Anyway to do this on a 2005 pre facelift D3 A8 with Bose? :). MMI is running 2260sw from factory I think so worth updating that too? I suppose I need to look for a new nav disc too!
Mine has AUX input and works fine with 2G MMI, is there anyway other than upgrade MMI to allow bluetooth steaming direct to stereo so name and song title show on screen?

Hi, i have a 2009 Audi a4. It has a concert stereo and all the controls are on the stereo not by the gearstick. It doesnt have navigation. I've bought a cd changer emulator and it plugs in fine but it isnt showing up as a device in the cd menu. How can i rectify this? Cheers!

Mam MMI 2g High, wersja softu odpowiednia, w ukrytym menu wlaczony AUX. Nie widzę jednak w Sources wejścia AUX. Wzmacniacz nie przyjmuje kodowania, jakby nie obsługiwał auxa. Numer wzmacniacza 4F0910223G. Powinienem go wymienić na inny który obsłuży auxa? Jeśli tak to z jakim numerem i oczywiście pytanie czy istnieje na nim ochrona komponentu. Czy jednak gdy nie widzę opcji AUX i nie mogę zakodować wzmacniacza, to oznacza że obydwa moduły są nieprzystosowane do auxa i gra jest nie warta świeczki?

First of all thanks for your video! I've got an A4 Avant from 2009, my car has the phone button as well as an Aux In in my arm panel. However, I cannot connect my phone and above that, my aux socket is empty from the inside. Any thoughts or ideas to fix any or both of my problems?
Nordin El Saouaf TEL / PHONE button is standard in all cars with MMI. It doesn't matter if your car is equipped with bluetooth adapter, armrest phone on neither - button is there. First thing - confirm that your car has BT adapter.
Check if the AUX port is connected to anything. Previous owner might replace the armrest from OEM to this one (broken leather...).
mr-fix Thank you so much for your reply! I've opened the arm rest and found the AUX module, it's popped out of the socket. Will have it fitted coming weekend. Also, I've checked my car and haven't found a BT adapter, I might have looked for it in the wrong place, please advice:) Also I do not have a AMI-connector in my glove compartment, what is the best thing to do now?

I have an 2009 audi A4. After a general service and detail at the dealership, the controls on the steering wheel stopped working. Service center claimed the module died coincidentally and would cost $1,000 to replace. Any suggestions?
I would check if the MMI coding is correct. Multifunction steering wheel (MFSW) is an optional part of the entertainment system in your car and needs to be coded/enabled in MMI.
If you have hidden menu enabled, then you can check if it's enabled yourself (and enable it if it's not enabled).

I'm not sure if I'm correct but my car (2014 - S5) has the 2g Mmi Symphony no navigation and my car didn't provide an AUX input socket therefore it seems my Mmi has AUX disabled. I'm trying to add an AirPlay receiver into my car and I got the video part working but the sound requires me to connect it with the AUX feed but it's locked apparently and it won't allow me to have external sound incoming into the MMI. How can I unlock this? My garage dude told me their having problems unlocking it. They tried entering with VAG COM and apparently the security is really high and its locked or something. They tried copying a whole different system setting into it still couldn't unlock it. The CAR+SETUP menu didnt work for my car neither..
I also tried another way by buying an AMI RCA cable to plug but it said the AMI does not support such cable..
are there any ways to enable this?
+gcinfamous if your car is 2014 then it's not MMI 2G. If you don't have navigation, it's not even MMI - just Audi Symphony (i know that the boot screen might say that it's MMI, but it's not).
In Symphony you need to add cable (3 wires) to the radio and code it with VAG-COM (module 56).

+Alex Clark this is for MMI 2G. You car is 2011, so it has MMI 3G or other system (like Concert, RMC...).
Hi, i am trying to get music to work on my 2009 A4. I bought a bluetooth adapter (which connected successfully to my phone) however when I click on Media, it says "no connection found". Also all of my CD disk drives says they're damaged, i'm not sure if this might affect anything.
You need to contact the producer or seller of the bluetooth adapter and confirm that it will work in your car and was installed and configured correctly.

Hello, I have a 2011 A4 (without navigation) and I can’t seem to get the aux option to come up when I plug in the ami cord. I’ve also tried bringing up this green screen and nothing happens.
I’m very sure that the last person that owned the car had it working because they had left an aux cord in the glove box connected

hi! I have an already installed aux adapter put in when i bought my 07, however whenever I go to try and play my music nothing works. what buttons am I suppose to press to play it, I heard it was FM, and press CD twice but i only says no CD. HELP!
Riley Paige what kind of AUX adapter is it? If it's an FM transmitter, then select radio. If it's a hard wired aux adapter then press CD/TV button (or MEDIA), then select SOURCE with soft key and choose one of the sources. Your adapter might be a CD changer emulator.

I've been working on an a6 c6 4f 2006 model, mmi2g high, all fully updated, access green menu, select aux no problem, however it does not show up in source by cd, I'm guessing it's an old amp (not bose or b&o) and that some it just doesn't work on?? Anyone else?
And whenever i am pressing it shows ..there are no further vehile settings available.

Thank you for the awesome content! Recently, I visited a local shop for a common HPFP problem, which was resolved. Afterward, I tried to play music through my Bluetooth AMI device, which is connected in the glovebox. Strangely, I noticed that the AUX option was not visible in the SOURCE menu. I went into the green menu, as shown in the video, and enabled it. Now the AUX option is visible, and my phone is connecting to it, but there is no sound. Do you have any idea what might have happened and how to fix it?

I've got a 2005 A6 MMI 2G High, green menu activated and AUX-IN selected, analog TV tuner (but no reverse camera), non-Bose. In VCDS, I get an "Out of range error" when I try to code aux in (add 3 to second last digit). It doesn't accept 3. Are there only certain MMI controller and/or amps that accepts aux-in?

your MMI is OK if you have AUX in sources list.
Coding issue is with the amplifier, not MMI head unit itself.

I can tick AUX-IN from the green menu no problems. But it doesn't show up in the SOURCE list from CD/TV. I am on 5570.

Hidden green menu > DIAG SETTINGS > HU Codierung > LangCode.
Also if you press NAV, then SETUP you should see some speech language settings.
Hello.Audi A6 2005.I have recently burned some music to CD and i wanted to listen to it but i could not.The system said that the CD is unavailable.The problem is in the car's system becouse disc works on any other car.I have no idea what to do so i am asking you for help.
Laimonas Petraitis, first try an original audio CD in your Audi to confirm that the disc is not the problem.
Then you can either remove CD changer from the car and go with it to electric shop. Or connect with diagnostic interface and check CD changer logs to find what the problem is.

mute can be activated by single short press on the volume knob but if there's an issue with the audio amplifier you will also get mute sign on the display. to diagnose issues with the amplifier you need a diagnostic tool like VAG-COM, VCDS, VAS or other similar.

you need to recode MMI (in hidden menu) to enable receiving AUX signal from amplifier and you need to recode amplifier to enable sending the aux signal from analog ports to MMI.
+mr-fix : I did enable in green menu, but I don't get the option in the menu. Is this option only available when you recode the amplifier?
+ACMDE reboot your MMI ( czcams.com/video/zQ1iJEAqtxk/video.html ) and check if you have the latest software (5570). You don't need to recode amplifier for the AUX source to appear in the MMI menu. It will not work without coding the amplifier, but will be visible as a source.
+mr-fix Thx, did it, but don't see the option, guess I have the 4E0035729A MMI unit then. Either solder the extra circuit or buying a new 4E0035729A unit. BTW, can I just simply switch the unit? And my current MMI has bluetooth. Is that also an extra option in the 4E0035729A unit or is it standard. (don't want to lose that option, I use it every day)

Hello, if i'm right: mmi 2g and concert are two separate systems. you can not have both. MMI controls are next to gear stick, concert controls are in the dashboard on top of climate control unit.

Hi. I have an audi a5 2008 with standard amplifier, I managed to display aux in the menu but when coding the amplifier the standard code is 010101 and after coding it should be 010131 but it gives me "out of range".

+VLL There are CD changers available that read MP3 files. Al you have to do is to replace your standard device with a MP3-capable.

Eivind222 Audi Music Interface is located in the glove box (or under arm rest in Q7). You can connect Usb drive, 3,5mm jack or iPod to it and listen to your music through cars stereo.
Also check out Dension Gateway 500 as it is most likely cheaper than the AMI system.

1. If you have 2014 car then you don't have MMI 2G.
You can have MMI 3G, MMI 3G+, Audi Concert, Audi Symphony...
2. If you have MMI 3G+ than you can enable bluetooth music streaming.
3. If you have AMI, then yes - you can use an AMI-AUX cable.

Stephanie Ford you can install AUX port if your audio system supports it or you can install AMI (Audi Music Interface) which supports aux-in audio, iPod and USB memory.

Milovan Ilic First of all check fuses. Next find some workshop (Audi dealer will overcharge you) and scan your car with diagnostic tool - this will tell you what is the device error. With that information you'll know exactly what to do.

I change to 080030 as indicated.
But nothing happen, no sound ... 😢.
I ve the classic amplifier (not bose neither bàg and olufsen).
I ve unmount the amplifier and connect the aux ontothe pin indicated.
Any help is welcome. Is someone succeed in doing this trick ?

You need to switch media source to "Audi Music Interface".
I've tried to go under the other items in Media. I can play music in SD cards but it won't read my iPod.
Does it charge you iPods battery?

Ok, so assuming that the cable and iPod itself are not damaged, you need to recode MMI so it knows that your car is equipped with Audi Music Interface. You can do it with diagnostic interface.
