I think the one who will truly balance light and darkness is Kairi.
I believe in KH4 kairi will try to get stronger but can’t and she goes against Aqua’s orders and travel but still failing. She will be captured once more and forced into the damsel in distress role once more. When that happens her heart will crack allowing darkness to enter. And she will become Dark Kairi. However eventually she will learn that no one is truly pure light or darkness and that she had allowed her own darkness to take over. And she will realize that light and darkness are one in the same. And when she fights against light users she willingly transforms into dark Kairi but against heartless she uses light

To me, Light is truly Good while Darkness is truly Evil, but that doesn't mean that those who serve either side or utilize either power is truly good or evil. Riku use Dark powers, but serve the Light while the Master of Masters claims to serve the Light but use deception and trickery (both of which are qualities of Darkness) to accomplish his goals. Hearts are not just a source of power, but also battle grounds for Light and Darkness to claim one's being for their own.

Darkness often feels misguided or judged harshly in the series as most of the dark users in the series were just flat out bad people but darkness also grows stronger or finds those who give in to negative emotions like fear, sadness, anger and jealousy so it also leads into the belief that darkness bad light good.

The light good, dark bad dogma is something that even Destiny called it out. In Destiny, Light is the domain of the physical world. Things people can interact with. Darkness is the domain of emotion and memories. To put it bluntly, it is the power of the immaterial.
Maybe Light and Darkness works in a similar way in KH?

    • @thedothackerkeyblademaster
      @thedothackerkeyblademaster Před 2 měsíci

Interesting idea, though I'm not sure if that's really applicable to KH, since KH is takes place in a setting where material and immaterial can overlap with each other. Then again, that could still work if the difference between Light and Darkness isn't as clear cut as we've been led to believe, which seems to be what recent KH titles are hinting at. I think the issue here is, what Light and Darkness are in KH isn't really defined all that well, leading to different interpretations of what they are. I remember some years back, a small CZcams channel made a video suggesting that Light and Darkness in KH were analogous to Consciousness and Unconsciousness in Jungian Psychology (using Persona 4 to illustrate the point).

To quote my favorite Warrior of Darkness.
Light, Dark, it doesn't matter. What matters is how you choose to use them.
Riku and Terra are basically a perfect exploration for this. Sure Darkness is dangerous but if harnessed right? It’s a strong force of good. I love our Dark Knight best bois in Kingdom Hearts.

  • @kingsora7977

I can actually see what he means.
From a first-person perspective, the light is seen as something warm or comforting while darkness is seen as cold and fearful.
But it's not that simple. Even though there are people whose hearts are filled with light but there can still be seeds of darkness in them. and what causes this happen is when doubt seeps in. Much like with the foretellers they started to doubt one another due to what was said in the book of proficiencies there it said "beware the who bares the Siegel" Even if there wasn't much to go one they still couldn't trust one another knowing one of them could be a traitor.
Another case could be master erauqs. Though he was a keyblade wielder he raised his weapon against Terra and Ventus, he may have been following his role as master and a fellow wielder he still drew his blade at his own students.
Just goes to show. Light and darkness aren't just black and white

I've always thought that the conversation between Vanitas, Sora, and Ventus felt very open-ended. Basically, not-finished. I won't be surprised if Vanitas does come back, and it would be interesting to see Sora explore the philosophies of Light and Dark with the "help" of Vanitas or something 😮

  • @camdenthompson4307

Honestly kinda got a sort of different interpretation from Light & Darkness.
I honestly think its not as simple as "Light Good, Dark Bad", but I do think they're fairly close, but not truly correct. from what I have seen (and read from watching the Psychology video's from Bio-Roxas, which are insanely good) I think the nature of both is that they both describe Emotions as a whole, and are fueled by said emotions.
The Light is generally seen as good and pure. However, I generally believe its primarily fueled by Positive emotions, such as happiness, love, and peace, among other emotions. You can see this in a lot of characters who are more heavily use Light-based attacks, such as Sora, Ventus, Young Eraqus, etc. Its also generally associated with defensive abilities, like Cure & protect, however its not limited to only defense. In fact, several characters who do have specific elements, Like Lea and Aqua, generally are depicted being closer to positive depictions of their elements. Examples being Lea being a highly emotional and friendly person who just wants to brightens peoples day (much like how he was seen in BBS), much like how one could view fire. as well, Aqua, much like what is commonly depicted in water-users, is a calm, compassionate person. However, despite its positive connotation, its not just "Good only", which is where I think their taking the idea of light. Since the foretellers are all based on the 7 deadly sins, taking a look at them might get an idea as to how they might be. In fact, several of them (Namely Lust and Pride, although you could make a case for others Like Greed, Gluttony, and Sloth) could generally be seen as, albeit corruptions, of Generally Positive and/or neutral emotions, with only Wrath and Envy being the only two major exceptions.
The Darkness meanwhile is generally viewed as being the "Evil" path. However, several characters, namely Riku and Terra, are occasionally seen as good people. I think that, in truth, Darkness in KH is simply fueled by Negative emotions. The most common of these seen is usually Sadness, followed by anger. Besides those two, other emotions like hatred, anguish, fear, and others are generally viewed as being commonly associated with darkness. I think its no surprise the biggest piece of evidence towards this Vanitas, who is 1. implied to be one of the pure darkness's, and 2. literally created the Unversed, who are fueled by specifically NEGATIVE emotions. However, as Bio-Roxas has shown in his KH Psychology series, several characters who are generally seen as good tend to have some form of suffering in them, which could explain a whole lot of missing details. these namely include, but are not limited to: Anti-form, Anti-Aqua, Phantom Mirages particle effects, Riku being Good while still wielding Darkness, and lastly, The Heartless's attraction to keyblade wielders. In fact, one could view a lot of the KH universes "Creation myth" as an allegory for the world being a horrible place that will beat you down, but as long as there's still good and "Light", everything will be fine. The worlds starting in darkness is the world and the children are seen as the good that lights that heal the broken and cruel world. there's more you can unpack with this idea, but I'll leave it at here
Lastly, I wanted to simply list out a few other things in the KH universe that end up fitting well under this theory, I mainly thought it would be interesting to note these things:
the Nothingness is described as being the grey to light and darks White & Black respectively, and whereas Light and dark are fueled by emotions, The nobodies are explicitly lacking any emotion
Roxas wields both Light and darkness, which could symbolize the sheer amount of feeling's he's having. Namely Confusion, betrayal, regret, a loss of identity, hope, etc.
Aqua was able to survive in the land of darkness for so long, only until she began loosing her powers due to her loosing all hope, eventually becoming Anti-Aqua.
The whole idea of "The Heart", with the heart in most media being seen heavily connected to emotion.
Sora having the power to store hearts inside himself, essentially taking on their burden for their betterment while Xehanort is able to forcefully send his heart into other people, essentially making them feel what he feels.
The princesses of heart being Disney princesses, who are all seen generally being filled with positive feelings. while several of the Disney Villains are generally more Negatively driven and use Darkness
    etc.

I love the light there's so many characters that I love that are part of the light Ava, Brain, Vala, Hoder, Aqua, Skuld but the darkness has so much history the darkness is carried inside all of the foretellers the darkness possessed ven and attacked Strelitzia then it attacked the union leaders then the remaining willful darkness attacked Skuld, Ephemer and player while they were trying to escape then the darkness was extracted from Ven by Xahanort and became a person then that darkness Vanitas attacked Aqua and Terra and stalked Ven and then it attacked Ven and Aqua in the keyblade graveyard and then Vanitas attacked Sora later Vanitas attacked the guardians of light and was defeated by them in the final battle

  • @ansemthetrueseekerofdarkne2730

From my own Catholic understanding, The Devil himself was the angel of L-I-G-H-T, whereas we all sleep in darkness every single night. The Devil and his minions can easily recite scripture for their own sinister purposes, so this would be a fitting way to portray the "light" in a villainous way with the Master of Masters and his posse. Considering Xehanort's Baphomet armor, the heavy usage of the Fleur-Di-Lis, amongst many other usages of Christian symbolism throughout the series, this would be quite a fitting turn of events.

This is why Riku is so much more interesting than Sora, it’s not because darkness edgy and edgy things are complicated and cool. It’s because darkness is a tool than can be used just like any other. Darkness is not the same as Evil. To fight against this idea is what Roku kind of represents. He accepts the darkness as part of himself and uses it to do what he thinks is right. I’m not gun na lie though, my real guess is Square originally had light good dark bad, but they just kept getting more and weird with the story and they have to do more gray area stuff.

I feel like light and darkness in KH is most similar to the Force in Star Wars. They are two sides of the same coin, and both are necessary. The dark side of the force in and of itself is not inherently evil, and in fact understanding it is necessary to understand the Force as a whole. But tapping into the emotions necessary to bring it out corrupts the body and mind and effectively turns someone that uses it evil. It’s the same in Kingdom Hearts. Darkness is the shadow cast by the Light. One cannot exist without the other. But like with the dark side, Darkness corrupts and uses those whose will and purpose aren’t strong enough to master it. And even Someone like Xeanort who can use it like a tool can find themselves straying from the path they set. One has to keep them in equilibrium to master both without losing their way, which is why Riku is so powerful. He is one of the only Keyblade welders that can use it with no side effects because he has already overcome and accepted his darkness.

While Galeem wants to destroy the world for supposly rebuild it way better dharkon wants to conquer it for make it on his way without no one who opposes him. And what is the difference? No one because no matter who wins the spirits and fighters end up suffering and the only way for the fighters and spirits be free is by defeating them both
