  • In Brazil, anger over long-expected land reforms has seen a wave of protests. Activists from the Landless Workers Movement say President Lula da Silva, has not done enough.
But the conservative-dominated Congress is accusing him of siding with protesters.
Al Jazeera’s Monica Yanakiev has the story.

    Good for them.
I been to Brazil and I was astonished at the extreme wealth inequality and widespread racial discrimination.
That Van Hatten should back to Europe where he is from.

It's not that simply Brazilian land is full of acid. You need to terraform the land for about twenty years and you must move tons and tons "Lime" to neutralize the acid in soil before you can grow food. Even then you need tons of fertilizers to grow something with the consistence of "Sand". That why in Brazilian land is not good to grow food.

@@Madame702 no it's wrong, completely wrong, what you said is about the Cerrado biome. Mostly of Brazil the conditions of the solo are linked to a whole chain biodiversity.
This movement uses agrosintropic and agroflorestation with many cases of sucess they are the greatest produce of organic rice in america latina.
In this case you keep the natural bio and mineral cycle of the nutrients. When you take the forest the soil decay because the macronutrients are to soluble in water, what coferes the richness of the soil is the adition os organic matters in the surface of the soil that actived and protect the microlife of that soil that you turn diponible back again to the plant the nutrients that are lixiviating by the heavy tropical rains.
Once you kill this chain you have to fertlize it because nutrients are always going alway on the rain.
There many thing in this kind of method that has proofs of create 50 tons food per 10000 m2 of diverse organic food without the need of extra resources from outside the property according to Namaste Nesserschmith .
One should read Ana Primavesi studies and learn more about the Enrst Gotche experience to learn more.
What you said about the Cerrado biome that soil is fine too! For their especific biodiversity! Is more a case of negation of vocation.
There a lot os fruit and food from the cerrado biodiversity that could go very but have no interest of the food industry on that.
Then the Embrapa had created local tecnologies to destroy that biome in a desert of soy, that what you are talking, but it's wrong say this about the soil of brazil in general.

@@stefanrodrigues6131 Now to be fair to you in the 1980's and 1990's you did develop you own technology and manufacturing that was impressive. But under first Lula government the Chinese came in and raped you country of all your technology. (The Chinese stole it) Then the Chinese stole all your market share global trade. The Chinese destroyed your entire manufacturing base of Brazil. Brazil is now only a commodities producer and that about it.

@@stefanrodrigues6131 Sorry, but you got Royal screwed over by the Chinese and Lula government wants to give away more technology the Chinese. Not good, you need to get back your manufacturing and technology sector, but with Lula in charge he going screw you over again. So we see Brazil suffering under his leadership or should I say lack there of.

THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM, a lot of white people from the southern states are germanic descendants and the families that didn't come to the state capitals like his barely had mixed children, some of them just look like this. The problem is that he killed a man in a car accident 20 years ago and justice was never done to the guy's family because the police left the case expire. Al Jazeera should not be interviewing someone like this🤡
