To push another player's marbles you have to have more in your line of marbles that are moving than your opponents. My question is this - due to the rules of pushing: Pushing can only be accomplished by in-line moves and can't be done using a broadside move - correct?

I think you need to push 4 pieces, then your idea becomes relevant. But I had the same question in mind, after playing my first game yesterday.

This has actually become often used even out of competitions - the original placement makes it much easier to just draw the game.
