As a Taiga user I felt no G.A.S. watching your Lab 2 video, but one minute into this one I almost cried, what a beautiful synth. Thank you Bo. And Arturia of course.
I must admit that I've never seen Arturia as more than noise machines because of their - well - brutal sounding mono synths, but this one sparks my interest. The oscillators and filters sound really fine. And it has that old style analog vibe that the other modern analog/hybrids lack. It's close to the CS-80, as somebody mentioned in the comments, but it still has its own "thing". And I love the matrix! It's really easy to understand. I don't know if there's anything i miss in this synth. It seems to have it all.
Well, I have the Osmose which is similar and I had the Hydra deluxe, so artificial synthesis with just regular PAT is now going to be boring compared to the PolyB12.
I loved the first one I love this even more those extra 6 voices make all the difference. I even like the colour. Just on thing though, I mean pricing it as the same price as the super Gemini that’s just evil!!
I love the Polybrute voice architecture and a number of mono unison patches I have heard on it blew me away. Many poly patches I have thought were quite good, but nothing has hit me like some of those mono patches and I have listened to a ton of poly single, dual, polyunision etc. patches. The keybed capabilities are truly impressive, but Super Gemini is a LOT closer to the CS-80 than this particularly in "live" mode. No ring mod, no initial filter level (PB envelopes are not slow, but not SEM type fast either), and independent 2 pole HP and LP resonant filters go places these filters cannot. (And vice versa of course) Honestly I could see someone spending that much going for this or the UDO.
Hello Bobeats! Glad to see and hear you. I finally got an Elektron Digitakt so now I am saving for a real keyboard:) remember when you got your DIgitakt , I was as happy and learning. Can you have a scene where handle miditracks, the use of them connecting anothrr synth , or the computer? Humbly ! Love the introsong!!!❤
Yeah unfortunately Polyend didnt seem to send out many review units. I am not a big tracker person so im the wrong one for the job, but I am sure Midlife would have loved to make a vid
Secret is too add a Yamaha SeqTrak into the mix using it as a rompler so adding a violin or sax or string or guitar or brass makes the whole system come to life. It has a thousand AWM2 voices or add real FM/DX to the mix instead of acoustics.
Awesome demo BoBeats! Sounds great looks horrible...lol. I'll wait till the noir edition comes out. My 6 banger will do just fine . There are loads of after market sounds out there for it. Have a great weekend 😀. Mark Bensette Aux Bois 🇨🇦.
Im going to be honest. I LOVE the built quality of Arturia. I have the Martrixbrute and the Bolybrute. They are built massively with some true weight to them and I love them but I cannot stand their keys. I feel like I will break them by just playing on them. They are so thin and the edges are always off from each other and I got them both brand new. Looks like this one has a good keyed for which I will most likely buy it and sell my Polybrute.
Maybe a bunch of people well sell their Polybrutes to help fund the 12? I can't see why you'd need to keep both. I prefer the aesthetic of the original but I'd really want the new key action myself.
@@darwiniandude That’s a great point! Definitely an opportunity to grab the PB! I would say the OG is pretty much everything I would need (and likely yourself).
Shieee.. I have flashbacks.. When I was fully committed to buying a MatrixBrute, they released the original PolyBrute. And now, when I've fully committed to buying a PolyBrute, they've released a new flagship synth. Should I wait fir another 4-5 years?? (no)
Go, I was almost decided to get a Prophet-6 and the OB6 came out and I got neither for another 2 years because I couldn't decide.😂 Indecision can save a lot of money.
It is a sweet, rich sounding synth. I am ready for the sticker shock that is certainly coming. The one thing that is missing to truly make it the modern-day CS80 is a touch strip.
I personally think it sounds a bit thin, which is ok , key bed a bit short But loving the control modulation options, especially the touch strip Where it shines is the modulation ease, although there are not that many destinations the extra polyphony would be very welcome, as I am constantly having notes, stealing on mine I have Pollybrute OG make a big patch turn the effects off, it’s gone LOL you could build a small
What about the dust after some time? With the design of the vents, placed horizontally on top of the synth...the inside will collect layers of dust in no time....or did i miss something?
Good vid Bo, just that something I wouldn't buy, the presets don't blow me away, the keybed does, so Arturia needs to release this as a MIDI stand alone only, then people will be able to do MPE as needed. Arturia are asking too much for this, there are better, cheaper alternatives, but they will come down in price. Thx for the upload.
@@MrVoonix doesn't matter, what I hear now is not worth their asking, there is a bunch of synths that sound better, fuller, have character, the only thing I can see is the MPE keybed that is of any interest.
@@adognamedshinji this makes no sense, how do you know what I am as an intended audience when you don't even know what I own already? This has nothing to do with budget synths, given you have no content, I guess this is where your expertise lies?
Beatiful design / color scheme as always Arturia is on point, I own the Polybrute, kinda jealous 🙂tbh, but from a product design perspective, the vents being on top rather than sides or back, dust dirt etc. curious on the design decision behind it,
For what it does, it’s under priced. You can get a CS 80 on Reverb for $62,000. There is a brand new one made in 1978 for $124,800 that just climbed by almost $3000. The poly brute is an absolute steal.
Man, I hate to be that guy... but the screws in the middle of the matrix section just plain look unsightly on a 4K synth. They should of at least countersunk them, coated them same color as the top... again sorry, stuff like that niggles me.
Not at all, the vents are designed big enough with a margin. Had running it for hours playing and it‘s just a moderate warmth. No fans needed, no excessive heat. If I had to guess 30 degrees Celsius.
Price wise its competing with the likes of Waldorf Quantum Mk11 which has so much more to offer. Also the Gemini sounds better for less. Cant see them shifting many of these to be honest at this price.
