- Last run( • Sekiro - Mortal Journe... ) was a little dissatisfied personally, so I tried to optimize it a bit more this time. This is not speed run, but I saved more time compare to previous run. The 'Owl's anti-heal charm' has no damage and does not cause stagger, so I decided not to see it as a hit in this run. And stealth killing Illusion Monk and dropping DoH off the cliff are not allowed.

Ive only done it once or twice on accident from holding the R1 too long after a fire cracker, so Ive tried doing it intentionally a few times and can never pull it off without the owl hitting the prayer emote on me (which is a cool note that you do the same animation after stabbing him in the back at the end of the fight)

Using the Sakura Dance to reverse lightning without chip damage is the best thing ever and looks just cool af
Agree, i think this combat art was actually meant to be used that way as a perfect counter to lightning attacks. Such a satisfying move to pull out !
If you block in the air you dont get the chip damage

@@joshuastephens4550 I did it after I defeated genichiro on The divine heir Gauntlet so I tried to use Sakura dance as a Lighting counter and it is definitely Useful for Countering the lightning

mikiri counter into deathblow is a pretty cool way of defeating father(owl) considering the animation is exactly the same if you thrust him head on.
Notice how each time he lets him finish his speech before going to the next boss.

I like how in every owl (father) fight ongbal did, he always waited for the death line to be finished and not just skipped it so he can save some time.

@@jaswik2023 It's a cheese strategy where you jump up the tower and jump to the wall. Then, while waiting on top of the gate arc, the boss will fall off the cliff by himself.

TO ANYONE WHO MIGHT BE STRUGGLING WITH THIS GAUNTLET
I learned that you can carry over the ceremonial tanto spirit emblems through loading screens. After a boss fight, rest, use the tanto, and then use a pellet to bring you back up to just about full health. The extra 5 spirit emblems are a life saver against fights like the demon of hatred and and the ape duo, and also makes cheesing the guardian ape solo and false monk a breeze. Divine confetti and akos sugar also help against most if not all bosses
What do you get by conquering this gauntlet?

I hit 100% achievements in 4 playthroughs and 100hrs. I'm proud of that, but this guy is on another planet when it comes to sekiro!
I'm on playthrough 15 at the moment and considered myself a decent player beating the game with the demon bell and no charm but I had full stats and still struggled. You are probably the #1 Sekiro player in the world and it is a pleasure watching you fight
I get the feeling. I’m on playthrough 13, with long breaks in between due to college, did my first charmless run a little while ago, trying the demon bell rn. I consider myself a pretty good player. Whenever I see this man’s videos I get pulled back to reality
My favorite thing about these videos is it makes it seem less daunting

12:20 never knew you could deflect Emma's grab with loaded umbrella. I have always struggled against those grabs.
There are also Other ways Instead of loaded umbrella You can run away from Emma's Grab It can save your emblems and its easier to get Vitality damage if you're Quick enough
Loaded umbrella block everything minus Lightning and sweeps
Man the final battle for this gauntlet should've been inner Sekiro, where you battle yourself. That'd be really cool from both a gameplay and story perspective

Mortal Journey was the hardest challenge I ever done in a fromsoft game. I got it after 4 try, still not much, but oh boy oh boy what a challenge!

I'm learning a lot just from watching these fights. I hadn't thought about trying to use purple fume spark to buff up before Genichiro or to reapply buffs before delivering the death blow.
I've come back to this video so many times.
It's so impressive when you are new to the game and struggling. It's even more impressive once you have completed it.
But somehow, once you feel like a master of the game, it's the most impressive of all. Only then can it be appreciated how above and beyond ONGBAL is.

This is incredible gameplay, dedication and skill. I'm starting to like souls game more now, such as sekiro and bloodborne, but the combat in this game is my fave i think in souls games. After finding out, there was more end game stuff, once training was done in strength of reflection, I completed gauntlet of strength and tried gauntlet of severance but had to start again lol. Some of these bosses are tough! Have you played any of the other souls like bloodborne and Dark Souls? Really awesome gameplay!
Ongbal has a video on parrying dark souls 3 bosses among his dark souls 3 videos. I'm not sure if they have videos on bloodborne.
Actually, I think ongbal has mentioned that they don't have a ps4 so they can't play bloodborne yet.
