I actually loved the old guy that goes back to school, here in Brazil a lot of older people didn't have the chance, the choice or the money to go to school and go when they are adults (I studied with 3 adults in the second year of High school) and I really liked the guy. And then the red hair girl wanted the adult d. And then I remember he's fighting one of the protagonists.

It’s sad. So many reactors look at the 38-year-old guy and only see him as a failure because he’s 38 and still in high school but that’s a very real issue. Some people genuinely wanted to learn and make a better life for themselves but circumstances prevent that and they’re trying to make up for what they missed... but people tend to just gloss over him and be like whatever he’s a lame character and a failure. I can understand that’s an extreme circumstance.

I feel like they explained the power system of G.O.H very poorly in this anime. The power name of charyeok in the anime is replaced with the name "borrowed power" in the webtoon which I feel gives a better explanation to what it actually is. Essentially, people in this series form a contract with higher beings in order to borrow their power. These higher beings are typically fictional or historical beings such as gods or mythical creatures. Q's borrowed power is a Joker while O's is a dragon for example. The webtoon does tell what each character's specific borrowed power is called so it's kind of annoying that the anime doesn't do the same. But I hope this helps.
P.S. From what I remember, the training arc was only mention in the webtoon and not shown.

Now everyone watching acts like they have no clue what was going on maybe because the shock of actually seeing the powers and what they can do is what’s making people even more shocked when they see them in action.
Charyeok is called Borrowed Power in the Manhwa. They’re basically borrowing the power of the gods and demigods to fight. Divine or mythological beasts are also included which is why O has a giant dragon.

I think the coolest thing about that 38 year old is how he reflected the Oriental education system because over there high School is a previlledge and not something that's automatic like here in the United States /canada. if you fail the entrance exams multiple times your education simply ends at the middle school level Japan /China are fine examples of this and it makes sense that Korea is similar. Due to this dude not being able to pass in his teens or twenties high school wasn't something he was ever able to complete which meant that the dude was probably a special needs guy or just not that bright. I think the best thing though was that he never gave up and while it's a bit weird/creepy from our North American perspective in Asia your a legal adult at 15 so him being in highschool would be looked at as another adult attending classes like it is in community college or university.

It’s the God of Highschool Tournament, pretty sure the trailers and characters explicitly explained that there’s no holding back, no rules (at least rules during a fight. Obviously stuff like no interfering in a fight or jumping in as well as maybe no killing are still rules in effect)

Hatchu sometimes it’s just animation trying to make it look more intense. I mean look at some MHA fights like Deku vs Todoroki, some things were certainly exaggerated towards the end there.

In the manhwa, the old man has Mori stay at his acupuncture clinic for a month. He doesn't teach Mori anything because Mori only listens to his grandpa. But he does lend Mori a book called "Martial Arts Secret Records: 1st Class Oriental Acupuncture". The only training he does is read the book. His friends pick him up from the clinic after a month and he can do stuff with pressure points. In the last episode, he used it on Mira to help her arm feel better. You see him do more in his training last episode than they show in the manhwa. So you didn't miss out on anything.

i mean my dad was a doctor in Syria but we moved to europe because of the war and he had to start over completely, and he went to the same school as highschoolers just in a different section for older people. I get that it was a joke but its real stuff, thats how the system works here and thats how it probably works in wherever the manhwa is based off of, not every old guy is a pedophile or some kind of creep, and its not uncommon at all in some places because people go through different circumstances and have to start over or start fresh. Either way its not like they decide where they study, its literally just how the system is, just wanted to explain the situation and why an older guy is in a highschool and why its actually normal in many places.

*For Roshi and the gang*: There wasn't a training arc but instead we see them all get together before going to the tourney and they reference their training with who they did it with and how it went. The backstory for Jin(green hair dude) has more to it and actually they cut out that the reason he failed one time was because he got caught by cops after saving jangmi from being attacked from another girl with a bamboo sword with iron bar in it and he missed the test. they kinda downplayed their story sadly.
*Opinion Corner Time*:
So to start it off, Mappa are nothing but some dirty show offs at this point lmao.
They cut out a bunch of things once more and to clear things up most of the stuff cut out this time will not in fact be reused because it will be too awkward since its some interactions that happen in specific scenarios but i digress moving on.
Mori vs Nah happens exactly the same as the comic but with ONE big difference. The reason Mori did the pressure points on himself wasn't to power himself up but because he tried it on someone else and it failed so he tried to see what he did wrong and voila he paralyzed himself.
Daewi vs Jin Literally the same so nothing to say other than some nitpicky stuff it was cool.
Jangmi vs Mira pretty much the same with some changes here and there nothing really major other than Jangmi using 2 swords her bamboo and a wooden short sword. I don't hate how Mira won its cool but the Webtoon version was so much cooler(shocking i know but hear me out) with her blocking the Bastard sword and countering with a swordless palm strike to Jangmi's temple knocking her out.
Commissioners vs Nox No complaints at all we are gucci on this front though it would have been hilarious if they animated O punching the dragon for the tooth lol.
Jeon vs Jegal was perfect 10/10 lmao they made it so much more brutal so i have nothing to say.

Commissioner O is in fact a man PLUS he is actually pale but because of the fact he deals with fire having a dragon and all that his skin is very tanned.
The team battles were in fact supposed to be winner goes on to next fight if they choose to do so or if they are too injured they let next teammate to go on, i figure they will mention it next episode or something.

I like what they did with GOH, but now I understand why manga readers get so mad watching anime reviewers cover their favorite animated manga. Like you dont understaaand ´^`
Sheldon Joseph Jr well you can see that the fight was literally at the end of the episode and it all ended the same way it ended like it did here.
I think what the creator is trying to do is look through what he has in the manga, and take the actually important or relevant stuff and put it here in the anime.
Like take the participants for example, the people that we are going to see again after this had their backstories explored through flashbacks as well as even having their quick introductions in the previous episode.
The author is obviously just pushing aside the stuff that is one off and not needed so that he has everything he needs to tell the anime story version. Like did anyone else notice how the orange haired guy (forgot his name) was the only one in the group that didn’t have his backstory explored? That’s because he doesn’t come back later in the manga so he wasn’t explored like in the manga and I bet the same goes for the other characters. Sorry it’s so long but I just wanted to explain what I believe is going on with the anime, why some stuff is left out, and why some stuff is done the way they are done.

Trevini M. It would make sense right? I think like any content creator, Park has an idea of what he wanted to make and the execution sometimes goes well or bad and when he looks back at some of the choices he made in the manga when the developing the anime adaptation, he picks out what he wants to keep and what he doesn’t.
It would make sense if you think that when he made all the characters in the manga and had their backstories explored, it was a just in case scenario where if he wanted to use them again (cause a lot of past side characters are used again), they’re already developed and explored enough to just be implemented again.
But now that he knows who is and who isn’t going to reappear, he doesn’t have to explore those people again and just focus on the ones that are going to stay.
Same goes for some other things too like the power levels; back in the Manga, it really got to the point where it made no sense and at some point he dropped it. Now, in the anime, they aren’t really brought up at all except for introduction and the GP introduction.
@@wizardwolf1020 they didnt show the baseball bat guy's(sorry i forgot how to spell his name) backstory and he's way more important that these characters in this episode. His backstory is way better than their backstory too
Impulse I think they’re holding it off for when he returns as they do give backstory for him when he comes back and stuff.
Which would probably be better and kind of the only option since 1- he’s not going to reappear for the rest of the season, and 2- they can give it all in one go as well as bring some nostalgia and “OOOOHHHH” reactions

They were actually very interesting, it's weird to see u guys like this in this episode especially since u guys have liked the other side characters from previous episodes but dang u really did them dirty this episode

Why are you upset over them expressing their opinions. This show is so fast paced that it doesn't give people much time to breathe so introducing side characters with a rushed back story wouldn't suddenly make people care about them. So please grow up and stop getting offended over nothing (this is why I hate manhwa readers)

Don't assume everyone read the manwha because they sympathize with the characters real quick. Then why disrespect someone you don't fully know did your parents teach you right so you can judge people by age and appearance and your blaming manwha readers because they sympathize too much yet there are lots of people who can sympathize with just this one episode.

Well it is fast paced like I think every Webtoon Anime adaptation but I understand why since it’s episode 7 out of 13 for the first season which is essentially going to be 112 chapters in 13 episodes so yeah

Novabow John Mivule yeah, I know it’s 112 chapters because I looked at the most reasonable place to end the season in the Webtoon based on where we were with episode 6 and chapter 112 was the most logical place which means that the anime has to fit tons of chapters in single episodes.
Unlike other anime/manga who usually do something like 2-3 chapters per episode or something, GOH has to do more because if it doesn’t, episode 13 would either end oddly for a season finale (like in the middle of a fight) or it would end with little progress actually made in terms of plot.
I don’t know if it’s true but the anime might only get 3 seasons so obviously it wants to get as much story out as possible.
