    • @patriotsfan122480
      @patriotsfan122480 Před 2 lety +3

      Baalke was hired after Meyer. His whole staff is just a group cobbled together by who knows who, but most don't even seem to have been former coaches of Meyers previous teams. Urban was given the keys to the organization, it's his show, unfortunately for that team. Now Jags ownership is trying to find a way out of it without paying him the rest of his contract. With good reason, since Meyer has shown in multiple ways he doesn't even want to be there.
      Probably was just given a contract so big, he couldn't say no to it. Probably been wishing he did for months though.

    Urban is a narcissist. A snake-oil salesman. Always has been. Our local high school coaches laughed at the way he operates. He was successful in college because he was a tenacious recruiter. However, he’s not regarded as sincere. He shakes your hand and is already looking over your shoulder or through you. Anyone who has been around him for any length of time comes to that conclusion. Sounds like the Jags players have discovered that already. Shad Kahn an astute businessman, got bad advice when he made the hire.

    College "coaching" is about being good at recruiting, and then you win when your players are just way more talented than the other team. NFL coaching is about knowing football and managing people to get the best out of them. With the salary cap, you'll almost never coach with the kind of player talent advantage you can get in college.
