  • today we are trying out silicone valve cover gaskets, checking valve adjustment, checking the timing and synchronizing the carbs.
    enjoy!
if you want the silicone gaskets go to Ted Porter's Beemer Shop.

Thanks for your great videos Heiko! I'm a new BMW airhead owner in Oregon, and I've been fixing up a '76 R90/6. I've been pulling my hair out trying to get the ignition timing and carb synchronization right. There are a lot of variables and I don't have a nice Harmonizer like yours. It runs OK but could be better. I've learned a lot from watching your content and really appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

Hi Heiko! Great videos, thanks so much for your content, new subscriber.
Could you help with how to set the static timing on these bean can edition airheads without the condenser.
I have done a full engine rebuild and would like to check that the static timing is ok but all the videos I find are without the “bean can”. Would be very helpful

@@ou7shined972 maybe you can find second hand. It is great too but they don't make it anymore. I was considering buying the rights for the product but I found out that there is a reason that they don't make anymore.

@HeikosGarage I've looked but can't find any currently available out there.
I'm actually looking at the Digi Sync now. It performs the same function as my traditional vacuum columns but from what I can tell, the software seems to mitigate for much of the jittery nature of analogue tools thus making the tuning easier... of course, it doesn't automatically display the diferential balance between carbs like your harmoniser, but the uber simple read out makes it easy to visualise this and do your adjustments from there.
