A trigger can cause a reaction of pleasure/happiness or pain/ fear. If I have a fear of being played & you do or say something that makes me feel that you are playing me, the trigger is what you said/ did. It doesn’t have to be something that I experienced personally. Whatever was done/ said triggered the reaction of fear/ paranoia.
If I love a woman that dresses sexy, & a woman dresses sexy for me, her doing that triggers the response of arousal with me.
The trigger is the cause. The reaction (fear, paranoia, pleasure, etc.) is the effect.

Insecure: feeling that are desired to be protected or prevented if unpleasant
Boundaries: protections to prevent insecurities from being exploited/
Trigger: an alert of a boundary being crossed or almost being crossed
Paranoid: False triggers signals or Hyper focused monitoring or boundaries
Men if you have a trigger, you have an insecurity. Stop feeling shame for having one. Identify what level of that insecurity, Setup a proper boundary, and response for boundaries being crossed. Not every insecurity should have Fort Knox security and can allow vulnerability if low risk.

Triggers happen in both good or bad memories… you could smell a fragrance that reminds you of someone you held close or you could smell a food that reminds you of that close call with a 🚽… being triggered doesn’t necessarily have to be a good or bad thing it has been primarily used in the negative sense and that is the major disconnect here…
