Your tutorials are great man! I appreciate you doing these. Very helpful. One quick question for you, i'm hoping you can answer. If the trophy file in the game and the patch are both encrypted, do I need to fix both before compiling, or just the one in the patch? I'm assuming just the one in the patch but i'm not 100% on that. If both need to be fixed, do they both get replaced with the same trophy file found in the user/trophy/conf/(corresponding game trophy folder)?
Better to be safe and replace it in both. As far as I can tell, the patch seems to replace the trophy file found in the user directory, but you can never be sure where a hang up might happen.
@@David-nh7px gotcha. Where is the unencrypted trophy for the game file found? I don't think that was covered in the video
@@113odyssey There's only one trophy file, the one in the user folder that he mentions in the video. If an update has a newer trophy file, it replaces the original games' trophy file in that folder.

@@OwlCapone8630 Unfortunately many of these guides are still using outdated fpkg tools that don't include the original keystone file for the saves, cause CE error's and don't replace encrypted trophies causing NP errors.

@Modded Warfare, about Remaster u forgot to mention to change APP VER to 1.00 and MASTER VERSION to 1.20 for example to be easy recognized that thats updated pkg, Target App Ver parameter can be deleted too. Thats the best solution, other is to make fake base 1.00 then link to that Remaster but its problematic in that to make backports ;)
Oh and also some of discs/games runned on OFW 7.50 and above also requires changeing region before lanuching them in order to install all voice languages files, example Guardians of the Galaxy, Doom Eternal, Marvels Avengers etc.

you need another HDD. if you want to backup games from your external HDD then copy your game you want to backup into the internal storage first. plug in your exfat USB drive or HDD and backup

@@cbk12 Short answer to your question: no because it's formatted as a expanded storage for your PS4. if you are okay with it then just format it again to exfat or fat32 and you can use it for your purpose. it's nothing like a normal HDD.

dumper config file is missing from the description in this video. Without it, the the dumper payload will not turn off the PS4. It is listed in the 7.55 video.
For anyone having trouble dumping games onto a 4tb+ HDD: Try a smaller HDD. For some reason the App Dumper payload or my PS4 does not like my 5TB external and will dump only like 200mb and will stop.
Interesting. You could try resizing the partition to make it smaller but I think it could have something to do with the drive being a GPT disk. I believe any drive over 2TB's is a GPT disk and the dumper may only recognize drives that are MBR disks which most smaller USB drives are.

@@MODDEDWARFARE i Have a 8tb external Hardrive and i format it to exfat and it woeks with pkgs but when i install games they go to my system and i have to format the external again to regular ps4 format so yhey can go to external hardrive so if i run out of space what can i do sense they install in internal first

1. I want to mod a game through its files. If I want to go to the stock game or load the modded game, do I just load the original PKG file, delete and reinstall the game, insert the disc, or something else?
2. Do you know if I can mod the icon and boot image? Looking at the extracted files, it has PNGs of the photos. Can those be changed or swapped?

, thanks for another great tutorial! Did you notice btw issues with some DLC? I have 7 COD games installed and seems the DLC gets mixed somehow.
When I click start, go into game info for the game the DLC does not show under the correct game in some cases. After a reboot and jailbreaking again, the DLC in some cases completely disappears. Are there issues with COD and entitlement IDs being used for similar games, not really sure how to fix this one.
In this example COD Cold War was showing DLC for COD Modern warfare, after a reboot there was no DLC under Cold war and the game appeared to have all the mods locked again. Only solution was to reinstall the dlc again. Really at a loss... only seems to happen with COD and when you have more than 1 recent game on there.

great video - thats so much for the guidance. i have 1 question which is presenting to be an issue. when using orbis-pub-gen to generate the large file to the USB, the program errors saying that it could not open or write image file. i directed the image file to the c drive and it worked fine. i noticed though the file is 11gb in size. assuming the filesystem (exfat) on the USB can only support up to 4gb files, how do get the file onto the usb so that the PS4 is able to read all the files ?

I recently upgraded my HDD from 500 GB to 1 TB and i had about 5 digital games i purchased from the store, then after upgrading the HDD i restored everything and modded my PS4, but all the games i purchased before can't start and they are locked, is there's a solution that i can convert them to be playable again?

Great video. There’s a game I ripped that doesn’t have a param.sfo in the sce_sys directory. Any way to create fake packages from them?
It appears just rebuilding them as they are should work. My experience trying to fix beyond two souls proved it wasn’t my fault. I built it from a ripped version and it worked. So the build process does work and function properly. When I made the first change to the eboot it then proceeded to build fine but lock the game. This tells me something about the code I have for the patch is incorrect for the version I have. Took a long time to figure that out but that’s what it does.
@ modded warfare. I recommend you doing a video on games that have data on the cus - app folder only and no data on patch folder.. . I've watched all your videos from 5.05 till date and your content are extremely good. Thanks man keep up the good work... iam having a hard time with FIFA 22. I dumped fifa 22, and it had content on the app folder only, nothing on patch folder..i replaced the decriypted trophy and built the package file.. When I try to install it on my console it installs halfway and shows ce error30002-5... Don't know how to fix it... Didn't do the patch because no data on patch folder... Does pkg works without patch??

I had a question. I used to play GTA V using the disc before jailbreak. Now I want to delete the disc version and put the fake package version. If I do this will i loose the game progress/ saved file ? (Jailbreak version 9.00)
do we need to change the encrypted trophy after generating gp4? or do we change it first and then build the gp4?

You can't load it permanently, but you can load it from your computer. It is longer btw.
Fortunately you can create a cache copy off a site and then you don't need anymore the original site

Thanks for the tutorial. I managed to dump the Uncharted Collection, but I get the ce-34878-0 error when I attempt to run it after reinstalling it. The dump was from the digital version, idk if that matters.
Do you know how to dump DLC files? I've read that there's a separate process for those, but I haven't found a good tutorial for how to do it. For context, I'm trying to apply the 60fps patch for Bloodborne and want to make sure it covers the DLC. Although most of that content was included in a patch (which I have dumped alongside the game) with only the items for access sold as DLC, I'm worried I won't have access to those items if I don't dump that data before I reinstall the FPKG.

so presumably you can disconnect the USB drive as soon as you have installed the package (17min25seoconds) & you can then run the backed up game from the main PS4 menu?
Newbie question. I get the protection preventing people from making illegal copies of the game. The only reason I was interested in this at all, was so I could put the whole game on the hard drive and have it load faster, because I feel it keeps checking the disk to do something. Am I wrong? All of my disks currently are fine, and I'm not planning to sell them and "keep copies" of anything. After watching this, I see some advantage of not having to pull out the disc every time you want to play a specific game. What else am I missing?

@@ultimatea4448 if i understand the video correctly, yes, you can. But i have not personally done this yet so cannot confirm. The only difference between disc install and psn install i think is that one checks for the license to match the disc and the other one pings psn servers to revalidate the license every 30(?) Days. So basically, to dump your psn game, you should be able to launch it "offline" first

This application (fpkg) would be much better called bpkg (backup pkg). The name alone having fake on it used to confused me a lot when I first came into the PS4 soft modding scene.
do you think there will ever be a jailbreak for a version that can be used online?? like ps3 wasn't there a way to bypass updates on ps3 or spoof updates like the 360 rgh?? couldn't we do the kind of s for the ps4 as we did for the ps3 if we were to get a version that is current jailbroken I only ask since 9.0 is so close to a current version of psn

Hi, thank you for the tutorials. I have an issue where when I try to build the patch file for Bloodborne, I have no patch tab option under the command menu. In addition, I have a param.sfo missing error message when I try and generate the .gp4 file. Do you have any advice please?
My issue is that my game won't even open to start with. It just has an "X" over the installation bar when it's done installing from the disk. I can't dump It Takes Two into a fpkg.

The original dump will have
the original legit keystone. And these updated fpkg tools will build it in to your pkg.

Is there a way to permanently disable system updates? Do the folders inside the update folder still work to block them?
Wow! Am I ever going to not do this one. Looks way more complicated than it needs to be. I'll stick to downloading FPKGs from the internet. Because it's easier to transfer your saves to them than dumping a game. At least in my experience.
What if there is encrypted trophy file in both the base and patch folder? Even though there is only 1 decrypted file. Put in which folder?
I tried this with a retail KOF XIV Ultimate Edition disc on JB 9.00 and it didn't work, since the DLC somehow was not included in the rip process . The OG disc contains the latest 3.11 update and all DLC, yet after making the BASE FPKG and UPD FPKG separately, only the base works because soon, as the 3.11 patch is applied, non of the game modes work (all black screen)
The information screen should show the DLC, as it does this using the OG disc installed, yet the FPKG's it
does not.

I have a few questions tho :(
1) You showed that the trophies from the patch were encrypted and you copied the decrypted trophies over from your PS4.
However, you also showed that the trophies from the game dump itself were not encrypted - couldn't you have just used those? Aren't those the same?
2) I can't wrap my head around the keystone thingy.
In one of your previous videos you mentioned, that they are needed, so that existing saves from my retail version, will work on the FPKG version of the game.
But in this video you said, that games which are shared online, don't come with these keystone files and I wonder why?
Are keystone files unique for each console?
I'm confused here, because there are places where people share keystone files so they can patch them into their games.
3) Could you do a video on FPKG'ing DLC content as well?
I saw tutorials online and creating FPKGs for those, seems to be a bit more complicated - it would be awesome to have those backed up as well.
4 - Bonus) There is an app called ftpdump, which dumps the games over FTP directly to your PC: github.com/hippie68/ftpdump
It is constantly updated - it works on 9.00 and also handles the whole encrypted/decrypted trophy hassle automatically.
Would you consider doing a video on this as well?
It should be faster than the USB route, since it could directly dumps the game to an internal drive on your PC, which should make the FPKG creation faster.
Lets go over these one by one.
1) The patch trophies are different from the base game as new game updates also include trophies for DLC, so those would be missing if you used the base game trophy file.
2) Most games shared online have a generated keystone file that will be different to the keystone file from your retail copy. That's why the saves don't work. When you dump your own game and rebuild it into a fpkg you will be using your original keystone file from your dump so the saves will work between the retail and fpkg version.
3) The process is mostly the same for DLC. But I might cover that at some stage.
4) Despite ftpdump claiming to replace encrypted trophies I've heard from several people who have used it that still ended up with NP error's. It also requires a lot of extra setup like installing WSL and a Linux OS within Windows 10/11 in order to get it to work. Plus you need to setup a wired connection to dump the game at a reasonable speed. Even then it's slower than dumping to a USB if you're using USB 3.0. All that extra setup would actually make the tutorial longer which is why I chose the USB method here. However, that doesn't mean I'm completely against using ftpdump and will probably cover it in the near future.
