For those who are wondering what happened in the end
Ju wenjun offer draw and pragg accepted. In the end checker put their king in the center which means a draw.
So basically they made a peace pact😂
Thanks
Pragg looks so innocent and like a tall 9 year old, yet decimates super gms for fun❤
he is around 17 teen... he was born 2005...
He didnt win

Thank you. I was so confused at first.

Yes thanks 🙏
Thanks. I was wondering what was going on!
Thanks I was wondering what happened there 😅
It's amazing how well Ju Wenjun is doing in this tournament. Sure, she's a grandmaster and a world champion, but she's up against some really powerful opponents. She is literally the only woman and has been at the top of the rankings since the beginning. I don't think we've had a female chess player perform so well with the best male chess players since Judit Polgar. Too bad she hasn't played any serious chess in the last 3 years. This makes me wonder what her ranking should actually be now. Her playing strength points to much more than 2550 FIDE elo.
Hou Yifan
@@yanyeetan1727 hou yifan peak was like 2015, and thats 8 years ago, and shes definetely not doing well in last 3 years.
she won vidit
@@Fadhilah265 She just beat Arjun Erigaisi : czcams.com/video/AUEAlz9wPKY/video.html
It is important you give the world's current strongest female chess player some respect. She is still playing at the 2600+ ELO level, which is around the level these rising stars are at right now.
According to FIDE calculations, her average playing strength for this tournament was 2680.

How exactly? Shes 2500+. When best players are 2800+
@@binor1666 number might be here and there but look at her consistency and rapid moves
@@rockbuzzwild moron . She cant have great consistency as long as she is 2500. She either plays only weaker player or otherwise she cant just be 2500 and have great consistency because if so she will go up and up on rating
@@binor1666Maybe her actual playing strength is not yet 2700 or 2800 but I also think she is definitely stronger than 2500. She very regularly wins games with players above 2600 elo, sometimes she also wins games with players above 2700. At Sharjah Masters she played at 2680 elo. I think it may be in the range of 2650-2699. Her lower rating may be due to the fact that she only plays women in most tournaments, and she has one of the highest ratings of any player there (actually the highest except for Hou Yifan, who retired from playing all-female tournaments a long time ago, which greatly increased her rating), so earning new points is very difficult. One open tournament raised her rating by 16 points in a month. She would definitely score higher if she played open tournaments more often, just like Hou Yifan did.
@@lessormore001 Thats correct.Female players mostly play in female only tournaments so she has played in very few open chess tournaments and didnt have the chance to increase her elo rating.

does the placement of the kings in the center at the end of the match mean something?

Its a draw
Can someone tell me why the arbitors move a couple pieces after a game is over. It's a mystery to me. Thanks in advance.
He moved the white King to e4 and the black King to e5. This indicates a draw which has just been agreed. Other formations are used to indicate the possibility that White won or that Black won. Since, in chess, it's illegal for kings to be next to each other, such formations are unambiguous -- they clearly indicate the result of a finished game and are not part of a current position.
Kings on black central squares = black won
Kings on white central squares = white won
Kings on opposite colors = draw
Adding to replies:
This is a DGT board (electronic board which identifies the position on the board and transmits it to a computer). The final King position mentioned will automatically enter the result on the computer to which the board is connected to.
@@souravsuresh2766 Thank you. I've learned much more than I could of imagined. Your a helpful person.
what would happen if someone plays an illegal move in the centre of the board where pieces oppose each other? would computer register it as a win for someone?

Can someone explain to me please why they end the game, is it a draw? As for me they both have the same condition. Or maybe there is some rule that two checks equals checkmate?🤔
Draw. You can see it when they kept the 2 kings facing each other
There was equal material and position, plus perpetual check. It was a draw.

To those who are wondering about the arbiter moving the kings face to face (which is used to denote draw):
This is a DGT board (an electronic board which identifies the position on the board and transmits it to a computer). The final position of the kings will automatically enter the result on the computer to which the board is connected to.
Can the kings be placed face to face anywhere on the board to designate a draw to the computer? Since kings could never be face to face from an in-game move, seems like the computer should take it as a draw regardless of where on the board.
