Aux is so obvious option and Audi is not the cheapest brand especially S class. Wtf there is need of so much effort to connect external audio source in 2000s
The S class is a Mercedes and that has an aux in 2003. An aux was really not common until around 2010. The iPod adapters started around 2006.

It can be done but would require alot of custom work. I would expect to pay at least $2000 for that job.

what if after this isntaliation i get mmi black screen and doesnt turn on i tested + - even wired straight from the battery still no response light cables ar good you can see light flashing threw them

I have the system on my car from previous owner. When connecting aux (3.5mm cable) it is not playing for some reason. Any thoughts?
The phone recognises that it is connected to an aux, because the music is not playing through the phone, but it isn’t playing through the cars audio aswell
When you turn on the unit it should say GW aux. If it says GW aux and you still do not have audio I would check the cable.

Yes it will work with any A6/A8/Q7 with MMI II high or low regardless of software.

Just bought an A6 C6 with this already installed. I didn't notice it was there at first, been trying to connect my phone to play music. Anyway, does this box allow steering wheel controls? I've not got the Red/white AUX to try it out yet

Hey, i have installed it now.
But as the device gets constant 12v and the bluetooth basically never turns off - isn't this draining the battery?
Because when i walk towards the car i connect to the bluetooth kit automatically. I'm a little afraid :( is this something i should worry about?

First this a simple AUX without Bluetooth. But all electronic components on a MOST system are run off of constant power. When they receive a signal to turn on then they wake up. Many cars turn on components as soon as you unlock your car. And many units like this unit will stay on a few minutes after you close the door and lock the car.

Can you put an aftermarket radio instead of a USB port?
you can but since the radio controls many factory features it technically have to relocate the factory screen.
Hi, great Video, i have succesfully installed my Adapter and ist works just perfectly.
But sometimes when i start my car, the Adapter is not displayed in the MMI. I have to unplug the two Cables from the Box and plug it in again to get it working again. Do you know how i could fix this?
That sounds like the cheap Chinese ones we tried a few years ago. I have never had that happen with any of our units. Can you confirm?

From what I see, fiber connections are already set with terminals. Would it work for A6 2007 with MMI (not MMI2), and android instead Iphone? Do you have an Spanish translation?
The Bluetooth and AUX are universal. The USB is only for apple. But it will show the song information from most phones in including android.
Any way I can install this and replace the cd changer?

I don't think that car ever had an aux. You need this part to interface with the fiber optic system.
I have a 2008 Audi A6 and want to be able to have Bluetooth for my phone. I know they have adapters now that are plug and play for some. But I have a CD player in the glove box and wondering if I take that out is the adapter already in there so it’s plug and play or do I have to buy something? I have seen cars use the bovee car Bluetooth adapter and that’s the one I wanted to get.

i have 2 questions:
1- if i connect to the aux box a 2rca to bluetooth adapter (using the dension usb port to power it) this allow me to stream music from the phone to the car?

This is an old video. This new part keeps the CD changer and has the bluetooth built in. If you want to take out the CD changer you can but for Audi's it is not more expensive to keep the CD changer.

Sounds like you may have an adapter already installed in your car.

This device will do phone calls through the factory radio but the car has to be programmed to show the caller info and control from the car. If you have factory phone you can connect both devices to the phone and use the factory for phone and the Dension for music.

The AUX is discontinued because the Bluetooth unit came down in price. This is a better options. It is made by Dension. They made OEM adapters for Audi so they almost never break and work perfectly. MR12V even copied their box design lol. Bluetooth with song information on the screen. USB with song information on the screen. When connected to the USB you can browse playlists on your iPhone right from the screen.
