Did you know in India, a couple of PewDiePie’s music videos were banned? That’s right, his “Bitch Lasagna” and “Congratulations” videos were banned and is turning into a pretty serious legal matter. T-Series filed a lawsuit, citing the music videos’ “inflammatory and disrespectful” tone to the Indian community. But do ordinary Indians find the music videos as offensive as T-Series make them out to be?

I used to wear many blue clothes too back when I was young.its cuz ur Male and blue is ur gender..I feel like that's what happens .if u observe carefully u can see many young girls wearing pink clothes.. the gender gap here is bit more widen than western countries.. and I think these r the small things that we ppl wear and does which indirectly widens the gap of gender here in India. I'm married to an Indian. We have a lot of contact with the Indian community in the city that we live in. In general, Indians are extremely smart people, especially when it comes to tech and finance. I have nothing but admiration for the Indian community here.

That's actually because this interview is being done on an educated section of the country.. There still are a lot of people who thinks this was incredibly offensive and was in huge support of T-Series when they filed the lawsuit against pewds. The just see him as a racist foreigner insulting India, especially since he started the bobs vegana memes.. which was misused by loads of foreign memers. Any creepy, cheesy, brown looking guy in a girl's DMs may them be Pakistanis,Bangladeshis, Arabs.. were assumed to be Indian for the joke and some Indians who live around white people had to go through these light resort assumptions and jokes. So yeah, I kinda get why they'd hate any foreigner making fun of India

I've never been to India, never had any Indian kids in school with me, never worked with any Indian people, but an Indian guy owned the store closest to my house for years & years.
Such a friendly dude & worked his ass off.
Probably well over 80 hours per week.
We would talk for an hour sometimes.
No matter how long he had been at work, he was always friendly & wanted to chat.
It got to the point that he knew my family members & I knew his.
He passed away a couple months ago.
His wife & son still run the store.
If that family is any indication at all, I love Indian people.

But he did realized his mistake after the fans pointed out that it's a country itself but it inside joke started to stick into the community. Hope that this explanation is clear enough to understand :)

Aussie here. Been to India a couple times and find pewds videos hilarious. I actually think Indians have way more chill than salty westerners - they haven't been brainwashed by corporate wokeism. There's an important distinction to make: how Indians in India will react and how Indians in other countries will react. For example, I am an Indian but I live in England. This means that Indian people are the butt of the joke, the laughing stock - people make fun of us. So it's fine to say 'Indians find it funny so it is funny' but Indians in India wouldn't ever have to deal with stupid things that other people say about this country. In this situation, I think it's not that big of a deal but in others it is tiring to keep defending a country, say 'yeah it's bad but it has good parts as well'. For some people, these diss tracks is their only understanding of an entire country. That doesn't mean it should be banned but it's not exactly 'funny' either.

Might be a hot take but I think it's difficult to blame someone from not knowing something. It's about a balanced understanding of the good and bad, but we need more good to balance the bad, and create a more accurate view of India. PewDiePie's video doesn't help is all I'm saying.

I find it offensive even though I'm not Indian. A lot of issues covered in that hiphop-ish diss song are societal issues that need to be addressed very seriously. eg. poverty, wealth gap and the caste system
It is perfectly fine to be sarcastic about how badly the government handles it but the intention is really questionable if he instead chose to mock the minority people who are suffering from those issues. For example, misogynistic comment/behaviour is wrong, but do you mock the women who are suffering from this. Why is it okay to openly mock poor people then, isn't that a big issue we seem to overlook in this materialistic society?
