I would definitely make a trip to Colorado if you set up a shop where we could come make our own disc. That is such a cool idea!
Deal!
I'm waiting for that also!
@@TrashPandaDiscGolf or maybe like a steering wheel on a boat. Some sort of gear ⚙️ ratio. Spin one way it compresses, spin the other way it comes back out? :)
@@DougDunfee Like a rack and pinion, with a good reduction on it. You could even hook a motor up with stop switches at each end to make it automatic.
@@MrLazer1211 Oops, replied to the wrong thread on mobile :) oh well. Something like this maybe? czcams.com/video/anqKC0i0a7Y/video.html
It’s not ideal but it is really affordable. If possible move your press higher up on the wall and give it a longer handle to give you more leverage. Also attaching a chain to the press handle and a pulley to the ceiling you could make it so instead of lifting you just pull down using your body weight.
OR watch the video on pulleys from smarter every day and make a multi pulley system to reduce the leverage needed to next to nothing
Exactly what I thought. A pulley coming from the top. 💪
Mechanical advantage is your friend
I was gonna say a 3-to-1 (or more) MA rope pulley system. will take up less space than extending the lever, and yeah it can be arranged so that the force needed is downward (so gravity could do the work).
I will say it again. You are a genius and a great dude. Keep it up, Jesse!! You are legit growing the sport and changing the future of the game.
Very cool and impressive; glad I stumbled onto this. A little winch is exactly what I was thinking while I was watching. Attach a D ring to the floor, another ring on the handle, another to the ceiling. Use a little winch and cable to bring the handle down, then move the winch and attach the hook to the ceiling to pull it up. That would be the easiest way. You risk bending your equipment if it's not quite right, you would have to make sure everything was cool before you implement it. A threaded screw would work too except you'd have to redesign a lot. Good luck.
This is great man. I'm sure there was a ton of hard work just to get to the point you are showing. I would love a video going over how you got the mold cut for the disc, and what disc you went with for your first mold, how does it fly, how consistent are your runs, etc. I love to see people doing stuff like this. great job.
Thanks Tom! Check out some of my previous videos like "How Recycled Discs Fly" "Designing a Disc" and more!
Click bait title for this video would be, "How to make a disc out of CANDY CORN!" Keep up the great work!
I love your dedication to creating sustainable discs and your determination to making them exactly how you picture them. Keep up the good work 😊
Thank you! That means a ton!!
Awesome content Jessie! Thx for sharing. I can't wait to get some of these discs!! They're so cool!
Great job with the camera angles and editing, too. Creative stuff, beyond the AWESOMENESS of creating your own discs. Now I'll go hit your earlier videos. Cool!
Thanks Hans! That really means a ton!
Really nice video! I liked the length, your editing and explanations a lot. Now, we need people like you here in Germany because it's a really long way out to Colorado from here 😅.
So cool to see the whole process from start to finish. It’s rare to see how it’s made! Awesome work!
Love meeting other colorado disc golfers. Love ur dream and can't wait to get one of ur first discs!! And being able to make one would be amazing, can't wait to support!
Just found your channel, love what I see! Looking forward to adding one of your discs to my bag and hopefully one I'll make myself someday!
Wow! Awesome video Jesse! Love the idea of setting up a place where folks can come and make their own discs! That’s bucket list material right there. Brilliant!
This is insane, loved watching the process. Love watching an artform in action.
I’m still enjoying your content !!! Can’t wait to buy some of your merchandise and discs !!
Great video ... love see this process grow from the beginning
great video bro! very inspirational
So hyped man! I can't wait to get one of these in my bag!
Dude, this is so cool! I've been following your journey throughout entire process, and I can honestly say I had no clue folks where out there trying to make recycled discs. I can't wait till we (the community) can support you in buying some of these awesome recycled discs. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Thomas!
dude this was sick! thank s for sharing the process. so cool
Incredible amount of ingenuity here! Seriously impressive. The discs look great and I love the brand name - keep up the good work!
Wild video. Great work! Good luck on figuring something out to make it easier
This is awesome. Great job man, and definitely signed up for when some stock is available!
Just tried to subscribe a second time so cool. Glad you talked about options for the plunger, excited to see what works out to be the best option. New have to get the coin welded on to a old screwdriver. I would definitely drop that out of the pliers and try to catch it while its hot. Looking forward too more awesome creations.
The stamping is such an awesome touch. I can't wait to buy a disc ASAP.
Thanks for sharing, that was awesome!
So glad I found your channel! This is awesome
Glad to see the new heating elements work! It's all coming together and I'm super stoked for this. Also wanted to say the plastic reminded me of how Lightning Discs look and it looks sweet.
I need a few 4$HO! I get one B2bomber lightning Disc I only play with it in X MAS & Easter. .
Wow this is an awesome video. It’s great to see a new way to recycle plastic. I would love to go to a make a disc place!
Just signed up on your page for when you finally drop these, I want #13!!!. This is such an amazing idea, can't wait to see these take off like wildfire through the DG scene!
Great job man! Im so stoked for you! And that new mold is amazing! You let me know when i can buy one from you!
There's a list building on my website of people who will be the first to know when discs are available! You can add yourself on there!
very cool to see the process!
This is sweet stuff man, love to see it. Keep it up!
What a fun video! Thank you for all your hard work brother. Someday I hope to get my hands on one!
Keep up the great work, and Merry Christmas!
looking back at this. it’s awesome
I just stumbled across this video randomly. Awesome video and insight! Definitely gained a subscriber here!
You Rock bro good luck on your venture. LOVE the video on making discs.
The minute you open up a factory I’m applying to work for you. I dig your teaching ways and your a amazing peaceful person
love everything about what you are doing an im sure i can give some ideas for a ram to help remove the physical work per disc
So dope!!!! Can’t wait to buy one
Great content my guy! Keep up the hard work!!!
This was actual pretty awesome. Super cool
That's awesome. Can't wait to support you bud.
This is the coolest!!! And I would 100% love to support.
That was cool and good luck to you sir!
I love this idea. I would definitely buy some, especially putters. I love the idea of being able to just throw a super beat up one into a shredder and have it be the majority of a new one being made.
So cool to see, also I have the exact same basket at house too for putting!!
Bro this is so bad ass. A lot more simple of a process than I ever pictured. I’m guessing easy to do, hard to perfect.
Well done. Disc looks legit. I wish you all the the best!
This is amazing I work for Discmania and I honestly would love to try this out
Feel free to reach out over email or on Instagram! (links in the description)
this is insane, awesome video!
Dude another dope video! You're absolutely killing it, can't wait to see more content.
Thanks Ben!
I can see now why there aren't many people hand-making these! This is pretty dope to watch
I cant waitttt to get my hands on one of these discs
Can’t wait for the shop to open up. Looking forward to it my man!
You have inspired me. I’m so excited for the next generation in disc golf
Alot of great companies have started out in garages! Cool video! keep up the good work!
Thanks Cam!!
Dude! So awesome!
Yup, I am in. I have wanted to visit Colorado anyways. Makes me want to do it myself, unfortunately I do not have the space. I am saving this vidoe for the future just in case I ever have the time and space to do it myself too!
Pretty awesome man! Ran into this video right now, but hoping you've gotten further in the process. Awesome idea to recycle plastic! I'll fly, help, or make my own if its open to public in the future. I have friends that live in Colorado so I am 100% down!
I like that you stamp the plastic it’s made of. I’ve been in injection molding for 15 years, and I always wonder what blend of resins they use. I’ve also got a few ideas for truly experimental molds, that have no real purpose other than to answer “what if”
Thanks JR! I think "recyclable" is just as important as "recycled"
This video and this setup is amazing!! We need way more recycling in disc golf. I could easily see a pulley/counterweight system to improve the plunger system. Keep up the great work! Colorado Represent Of Course!
Holy crap hello fellow Coloradoan!! That is awesome! I would totally love to one day inject my own disc. Looks awesome my man can’t wait to see what the future holds for ya
Really cool. I would definitely buy a few of these discs.
I love what you’re doing! I would absolutely recommend a winch. A very inexpensive one from harbor freight can be easily modified with a pulley on the ground for the down swing and a simple shackle on the top of the lever/handle for the retrieve. I’m a general contractor in Charleston SC and build industrial furniture on the side. In addition to being an avid disc golfer, This would take a little bit of work but I can assure you that it’s definitely doable!!
I’d be more than happy to help design something for you. Even though I’m in SC I can definitely give you some great insight.
This is dope! I'm living in the Seattle area now, but I'm from Colorado! Definitely gonna get some recycled handmade discs from you when I'm in town :D
Food for thought. Depending on how much force it takes to plunge the plastic into the mold I would look into an electric hydraulic pump that way it’s not to hard on you pushing and pulling the plunger in and out and you could hook one pump up to two molds so two at once. Just a thought for you.
The discs are looking good keep up the good work. Can’t Waite to get my hands on one or more.
I'll add that to the list of ideas for improvement! Thanks Chad!!
Love what you are doing to grow the sport. A couple of things I did not see in this process are whether you torque the nuts down on your mold. I know from working on engines that torquing heads is a very precise process that is done in a specific order to maintain consistent pressure. I also wonder why you don’t heat the mold at least some to make the flow into the mold a bit easier. Keep up the great idea you have. ⛵️
That was so cool... I would really dig making my own disc! It's not like I need another excuse to want to come out to Colorado, but this would hurdle many others reasons and land in the top spot!
Thank you for this awesome video this is great
I would 1000% buy one of these - this is so dope! Keep doing what you’re doing, great job. Thanks for sharing too!
Thanks Heather!!
Dude. Dude. DUDE! Super motivated guy! That is some dedication. Disc looked great! I am impressed
Thank you Ryan! Means a ton.
Love it! Maybe until you upgrade to a wench or threaded press, a spring lock in the neck of the arm could really help that extra 1 minute of holding it in place, and maybe a car engine lift via chain could help with the release of the plunger (all of course if you don’t want to keep the gains lol)
I haven’t checked your other content, doing so next! I’d love to see how or where you get your molds or how or where you got the press / plastic!
This is awesome man
Loved this video. Hope the algorithm picks this one up. Earned a new sub
That would be awesome! I live in Colorado and would bring people to your shop for this!
You’re in Colorado! I’ve only ever seen 2 big you tubers from my home state, way to represent!
Awesome process and discs. Hope this is the start of something big👀
Thanks Adam!
Cool video man, I haven't been out to a course in so long. My old DG buddy passed away a few years ago and just haven't had it in me to get out. Been getting the itch to go here lately, need to dust off the bag and get out.
Thanks so much for sharing! Take your time and do it when it feels right! Would love to hear how it goes getting back out.
Wow! This was an awesome video! Very informative and a better result than I was expecting from the title! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the mold from?!
Thank you very much! I designed it in CAD and had it machined by a machinist I know. (Some of my past videos explain this process.)
I can’t wait to buy a disc from you! I’m going to want it signed! This is so dope
I'd gladly sign one for you Alex!
Not sure how this got in my recommended, but I'm glad it did! As a collector, I'd definitely love to see these discs, and own some!
This was a super cool watch! Well done, man!
Great job adding some environmental side to the sport! Made the subscription straight away. ^
Thanks Roina!
This is amazing!! I'd definitely make the trip!!
Hey Jesse, great video. I recently watched your 30 day putt challenge. Love the content, keep up the great work. I will make sure to share. Many blessings from CA.
Thanks Eddy!!
Awesome video! What was the production of the mold like? I would be interested to see how that process worked did you design the model of the disc then invert it for the mold?
Very cool, I would think that you could put a sturup of sorts on the end of the plunger handle this is just short of the floor when you are fully pressed in. Then when you start to inject you could step up on the sturup to complete the injection. For lifting the plunger up, perhaps on the top of the sturup a heavy duty 'O' ring where you could attach a wench of some sort, electric on manual. Very cool.
This is so awesome, youre a legend man. Keep it up
How about a pulley system to help pull the rod out instead of the deadlift/overhead press method?
That's a great idea! Added to the list.
Bottle jack would work for that
a $20 harbor freight winch attached to the roof
Subbed. This was super interesting. Thanks for sharing.
When can I buy a complete set from you? I’ve always wanted to get into the sport and I think this is the best way for me to go about it.
Dude this is awesome. I would for sure make the drive to CO (from KC)to make some disc's. Keep it up.
Thanks Donald!
Love this. Wish I could do this for a living. I'm in Colorado myself.
I second the double pulley system for leverage. You could also power it with a single or dual weed whacker motor to get the intense manual labor out of the way.
You need a double pulley system in there to help yourself get some leverage!
I'll second this. It's the cheapest/simplest way to get some extra mechanical power.
Dude needs a couple cheap winches
my thoughts too.. or a sprocket system
hydraulics
why not just make the arm longer?
Great stuff. Im getting into making my own discs after building an automated injection molding machine. Hydraulic cylinder will make your life so much easier!
Great video, very interesting and nicely edited! :)
Great workout 💪
