Solved my problem-you nailed it exactly. I reset the thermal switch and it hummed. I loosened the bottom screw with my Allen Wrench and voila-problem solved. Thank you!

With the unit off, use a flashlight and a pair of tongs or needle nose pliers to fetch the piece. Be careful with the blade at the bottom.

Hi There,
It’s an Allen wrench and they are not all the same size depending on the maker but typically a 1/4". Hope this helps!
