  • Lowering your car is a great way to get better handling and looks, but there are necessary parts required that go beyond lowering springs. Something like a #bumpsteer kit can greatly help your car whether on the street or on the track. By correcting the tie rod end to the correct position, a bumpsteer kit can eliminate that problem when you hit a bump and your #steering wheel jerks one way or another. Check out this video explaining what causes bumpsteer and how to fix it.

    Had this installed along with control arms in Valdosta. Jamie did some of the work actually. Good guy! As you can tell, he knows a hell of a lot about performance driving

    This is the best explaination of what you are adjusting from all the videos I've seen.

    Can you change these for without changing the lower control arms?

    90 percent of the alignment shops dont adjust bump steer. They dont deal with aftermarket parts.
    Many just guess on the correct spacers to put and deal with bump steer

    What is the wear like on a bump steer kit? Will the elements cause them to go bad quickly? Salt, Snow, Rain, Dirt, etc??

      Good question. Ungreasable pivot joint for the tierod end worries me that this would wear out rapidly.

      There is no correct answer, just have to make the arms parallel

    So does the Alignment Shop adjust your Bumpsteer componant or do we & if we have to adjust it, is it as simple as making the tie-rod straight again (seems like room for error without computer alignment)???

    • @steedaautosports
      @steedaautosports  Před rokem +2

      Ideally an alignment shop would adjust the bumpsteer when you lower the vehicle. The goal is to get the tie-rod level with the lower control arm, and then adjust the toe in or out to get the alignment in spec.

    Is this product on the Silver Bullet? Is it needed for drag racing applications?

    • @steedaautosports
      @steedaautosports  Před rokem

      Yes it is! In drag racing the front of the car will rise as you launch, this change in toe will cause bump steer and increase the front “scrub” and slow the car down. When we were battling to be the fastest Gen III NA Mustang in the world it was little things like bump steer, aero and our close lid intake that allowed us to still run the fastest pass on E85 to date of 143mph on Motor alone. All the little things like bump steer really add up.
