  • In May 2020, Italian supercar maker Ferrari soared to a $30 billion market value, beating the top three major U.S. automakers. Compared to GM, Ford, and Fiat-Chrysler, Ferrari is a small carmaker known for limiting production and only makes about 10,000 units per year. But the auto industry is poised for some tremendous changes that raise questions about the long-term future of even high-end exotics

      @@whatsappdripcar3104 that is not entirely correct. While they do have one of the biggest budgets in the class, they're evenly matched by Mercedes and Red Bull Racing. Different sources will show you that the three spend around 400 million a year. It is true, though, that they haven't wond a world championship since the last decade and this creates a lot of pressure on the team but this happens to every team that stays in F1 for too long, like McLaren and Williams.

    There will always be a market for super luxury sports cars , no matter that everybody has gone electric, the feel of having a big powerful engine and the noise it produces is enough to rich and enthusiast people to buy those cars. Also, the luxury of the Italian car brands and the beautiful designs are something that you may never have in an electric car with vegan interior, it's like saying that luxury restaurants and resorts may have troubles in future because of the Airbnb platforms but we all know they will stay.

    The thing with Ferrari is that they have "trained" their clients. To be given the opportunity to buy an exclusive car, like the 488 Pista, you must first have boughten an "average" Ferrari. Ferrari is good at keeping the demand higher than the cars that they will make, and good at selling "average" cars because the only way you can get an ultra exclusive Ferrari is by owning another Ferrari. Ferrari creates a demand for their average cars by creating an exclusive car.

At 15:15 it states its margins are 24% as opposed to the 5% in GM which is 5x the margins. Not only that, since Ferrari's on average are worth more than 10x+ an average GM's price, that 24% margin is much, much larger than it seems due to how Ferrari's pricing scale.
      LONG STORY SHORT: A 24% Margin on a 2 Million dollar car is about $450,000 in profit, while a 5% margin on a 35,000 dollar GM car is about $1750. Selling 1 Ferrari = Selling 270 GM Cars. Math sure is wonderful!

    The Ferrari brand owes part of its unique reputation with another, globally acclaimed, highly successful brand which you totally forgot to mention in your video. That brand is so valuable that it is literally a synonym of “quality”, “good taste” and “beauty”. Ferrari knows very well how much it owes to this brand and still today it names all its products after it. That brand is ITALY, you might have heard of it before.

      Outperformed is dependant on many things, such as the model. The MP4-12C beats the 458 Italia on track, but looking at the successors, the 488 GTB beats the 650S on track. And the 488 Pista completely smokes the 675LT on track.
      Ferrari also make the best engines, they’ve consecutively won a Best Engine of the Year award yearly since 2011. Their cars are engineered very well.
      And I agree with Ferrari being picky over who can buy their cars. Before I didn’t understand it at all. But now I do. There’s many car flippers around nowadays. That’s why even Ford had contracts of keeping the GT for a certain amount of time and I think Porsche did something similar. Plus brand reputation is very important. And Ferrari are just smart on a business scale, by creating demand for their base cars by making their exclusive cars exclusive to certain people because you need to have a certain amount of base versions you have the exclusive ones.

    • @LuisTrey
      @LuisTrey Před 3 lety

      Project R Well the the 675 LT wasn’t a competitor to the 488 Pista. Take a McLaren 765 LT or even the 720S and it would demolish the Pista on track and on a straight. Even a Porsche GT2 RS beats a Pista easily. Ferrari aren’t competition to companies like Lamborghini, Porsche, or McLaren anymore. Why do you think they never revealed the lap time of the LaFerrari when they went against the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder? They knew they got beat by the competition. They were just afraid to show it in order to keep the fake status they believe they possess.
