I will say i grew up using only spinning gear. Always used a medium fast action 7 ft(berkley cherrywood hd) and a spinning rod of a 2500-3000 with 8-10lb line. Fished everything from the bitsy jigs, senkos(4inch), poppers, strike king bitsy buzzbaits. And thats the style i grew up with and just am addicted to that style of fishing. Then added a medium heavy vengence baitcasting rod with a lews lfs reel in the 7 speed and 30lb braid or 12 lb mono maybe 15lb mono and used slightly larger of the lures listed above. Then just fell in love with that rod and reel because you can doba bit of everything with that rod even the heavier class 1/2oz poppers with the mono and for my style of fishing its what im most comfortable with. But now because of your videos im trying to branch out to other techniques. So thank you.

Is the tip of this rod wire wound? I am shying away from expensive rods that are wire wrapped because I have come to believe that the manufacturing process is building in future failure. I have seen these rods snap, usually on the cast or right after a cast. Loomis, St. Croix, Abu Garcia all seem to last a few months and then snap within 2 feet of the tip. Then I started thinking about bending a piece of wire back and forth in your hands. If you do it enough times, the wire always breaks, doesn't it? Casting and working a rod bends the wire back and forth until it weakens and breaks. There is NO support in that eggshell thin graphite around the wire so as soon as the wire breaks, the rod folds over like a melted candle.

For $350, I could buy 5 Tsunami Trophy Series 7'0" Heavy spinning rods (They are $69.99 each and I already have 2), rated at 12-25 lb test braid, and 1/2 to 3 oz. I've caught 30 lb striped bass with my Tsunami rods. www.jandh.com/products/tsunami-trophy-surf-spinning-rods.html

I think i will stick with a. g loomis, lews, st croix, fenwick, and a few others. In my opinion all of this googan squad gear is just way over priced gear selling there popularity to 14 year old vergins.

Brian Latimer i love you , you are and have been one of those antlers that have changed my life , multiple times. But he’s not wrong, you said it’s the best but you can’t sit there and tell me it’s better than an NRX, IMX Pro or GLX , you can’t tell me it’s better than a St Croix Legend Xtreme i can name a few others. Favorite makes great rods for moving baits but if we’re talking bottom contact rods whether it’s worm rod or jig rod even frankly a drop shot / shaky head rod its not favorite you go with. I wish it was easy to find honest reviews on drop shot or finesse rods. They should make a website that does blind reviews of rods reviewed strictly by pros
