcome. Be sure to watch part 2 and 3!!!
@@joenicklo thanks for the reminder, I’ll watch it in a minute! ( didn’t realise there is part 2 and 3 ) 🥰😇
This was helpful, thanks from a local car enthusiast 🙌🏽

dope videos man!
Ty!
Great tip on getting under the hood never thought about that. Im doing my first automotive filming tomorrow
Glad I could help. Hope your shoot went well.
Thanks for this video! I'm looking to carry some of these techniques over to Unreal Engine.
Glad I could help!
Awesome video! Glad i found your channel. What is the song in the beginning? Sounds cool 😎
I'm sorry I really dont recall which song I used and I dont have the project file for this edit anymore. It was most likely off of Soundstripe though.
Great Advice!
Glad it was helpful!
The mood-board tip is pure gold! We use it for designs, but never thought to apply it to filmmaking! Excited to give it a try. Fantastic quality vid as usual! 👏
Glad it was helpful!
wow so many good ideias provided...
Thanks! Be sure to watch part 2: czcams.com/video/UNkRnNAgqNE/video.html

I made a similar CINEMATIC video of my KIA SELTOS using the iPhone. I used some of your guidelines. Thanks buddy!

Amazing tutorial dude. You're a life saver!... I just loved the way you explained so many details in a elaborated manner. keep it up.. Subbed already :D :)
Glad it helped! TY for subbing.
i currently plan on making videos in a video games to create some sort of showcase of what i'd be able to do on a real set with real car, it might sound silly but tbh i think videos games offers amazing tools to get into photo and videography.
when i showed some of my shots from FH5 most people didnt even realize it wasnt real haha
Thanks for the tips it will definitly help me!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Check out part 2!!
Love the mood board and sort of include some storyboard elements when I use this with portrait shoots. I send it to the client ahead of time so we can organize the shoot and get on the same page. Great tip!
Not going to lie, making moodboards is actually a lot of fun! And you make a great point about sending this stuff to the client! All of the steps I mentioned in the planning section are great ways to communicate your ideas with the client!
Im impressed by creators who can plan before hand. Im so bad at this I usually dont know the mood until I sit in post.
Then again, I rely more on kind of vlogging through my videos so the mood sets itself for me I suppose.
thanks dude
No problem!
New subscriber here sir pinoy watching from qatar AK custom carcare ,, i luv watching ur videos very informative and helpful 🥂👌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks! Glad you like the content.
Another great video man! I see your sub count rising!!!!
Appreciate that brother!
The best tips, could you do some videos about the story/mood board? thanks in regards
Thanks! What in particular would you like to know about the storyboard and mood boards?
Anything
Valuable info
Glad you thought so
thanks a lot ♥
You're welcome
You definitely deserve more attention! Great content brother
I appreciate that bro. More coming soon.
Very nice! How about frame rates and shutter for the fast shots?
Depending on what you're shooting (fast moving? engine beauty shots) I stay 180 degree shutter or 90 degree if its fast moving.
Parabéns e obrigado por compartilhar seu conhecimento.

This is a fascinating and very helpful video! Do you know where I can find some completed projects that I can watch for inspiration?
On my website. Link in the description.
clean man! i appreciate your work!
Thanks!!!
Those audio tips are great, I wouldn’t have thought of them. Think a shotgun mic would be worth adding? And do the Zooms not pick up any knocks, etc?
Shotgun is directional so where you point it, it will pickup sound. So let's say you've got the mic pointed at the road, that's where it will primarily pickup the sound. I'm not an audio engineer and by no means the authority on recording sound but that's just how I do it. I'd stick with Lav mics for budget jobs. If I need something high-end, I'm hiring a sound guy. As for knocks, what do you mean?
Nice one and the one more subscriber
Appreciate the subscription!
great!
Gorgeous shots! Also a fellow GH5 filmer here. Great stuff!
Thank you! Man...I haven’t shot on my GH5S lately but it’s still a really good camera!
Good Video I like how you went into details while you were talking I'm really trying to get into photography and this helped me get some ideas flowing
Awesome, thank you!
0:21 that's Ameri-cat!! He lives here in Miami and does a lot of shipping work and usually drives that badass beast up and down the states !. What a shocker to see it in this video 😍
He doesn't live in Miami, but yeah man.
Very good video
Thanks!

Great tips, I use 4 out of 5, glad I’m I’m not too far off, just need more practice. I also use a “Slider” on occasion. Keep up the good work!🤙🏻🇺🇸
@@woohooproductions8741 Sliders are definitely a great tool!
Super Content buddy 👀👌🏻👌🏻
@@oodoo_wrld I appreciate it! Thanks for watching.
+1 on use of sliders - also shoot in 4K / deliver in 1080p and you can add panning movement to externally mounted cameras in edit
I`m going to shoot my first automotive film in a few weeks. You inspired me massively with this one! Cheers
I’m so happy to hear that. Feel free to share your work in the driven films Discord
Mic on the mirror.... Genius.
Glad you liked that. Helps block wind big time.
Very good tips 👏😉👍🏻 i actually try to make a carporn of my C63 😀💪🏼 best cinematic greetings from a small german filmmaker #filmmakingismypassion
Hello, thanks for checking this out. Feel free to share your films on my discord channel 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Nice
great tips, how about filters?
Awesome question. Start with a Circular Polarizer and a good ND filter. You can see which filters I suggest here: kit.co/drivenfilms/driven-films-suggested-filters-circular
Awesome tips! Definitely gonna try out those lav mic ideas. Audio can be painful 😅
You got this!
Top effort mate!
Thanks!
Your tips are a breath of fresh air .. I thought I was the only in the filmmaker world that don’t like to rely on gimbals. I truly think hand held and tri pod shots seemed more natural .
I think that unfortunately, a lot of younger filmmakers see gimbal shots from their favorite youtubers and tying that they need to do that too. I’m about to post a car show video that I filmed 100% handheld for 7hrs in one day! I couldn’t imagine walking around with a gimbal for 7 hrs...it comes down to being practical too!
Driven Films I think you’re totally right !
I once fell victim to that . But once i seen how inconvenient carrying a ronin m was I scaled back the use of it . honestly I think not using a gimbal opens the door for more creativity. I can’t wait to see your 100% handheld car show vid 🙏🏽
Jones Media it’ll be posted Monday :) along with something special to follow it.
Good information i learn something from it
Hay bye the way what's the background music name..
The startup B Rools
I'm really not sure what the song was, it's been so long. It was probably something off of Soundstripe.com though. That's what I use for my CZcams videos.
teşekkürler
