I must admit I was a little resistant toward the first couple acts since almost everything, (the movements, the men’s and women’s dress, colors, fabrics, hair styles, and shoes), except the music was too different than what I know to be Guatemalan. However, everything that came afterward was very traditional, including the incense and the flowers to the toys that were tossed to the audience at the end, (called ron-rones -or “beetles” in its English translation- designed to emulate the insect’s sound which can be heard in this video after the applause subsides). I can almost smell all those fragrant aromas. Thank you, Redlands Bowl! You have made tiny piece of home available to me.

I don`t know if you from guatemala, but the first couple of acts are as guatemalan as the other ones. except they are more urban cultre whereas the other are more indigenous and religious culture.
