- The TRUTH About Itachi Uchiha. Naruto Shippuden Reaction: Episodes 139, 140, 141. This Naruto Shippuden reaction took place after Sasuke and Itachi Uchiha fought. After Sasuke killed his brother, he wakes up in a room with Tobi (Madara), who tries to explain to him the truth about his brother Itachi.
In denial, Sasuke is having a tough time believing the entire history behind the leaf. From the fighting ninja clans, to the creation of the Village hidden in the leaves, to Senju vs Uchiha, all the way up to denying Itachi was actually a good guy. Madra and Itachi said conflicting things, so I'm not sure who to believe on some details, but I do know Itachi was a good guy. Sasuke has this realization too, Itachi had to pick between his village or his clan, either way, lots of people would die, but the Uchiha was the greater evil, he thought.
Now that I know the truth about Itachi, I regret not enjoying him more while I could've. He very obviously loved his brother, and had to carry the burden of his hatred and the death of his entire clan for the majority of his short life. This was actually tragic, and it's one of the sadder backstories I've heard in anime.
RIP Itachi Uchiha, you were actually a good boi. :(

Remember how Itachi always said: "Sorry, Sasuke. Maybe next time"?
In the anime, they mistranslated to "Sorry, Sasuke. This is it".
But in actuality, what Itachi said was: "Sorry, Sasuke. This is the last time" to mirror his previous words.
Makes it much more sad!

Please don't say that. It's more that they wanted to give more emphasis to that scene so it simply received more polish/priority. Animation is a difficult subject and you can't just hire the "good" people to get you out of production clutches if there is not a proper planning done prior.

@@InMaTeofDeath I thought stage 2 was cool, but Kishimoto deciding that the Mangekyou Sharingan was going to be Sasuke's main ability from then on made the curse mark redundant and obsolete unfortunately. I think Hebi Sasuke was a lot cooler than Taka Sasuke and onward where he just spammed Susanoo and Amatarasu.

"This is it" does not ring a bell to lot of viewers that itachi meant to say this will be the last time refering to what he used to say to sasuke everytime he need help that "maybe next time". So it does matter for this part correct translation makes difference.

Zetsu wouldn't really know Itachi's intentions during the fight because he might of not had the backstory knowledge like Tobi/Madara. There is other proof to this point, but it would require spoilers past this episode.

Ive watched “itachis truth” more times than i can count his story is my favorite character story/twist of anything ive ever watched along with being one of my favorite characters of all-time. The thing that gets me every time rewatching is when they show Itachi smile before dying in his and Sasukes battle, he probably hadn’t smiled in years and he was finally able to after realizing his plan worked out and that all of his pain and sorrow he felt in his life was finally over.

Now that you know who Itachi is, you can know why the only person he couldn't kill was Sasuke. So, small spoiler:
Itachi witnessed the 3rd ninja world war. He saw so much death that he began questioning if life itself is even valuable. He lost the understanding of the most basic value there is. He came out of that darkness when Sasuke was born. It's when he saw Sasuke as a baby, and helped care for him, that he understood why life is valuable.
So Sasuke wasn't just his brother. To Itachi, Sasuke represented the value of life itself. And he couldn't kill that.

Sasuke as of now has no chance at taking down the Leaf village lmao. All he can do is take down people 1 by 1. Kakashi teaming up with Yamato and a few other jonin can easily take down Sasuke.

Buddy, Sasuks got shit on in all the fights. He almost died against the Raikage if it were not for Gara, and got shit on by Killer Bee if it weren't for his teammates. He didn't win shit, and Madara saved Sasuke's ass from being vaporized(killed) by Onoiki. Sasuke pretty much died in every fight. And Orochimaru was weakened when Sasuke killed him. Sasuke before absorbing Orochimaru would lose in a fight to him. Sasuke with Orochimaru absorbed, the mongekyo and susano and his amaterasu would get destroyed by Kakashi, Yamato, Naruto, Tsunade, and a group of jonins. And when Orochimaru attacked the village, the sound 4 stopped anybody from getting involved. So it was a 1 on 1. Orochimaru would get shit on against a Sarutobi who's in his prime. Orochimaru only lost cause Sarutobi was old. Sarutobi in his prime was said to be strong as hell. And if you were to argue Sasuke killed Danzo in the fight many times, but Danzo survived cause of the eyes he had, then let us take away Itachi's eyes that Sasuke basically took. And with that, you come to realize a Sasuke, with basic sharingan, fire style, and lightning style would get shit on by a team of Kakashi and Yamato alone. Oh, and Sasuke also died to the Mizukage who uses lava style had it not been for Zetsu's help when he absorbed the chakra of the people there and passed it on to Sasuke.

The story of both Itachi and Sasuke is a testament to the curse of the Uchiha, Two brothers who loved eachother so much that literally nothing in the world compares, the old one sacrificed everything to let the young one live, and the young one was willing to destroy everything to avenge the old ones death, trapped by the way their world worked, never allowed to be happy together.

The uchiha were discriminated in the village. This first time madara attacked with the nine tailed fox and lost. But the second time the nine talis came to the village nobody knew if it was being controlled or not. But danzo and the others straight blamed the whole uchiha clan cause only madara was able to controll the beast and madara was an uchiha afterall. So they located the uchiha on the outskirts of the village and kept observating them. The Uchiha felt like they were being punished for a crime they didnt commit. On top of that they werent allowed to be hokage cause the had the police force, to prevent a concentration of power but ann indirekt way to keep them away from power. Kinda became the senju dogs tbh. Even Itachi suspected madara behind the nine tails attack but a suspicion is never a confirmation. For danzo it was apperently enough

Sasuke has to be my favorite rival in any anime there's so much depth to his charecter, one of the reasons the Naruto anime is unique is thanks to the Uchiha clan

Keep in mind how weak Itachi was during his battle with Sauske. Tobi even said he was talking drugs just so he could cling to his last little bit of life. Even with all that, he managed to push Sauske to the very edge to the point where he had to let Orochimaru take over. Dude was seriously insane.
being a pacifist doesn't necessarily mean you won't kill anyone in a situation, it just means you'll take the best route towards peace and will try to maintain peace at all costs...Basically, you'll fight for the greater good and put your own emotions on the back burner.

I like how Itachi being confronted about Shisui's death looks different once you know the truth of the massacre - he was criticizing the selfishness of the clan and how they were overestimating their ability to take over the village instead of him looking like he killed them just because he hated them and felt stifled

the leaf preaching on peace for the world but in reality, they are the real villains, forcing a 13 year old boy to kill his entire clan and thinking that itachi would not feel pain and many more actions. the leaf basically used itachi as a doormat and expected peace? One thing to keep in mind when hearing the "truth" about events is that it is often the character's interpretation of what happened. For example, when Madara took his brother's eyes, Itachi thought that Madara took it by force when that was not actually the case.

not sure if you noticed, but itachi was basically blind when he was fighting sasuke ( because he used his mangekyo too much ) he lost his light, you can notice in the fight they showed his vision of sasuke getting foggy and shaky

People always gets confused on the shunshin no jutsu/body flicker/teleportation technique. It's a technique used by all ninja to move at greater speed that appeared as if you teleported. Almost all ninja can use it but depending on their chakra and distance is the speed of the of the technique. Yes naruto can use this technique. Many underestimate naruto base right now because they didn't know how many jutsu he knows.
You shouldn't get confused it to transportation technique lit. (teleportation).

The substitution jutsu a level down than the body flicker jutsu. Uses speed to replace the ninja with a certain things. The ninja will move at greater speed as if creating an illusion that you vanish. It's not a technique where you will puff up and there's a wood or things will replace you. Ninjas will move and replace themselves with the things. You will not switch place you will be the one do the switching.
I guess your just a casual watcher. Please rewatch the show again or read the manga you'll be enlightened on how many things you miss in the show. You can also watch the fillers and the trivia sections in the end of episodes.

itachi blessed up sasuke but he wanted him to be able to seen as hero for killing the "villain"(him) that's one of many reasons he wanted the truth hidden. The other big one is because he knew if sasuke learned the truth he would want revenge and that is the opposite of itachi's goal.
