  • Many car buyers have never heard of the first two generations of Kia Optima. That all changes now. If the 2011 model doesn't get your attention, check your pulse. Tom Voelk drives the 2.4L EX version, a car that shares much with Hyundai Sonata but looks and drives quite differently.

    I just purchased a Optima EX with Luxury package and nav system. Prior to doing so, I researched and test drove the following vehicles...VW Passat, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata, Mazda 6, Ford Fusion and Chev Malibu. Feature for feature, the Optima is the best value. Reviews are excellent. Consumer Reports, Edmunds, etc love the Optima. When you add in the excellent warranty, horsepower/torque and the smoking good looks the decision was simple. Buy an Optima.

    @PrinceNippy Newer Kia's are starting to show their reliability. Even then, they do have the best warranty in the business right now. I believe it's a 10 year/100K warranty.

    @InfinitiKorea agreed. For example BMW charges $400 for ipod connectivity cable and kia/hyundia charge $50 for same $hit

    I don't own a Korean car and probably wont' for a while as I bought Opel Astra not so long ago.
    But I have respect for the way the Koreans are going and what they have on offer.At this rate Im pretty confident my next car wil be Korean.

    @flatblackstrat If you read that last two sentences of my last statement, none of what your telling me to refer to matters to me. My point was that I disagree plain and simple. Also as I mention before, I believe what KIA is implementing is change despite market trend data and statistics since the last 20 years and prior. Sometimes, innovation goes beyond market trends and statistics. If you don't agree that's not a problem, this is after all just my opinion.

    What exactly is a 6 spd automatic? I'm gonna buy my first car soon and I'm wondering if there is still manual shifting in a 6 spd automatic? or is that only optional and if you dont do anything the car will do it for you..?

  • @flatblackstrat
    @flatblackstrat Před 13 lety +1

    @mcmt1139 More options are more option plain and simple, the price per option has nothing to do with the demographic since most people in that bracket I.E. college students will not opt for most of them so your comment makes no sense. I thought this would be more obvious...
    A youth brand almost always carries less option on a model made under the same underpinning. This is one of the few that seems to have more. You always offer upscale on the models for the mature audience, disposable income

    @silvershadow169 Same buddy. I was on road and I saw this car and I was like what brand is this and was shocked to find it was kia (I drive a ghetto kia rio). Checked it online and I am buying this car over accord. I was expecting the price to be around nissan maxima but it is so well priced and warranty is also great.

    I don't really like the exterior or interior of the new new Kia lineup that much... kinda Civic like if you ask me. But you can not argue with the value over any other car in it's class..... heated and cooled seats in a mid sized sedan for under 30K, these were premium features not found on some Mercedes just a few years ago. The thing that confuses me though is that KIA is suppose to be the youth brand while Hyundai is going for the mature buyer, so why does the KIA have more options?

  • @mcmt1139
    @mcmt1139 Před 13 lety

    @flatblackstrat Despite your analysis of car brands aimed at youth, or college students mention, I don't agree with your outlook on students not opting for options. I also don't agree with brands aimed at youth offering less, because of that fact. Therefore, I believe what KIA is implementing is change despite trends. Innovative thinking IMO!

    @janrdoh This car looks amazing:)But the other Kia models look cheap in the inside interior.Also the new2013Ford Fusion looks good,but they gotta fix MyFord Touch cause Ive heard Ford got problems with the software&some of the build in the Focus arent very good(cheap).I rented aHyundai Sonata&its a really good all around car.I just bought aBrand new Hyundai Elantra LIMITED:)It won best compact car in2011&2012.Mid Size Sedan in2011the Sonata won&this yr in 2012 the Optima won=)

  • @mcmt1139
    @mcmt1139 Před 13 lety

    @flatblackstrat Kia has more options per dollar, because they are appealing to the youth, not trying to nickle and dim them when the majority have student loans and part-time jobs! I thought this was obvious?

  • @flatblackstrat
    @flatblackstrat Před 13 lety

    @mcmt1139 Despite my analysis? Maybe you should go check market trend data and research on who buys what before claiming to know whats going on in the auto industry. It's not my analysis, it's every companies for the last 20 years. Look at the market trend of what is offered on what. I.E. the cars that always had the most options were SUVs and luxury sedans, the people that bought these new were never college students and usually people over 35. College students bought civic corolla accent ect

    Nice looking however the interior to me is dark & dreary & the ride would be to firm for me ... Kill me but I would still take a Camry LE V6 over this

    @Oceandeep8 You think that because you're from america, and you only get the shitty , crappy honda / toyota models there. Check out the european Accord, or Toyota Avensis (thats the same size as Camry) .... they're not even comparable to those pieces of boring crap (as you said, and i agree) that you get in america. European Honda models are actually what you call Acura in US, and Toyotas have quality similar to Lexus.
