- The guys from Petrolheadonism invited us to one of their supercar meets, we took a BMW S 1000 RR, lots of petrol and Chris for some Drag Racing fun on a runway. They threw everything they had at us, including a couple of crazy fast Teslas. We might arrange one of these events ourselves if anyone's up for it?

Also, you managed to launch the bike with the full beans over and over, embarrass some seriously fast cars AND not murder the clutch. You've done all bikers proud and I salute you for that.
I'm a simple man, I'll choose the bike over any of those cars. Those cars are beautiful don't get me wrong , but nothing compares to the raw feeling of going fast on a motorcycle!

I ride a Ducati 999 and also have a Tesla Model 3 Performance, it is sometimes a hard choice. Note: I also have an E46 M3, but that has been growing dust since the Tesla came around.

@@TheCaptainmojo1973 Very good assessment. I do live in Washington state and weather is hit or miss. I have seen sun, snow, and rain in the same day here. It may be a subconscious decision.

I believe this latest model didn't need one unless down shifting. It's quick shifter. Throttle wide open as he kick up

He's not talking about the shifting, the clutch when drop it, an engine already revving to be paired with the wheel smoothly makes clutches go boom

Bikes are designed to slip clutch. You can literally do it all day every day. I’ve not personally heard from anyone I know who had to replace the bikes clutch.

Finally one of these airstrip cars vs bike videos where the rider has more than 6 months experience.
The reliability on that bike is most impressive. Anyone can build something to be fast once or twice. But beating out challengers as long as you feel like doing it? Amazing.

Probably not that many. The people that have those cars got them for the luxury and speed. The Bike is faster, but the luxury and comfort isn't there.

Had a Rgv 250,Kr1s 250 ,Rg500 Gsxr 750 then started to drift away . I'm 45 now and even though I love bikes I would prefer a powerful and lightweight car which would have to be a Caterham 620r ....looks bonkers !
Nice to see this done by someone that can ride, unlike most of the bike vs cars on car channels where the bikes always lose.

@@KorpiSoturi1 the golf is street legal in Germany and runs golf 4motion 4 wheel drive and a turbo 2.0l gti engine with stock interior and would easily beat an s1000r and all superbikes and most street-legal cars and it's just a little golf with a big turbo very funny don't you think

It would be fun to take a bunch of bikes from the S1000RR right down to something like a CB650R to see the least amount of power you need to still beat each different supercar.
I had a zx6r that was pretty even 0-100 3.2 seconds with the blue Maclaren. Now I have a zx12r ninja that's 2.6 second 0-100. If I turbo the 12r they top out over 400kph
I just got a cb650r and that hurt my feelings :(
@@visco4916 Sorry! The CB650R is a great bike.. and still extremely quick. All I meant was, select bikes with a range of displacements to see how small an engine you can go to and still beat these cars. I reckon a CB650R would.

What's the top speed of a cb650 in first gear. If it has to change before 100kmh, it's out of the game

Finally someone who can launch! People are so afraid of slipping the crap out the clutch but they’re called slipper clutches for a reason, the clutch is literally in a bath of oil
Most of those guys in their supercars wouldn’t have the balls to ride a Superbike. We’re a little crazy and I love it. Proud superbike rider since 1990 here!
....and the average bike rider wouldn’t have beaten the average driver with the same equipment.

If any of those cars had to do so many of those launches I am pretty sure it would have ended in tears. Fast and reliable.
Surprised the tesla's didn't overheat the motors. They can't keep launching like that to many times.
@@chrishart8548 These days usually have a decent cool down time between each run. They will still get slower as their charge level drops but it won't make a massive difference once they're below 85% (the cut off for ludicrous).
Of course long term those batteries will be landfill much more quickly than the ones which get pootled to the shops but I doubt these owners will keep them long enough to care.

Man, you just put a really big smile on my face. Was talking to a Ferrari owner here in California Yesterday when I was out on my Bike and we were talking 0-60's. He was shocked how fast bikes go. I was happy with the conversation. You just proved it again!!

The absolute monstrous power kicks in when the bike goes from 2nd to 3rd gear. This 2 wheeler beast is one of the best creation of BMW.

I'm absolutely amazed at how the bike pulled away from the teslas. They are the 1/4 mile kings it would seem, but when the bike hit warp speed, it was all over.
Imma show car guys this video everytime they talk about how a heavily modded car beat a stock motorcycle.
A heavily modded car can. There’s not a stock motorcycle on earth that can do an 8-second quarter mile, and there aren’t many that can beat most good track cars around a track that doesn’t have long straights. Plenty of street legal cars can do one or the other, and some can do both.

I just understand what bikes and cars alike are and are not capable of. Virtually no factory car can outrun any supersport bike in a straight line, virtually no factory bike can outrun any decent track car on a racetrack, any good drag car can outrun most factory bikes on a dragstrip. It’s not my opinion, it’s fact. I love bikes, I love cars, bikes are generally more fun, cars are generally easier to go fast in.

Comparing a stock bike to a stock car is apples to apples but when you compare a stock bike to a overmodded drag car it isn't apples to apples anymore. In this sense you have to compare drag bikes to drag cars and track bikes to track cars. It isn't all black and white

Yeah those cars are pretty much what you need to beat a 600, and I'm not actually sure if all of them would beat a 600. The 1000s can only be beaten by hypercar class 1m$+ cars

@@gregmccauley1687 even then lol those £1million+ hyper cars, still have trouble beating a modern superbike with over 200bhp which is all useable thanks to electronics, they struggle to beat an old superbike over the last 20 years to be fair with the right rider who knows how to launch one without anti-wheelie

All good fun and would be a pleasure to own any of them. It’s easier and safer for average folks to drive a car fast compared to a bike, but the beauty of a bike is 1. The cost (anyone can afford a fast bike) and 2. A bike feels fast at relatively low speeds. You don’t have to ride like a maniac to enjoy a bike.

Superbikes for the last 20 years are no joke. Especially when properly tuned.
Ppl have no idea how fast a 1000 is. Nothing will touch them 50-150 until you get into 1500bhp+. Most vids on net ppl can't ride for shit hence why they look slower than they are

My 15 years old sv650 commuter with just 75hp is capable of a 0-60mph under 4sec. You need a very powerfull engine, good clutch and gearbox to do that in a car costing 100 times more than my bike. That's 1 thing I love about bikes but not the only one, acceleration is only a small part of bikes fun!
Watched an upload from one of the car ‘tubers’ sites the other day. No mention of there being a bike smashing the cars to bits. 🤣 To be fair though if the strip was 1/2 mile a couple of those cars would be chomping the bikes back wheel at the top end! So pleased that petrol heads (2 or 4 wheels) can still get together and have fun and show what modern machines are capable of. Keep up the good work.👍🏼😁

No production car will be able to outrun a bugatti, koenigsegg or most hyper cars. Many many moded GTRs, R8s, Amg gts will outrun the s1000RR(even in a straight line). Even an Rs6 wagon will be able to keep up with it. Also bikers get their brains smashed and scattered on the road, some loses a hand or a leg and a lot of time it's not even their fault. You won't ever get the safety of a on a bike

Quietly impressed that so many cars could stay anywhere near it.
Humbling to think the Kawasaki 750 turbo I had in 1985 would have come last, and probably by a long way.

It should be noted that pretty much every 1000cc sportbike from 2005 and up would have the same results
A lot of the nakeds/sport tourers too. Basically anything that can get in the 10's over a 1/4 and thats a LOT of bikes.

After owning one, yeah definitely super car killers. The sound of s1k is just beautiful. I remember playing with lambos, McLaren, Ferrari and it's not even close but it's all about having fun and we had a good time for sure.
Although a pointless race, as we all knew the outcome anyway, it's always nice to see someone launch a bike so impressively. Well done, liked it :)

Hands down for that biker!!! Epic launches. I can keep my hands up all day too in awe :D
best part is the s1000rr still has the stock pipe, probably stock mapping, and it's known to have major restrictions, especially in the North American bikes due to California emissions.
2nd-4th gears there's massive power drop offs to the point where once a pipe and tunevis thrown on there's up to 80hp gains, 50hp on average. I can only imaging how it would do after some proper tuning.
Wasn't sure if I was gonna ride tomorrow...

A liter bike will always beat a car in acceleration. Top speeds generally goes in the car's favor with the elite super cars. But that launch on a bike never gets old. Feels like you are holding on to a literal rocket.
