We both had a blast detecting and found awesome buttons with our metal detectors. The AT Max worked very well in the sandy soil, and got excellent depth. Stick around for part two of our hunt. I took my brother metal detecting the other day for the first time, so because its his first time I bated him up with a couple of pound coins and two hot wheels cars to make sure he found something good... He was over the moon and so impressed he found something that he can't wait to go again. And neither can I lol.... If he didn't find anything he probably wouldn't want to go again.
You should have seen the look on his face when he found them! I've never seen a child so happy! He hasn't put the two cars down since ... Haha... He even took them into school for show and tell because he's so impressed with what he's found!
He wants to go detectoring again next week! And he absolutely loves your videos nugget nogin!

gotta love sandy ground - so easy to dig compared to some of the hard frozen ground you sometimes struggle with.

That was a great hunt. I'm glad to see you recommending this young man's videos. I will check him out. He seems very knowledgeable on the finds as well. One of my favorite things about your videos on land sites is when you suggest what it could be before you dig the hole, and then you're right. Still miss hearing when you find "Stinking' Lincolns" though. Seems you never say it anymore.
Videos are always interesting. Thanks for showing the Live Oak, it is a magnificent tree. I can't walk in the woods anymore and seeing the beautiful native plants is a special treat for me.

Well, if you ever decide to further explorer what salvation in Jesus is all about, the bible teaching site...techingfaith com is one of the better ones out there. Joe the teacher is a no gimmick type of bible teacher, he just sits in a chair and teaches, no dopey show biz nonsense that is too prevalent. All the content there is free. Start with a series titled, 'change of mind'. That one lays down all the basics...

Hey man, if you are searching in water and find a phone don't try to turn it on right away, take it apart, get the battery out, wait a few days so the electronics can dry and only then you should try to turn it on, it might save the phone :)

The roundball you found has the sprue attached for a reason .
sellantiquearms.com/shop/58-caliber-round-ball-musket-paper-cartridge/ This link will sow why the sprue is still attached. The paper cartridge was tied off to the exaggerated sprue. Cool find. This is a dropped ball, not fired.
