    The prefix “mega” refers to 10 raised to the power of 6-a.k.a, one million. While Santa Cruz’s Megatower might not have a million millimeters of travel, it does have mega (well, a lot of) adjustability, including bottom-bracket height and chainstay length, which lets riders dial the bike to their preferred specs. Not being overly long, low or slack, the Megatower capitalizes on a mix of agility and send-ability, creating a bike that is precise and predictable in every scenario.
    Correction: The rear travel of the Megatower is 160mm, not 165mm as stated in the video.

    I'm amazed by how good your voice-over is while riding and the audio quality, and the riding footage is great as well!

    I would sound like a jet fighter pilot hitting g forces. This guys sounds like he's just in a coffe shop talking. Wow. Great review and even better riding.

    I love watching you ride. You’re amazing. My only criticism is that every review is almost identical. Every bike is great with almost no downsides. It sounds like the Mega, Enduro, Evil are all the same and I have been on them and they definitely are not. I would love to really hear the differences. Thanks for your hard work.

    The best review I have seen for a long time now. Very good explanation if you don't really know how to characterise the bike and targeted riders. Thanks mate, I just ordered one and found what I searched for!

    Hi, I'm 178cm high and I'm thinking of buying a Megatower Medium. How tall are you and what sice do yo ride? Thanks, I loved your video, well expleined and nice style, keep going!

    Nice review, good riding! Just a question; how tall are you? And you were testing the L frame in the video with 470 reach? I'm thinking about bying one but with a fox 36 factory float 170mm and a RS super deluxe coil, but in a XL being 6.0. Thanks in advance for answering my question.

      Bike Somm I threw some extra volume reducers in the rear to try to get the initial stroke a bit softer. I also liked having my saddle slammed to the front.

    • @bike_somm
      @bike_somm Před 4 lety

      Spencer Johnson awesome that’s what I wanted to hear.. I’ve also ended up basically slamming mine to the front & just playing with stem length and spacer stack height.. just got my Grip2 in the mail so I will have to try the spacer trick on the rear as it is a bit firm in that first 0-30% sag mark. Thank you much!

      Late here but I just installed the rockshox MegNeg air can onto mine and wow... It works with the bike so well. Feels even more supple and has so much more bottom out support.

      @@keatonstone207 wow,for real?I've been looking at the megatower for quite some time,and i been killing myself to find out whether i should get a coil or an air shock😂😂,as most of the review say its got a kinda stiff rear end,and i want a little more ''subtle-ness'' but but also need that good progressive-ness.So i thought the x2 or the megneg would be a great rear shock as it would make the rear end more subtle but not lose any progressive-ness,right?Any feedback is appreciated😁😁

      Markus K I realize it doesn’t sound intuitive, but definitely my experience. I had a hard time predicting the long rear end on sloppy days. The long was amazing for straight line tech. Especially uphill.

Carbon wheels , cranks and bars. Dropper is next upgrade. Want a 175mm Fox Factory dropper. Let’s go!!!! #rookierider

    It is a nice bike but I‘ll be going for a Deviate Highlander soon. What I don‘t like about the MT is that it hangs up on square edges and there‘s too much pedal feedback.
