    To be clear on the brake caliper torques, the Caliper Guide pins (which you didn't remove) are 80 ft lbs. The caliper bracket that bolts to the knuckle is 221 ft lbs torque on the 2500HD trucks. It's a monster bolt, like 5/8" for the threaded part. Also recommended to put blue loctite on those.

      Yeah, this is my son's truck and I like to teach him with the least power tools as possible. If you learn how to do things without the latest and greatest tools, then doing it with power tools will make it that much easier for you. Thanks for watching.

    Using the torque wrench to break bolts/nuts loose, is a good way to kill the torque wrench. But I understand, do what you have to do. Good tutorial.

    put it in 4x4 mode before you crack the axle nut --- I leave the backing plates out on my pick up and semi -- brakes cool better nothing gets between rotors and backing plate and you can inspect your brakes a lot more easy

      @CarAddictGarage  Před 5 lety +1

      Yeah, that was aggravating to put the hub assembly on to realize we had the backing plate on wrong. We are not everyday mechanics, but we learned our lesson. Thanks for your tip about leaving it off.

      You will know if your hub bearings go out. It makes a loud grinding noise.
