I think the biggest shock for anyone moving to CT from another region of the country is the lack of middle class and select upper class houses that don't have central air! This has been the largest complaint from friends that move from other regions. My parents built a house in 1997 in suburban central CT and had to opt into central air! This neighborhood had 4 bedroom homes without central air selling in the last few years for just under 500K! 85% of those units in 1997 didn't have central air built in. Older historical homes in CT have limitations as well as far as what you can add to cool them off. Not sure if you mentioned it in another video but nearly every other region has much more 20-30 year old homes with central air standard compared to CT.
Agreed. I always highlight central air houses to my buyers. It is easier to renovate a kitchen or a bathroom than to get central air installed. Many residents are going ductless/mini splits for the older homes that can't handle duct work but it is not as appealing on the outside of the house. I appreciate your insight !!!
I been to Connecticut many times and I can’t wait to move there & getting away from crappy Florida
I'm debating that move! I'm not good with change, but feel like I'll regret it if I don't
Floridians have been reaching out to me lately to assist with relocating to Connecticut. I have helped them sell in Florida and then buy here.
I'm here to assist when you're ready
Ever made it?
What kind of drugs are you on Connecticut's a total shit hole do you want to blow all your money in taxes among the worst weather the roads are so bad you can't drive on them bumpy as hell very corrupt unions construction everywhere and they're not doing anything just blocking traffic.
You’re such a lovely lady. Thank you fir this information. Will keep you in mind when i move there. Thank you 🙏🏽 💛
I love the winter in Ct coming from Miami
The day of a great snow is like living in a postcard - beautiful up here !
I live in Connecticut I love ❤️ it
Been here all my life. Taxes and rising costs of electric. Winters can be also super long. Everysource is like a monopoly here in the state.
I moved here 6 years ago as I inherited a house, but before that lived near Elizabeth NJ all my life. One Big thing is that you are so right, Electricity is way costlier in CT, way way costlier. , however, taxes are higher in NJ.
We are the second highest for utilities in the US. Hawaii is number one and they're an island. That's why housing costs are a factor but utility costs can really push people out of their budgets.
Grew up in CT. Just returned to visit my hometown and Uconn. Too woke for me now.
😉
We are considering moving back to New England area because we are home sick. But I don’t want to be in the a woke climate.
You look good Connecticut
Ct is still better option than Nyc and nj
I hate that fact people love to complain and do nothing to in their community.
Ct will be good ecomonic devleooment in next 10 years
To me Connecticut has more pros than cons. No place is perfect. I think it's funny when the people who complain the most stay the longest but to each his own right?
I agree with this comment, thank you to this realtor for this informational video that seems to be more genuine and realistic I have not finished the video yet but so far it seems very helpful and honest. I am born and raised on Long Island New York and currently live on Long Island and as I’m sure everyone knows the rent and mortgages and property taxes on Long Island And in New York City are astronomical. So I know that there is no perfect state or a perfect place to live but I do feel like there are places in Connecticut that still seem to have lower housing costs a little bit under Long Island from what I can see definitely some of the condos, town homes and apartments in certain areas of Connecticut are certainly Still a little cheaper than on Long Island and in New York City especially the ones with more than one bedroom.
What about employment there is it easy to get employed
I think in any state it depends on what companies are there and what you do for a living. I would recommend that people look at Indeed or SimplyHired in areas of Connecticut to see if your career is in demand. We do have a very low amount of unhoused people in the state compared to the surrounding states and the US. Everyone that I know has always been able to find work. We have low unemployment as well.
I love Connecticut but it's not walkable
It is a big difference - coming from NYC where you can walk everywhere . In CT there are sections like Greenwich , Stamford and West Hartford, CT but it is not known for being walkable all over.
@@relocatetoconnecticut ok thank you
Where are the middle class black neighborhoods in Connecticut that s affordable to buy a house?
I would try new haven
I help relocating clients move to CT all the time. The closer you live to NYC the more expensive it is. If you're in Fairfield County expect to spend about $500,000 for a nice home and about $300,000 for a townhouse. If you move further up along the shoreline, it can be less.
@@relocatetoconnecticut Ok

@@mmcdonald1000 When you get pre-approved, I can search based on your budget in the areas you're most comfortable in
Taxes and rent that's why I moved out of ct
The taxes are high. Renting is more expensive than buying a townhouse/condo here. I try to tell people rent is about $3000 for 3 Bedrooms
where did you go? texas
California is worse with rent. Buying is even worse.
What state did you go?
We full! Stop coming here
🙃
YES well please read my take on 2023 CT...I LIVE in Stamford exit 9, not happening. How about Providence? Or Portsmouth NH? We need a helping hand.
If you send me an email to kthomas@williampitt.com you can schedule a consultation. At that time we can go over how to sell your house in Stamford and I connect you with an agent in RI or NH so you can buy a new house there.
CT is a horrible state.
Good - Dont come here
@@farhank8336 Already here, CT has nothing to offer anyone.
@@GeorgeDaniels-me7ru it has lot to offer.
its growing state and development will suprize everyone
@@GeorgeDaniels-me7ru If you want to relocate out of the state, I am happy to help.
@@relocatetoconnecticut I will after I finish my masters.
Overcrowded highways, over priced, English becoming rare, ghettos everywhere and the Ultra rich entrenched.
If Connecticut is not a good match for you as a Realtor I am happy to help you relocate to another state. Feel free to reach out to me so I can help you find the state that you would feel more comfortable in.
