Of course. If it fits your story, an idiom could be great, especially if a person in your story uses it in direct speech.
My teacher said we are not allowed to exceed the word limit (100 words)
The word limit in B1 is "about 100 words". This means you can write a little bit more, but only if it is relevant to the task. You also shouldn't write a lot more. For example, 110 words is perfectly fine.
