Agree. There are a lot of players who are doing pretty average this year, and it's because they just don't care about this game. They enjoy competing and what not, but can't enjoy this game. Look at someone like Octane, he's one of the top ARs this year. He could be the best, but he plays more BO4 than he does MW because he can't stand the game.

When I think of competitive call of duty I think of Scump. Scump is literally the greatest call of duty competitive player of all time.
I think what separates scump from all these guys is the fact that he DOESNT try, it never feels like he's trying to get big or make money or kiss ass to he fans, it just feels like hes doing what he loves and giving us the opportunity to watch. He'd be doing this without any fans, but I know most of the fortnite youtubers and streamers wouldn't do this without an audience.
Shouldn’t even be questioning if scump is top 10 of all time. He’s easily top 5 and some years he was easily the best player. The thing with Scump is that if he doesn’t enjoy the game he won’t play as well that year because he thrives off of passion and hype. When he enjoys the game he’s playing,he plays 10x better. Even if you don’t consider him the best player of all time, he is the best slayer of all time and you can’t deny that. The way he plays when he gets hyped is unstoppable and comp won’t be the same without him.

I’d say newer players who are considered top 10 are more of Lebron they’re on their journey of greatness, some may consider him a goat and others don’t. The thing is theres more gamers now vs 10 years ago. Scump has 2.5 million subs, I'd bet 99% of those people subbed in BO2 when he was daily uploading pub stomps. If he had kept going that hard with CZcams and/or Twitch, he would be one of the top 10 gaming channels right now. Console/controller players really dont have much representation anymore and I think if Scump were to ditch the comp scene he would take every viewer that plays on controller. Even if he went to PC, his name is so large that he would not have any trouble growing a massive viewer base. He surpassed everyone in the COD scene in BO2 (the biggest cod had/has ever been) and he would do it again with or without cod.
I think he is making a huge mistake pursuing competitive cod. The scene is only getting smaller, use this time to grow your personal brand before its too late.
