15:48 As it turns out, college football teams ARE full of guys who played quarterback in high school. A lot of college offensive position players were high school QBs precisely because they were the best athletes at those lower levels.

the whole kidnapping thing is is a bit of a tradition in highschool stuff. It's not gonna be everywhere cause it's a big country and every place does their own thing. But what normally happens is they'll tell the parents so the parents let you in. Especially when whatever they are doing is pretty innocent. Obviously half these kids are living on their own so you kinda don't have to tell anybody.

Excellent timing - this popped up right when I needed a break from work. Though now I'm ready for the next one... Maybe a few episodes a week? ;)

It's a dumb lie from Saracen, but also a classic rookie mistake for someone who is just learning how relationships work and isn't very confident about the whole thing. He's too scared about her finding out to think straight. Been there.
I don't know if you guys have seen "Battleship", which stars Taylor Kitsch who's playing Riggins here. Going into that movie after watching Friday Night Lights was so hilarious to me, because at the start he just looks like Riggins again, long hair and all and has an older, calmer brother again, who worries about him,. It's like the Riggins brothers went to the Navy.

Coach and Tami Taylor are in the argument for the best husband and wife in TV history. I have them No. 1.

The teams they play are based on real Texas high schools. In the 1st episode the Westerby Chaps are based on the Westlake Chapas, a real HS in Austin, TX. They are one of the best teams in Texas history & have sent MANY guys to the NFL, but they show a divide in Texas HS football that this show touches on.
Westlake is a public high school like Dillon, but it’s in one of the richest parts of Austin (students come from multi millionaire families). So despite being a public school, schools like Westlake have the funding, resources, and backing as if they were very rich private schools because they serve very rich communities.
This is common, as many top teams in Texas are these very rich public schools from rich areas (such as Lake Travis, Austin-Vandergrift, The Woodlands, Southlake Carroll, Highland Park, etc), with a smaller number of other top schools being like Dillon Panthers, where they lack the $ but are successful thanks to hard work, coaching, and local talent (Such as north shore, duncanville, Aledo, Longview, Etc)

I refuse to watch this show because I use to spend 13-14 hours a day at school/games on Fridays and then wake up and go to 2 hour film sessions on Saturdays.
It was a full time job.
