The new Sekiro update came out yesterday! For those that don't know, it added some new outfits, online player messages, boss refights, and most exciting of all, boss rush gauntlets! There's 4 gauntlets available. This one is the "Mortal Journey" gauntlet, unlocked by beating the other 3 gauntlets. It's basically all 3 of the others combined, plus the bosses that weren't in any of those for a total of 17 fights in a row.
- No Kuro's Charm makes me take more damage, including chip damage on blocks. It also gives enemies more HP and posture.
- Demon Bell also makes me take more damage, as well as giving enemies greater damage resistance.
As far as I'm aware, the gauntlets are entirely separate from NG cycles (your damage is scaled to match each boss instead), so this is as hard as it gets!

kinda wished there was a reward for this, like a hue for your sword that leaves a trail with every swing. And having multipe colors, like for instance; a fire hue that goes well with shura form.

Yeah I wish that too I try to use fire prosthetic and embue my sword like that but I wish it'd last longer or forever if it was just cosmetic
44:45 Whether Inner Genichiro can lighnting reversal your sakura dance actually depends on your distance. When you're that close, the Sakura Dance itself also hits Genichiro, staggering him, and preventing a lightning reversal.
Beat mortal journey recently and didnt realise that was why he suddenly kept reversing my sakura dance lightning reversal. Thats kinda cool
Yeah You can stun him out of doing it twice and even getting hit by lightning the first time. And you can actually bounce of his head and negating it. Happened twice today.
First time I beat mortal journey like this was at 2am and I had my alarm for work at 4:45am. I figured I’d die pretty quick when I started it at 12:30 to get a quick session before bed. My fuckin heart rate looking at the clock after each boss was insane. Next day at work was totally the “they don’t know” meme

Re-battling bosses (or unlocking practice battles with them) was an addition I really liked in Sekiro.
I hope the feature makes a return in Elden Ring.
Really? I found that I had no reason to do more NG+s than I did since I could just refight my favorite bosses in reflections

@@salimdeaibes i know, i haven't played Sekiro normally because i can just fight the boss i want at any time. It's both a good and a bad thing honestly. But because of the nature of Elden Ring, being this massive open world you have to put many many hours in, i think it would be nice to have a mode like Sekiro's. Although, I'm with you in regards of Dark Souls having this mode

Tengu looks cool, but Shura beats it by far. Shura has way more detail, a visual effect, and builds upon one of the most mysterious and interesting characters in the game (Wolf Shura).

For Inner Genichiro's Sakura Dance, if you don't know, if it is not deflected, it will do chip damage even when blocked so if you are struggling to deflect Sakura Dance, just use the Loaded Umbrella to block it. You won't take chip damage if you block with the umbrella

I think for Inner Isshin's new move where he sweeps, uppercuts and thrusts is meant to be you using the aerial Deflect skill for the first time in the whole game. Everyone keeps getting hit by the uppercut and rolling away from the thrust but i think thats the only use i can think of for the aerial deflect, which is why it doesn't really come to mind. Jump, deflect, mikiri.
the centipede monk does that too. A sweep and a vertical slash right when we jump. If you kick her head the you cant deflect the strike
I agree, but its really difficult to time. I thought it was nesr impossible, but deflected the aerial part once. Never got it again, but hey it works.

Yeah I think like, that is meant to out you off, since by muscle memory, you'd always try to stomp off the enemy's head to counter a sweep, but in this case if you do that you're gonna get hit. I think it's pretty cool tbh.
Someone should count how many consecutive perfect parries he got. That Owl fight was awesome

For inner isshin there are 2 moves that were hard to reliably counter for me: his mortal blade 1st phase and slash+slice+thrust in spear phases. For mortal blade, fire mist prosthetic counters it easily. For the spear combo, you can deflect his 2nd attack midair which lets you mikiri the thrust. Just wanted to share because in the video Aggy had trouble with them as well.
You can use the purple umbrella for the mortal blade's slashes. It completely negates the dmg.

Js tho but imagine the first stage ape pulling the sword out for new moves and the a new deathblow because of that change and then the headless ape being faster or more aggresive and throwing the head at you as an attack or the sword

My 100 percent save file had all three gauntlets unlocked upon booting up the game. Had to beat all three to get mortal. Love the content Aggy!

For Inner Ishin what you can do for the annoying new attack is jump over the first sweep, airblock land and depending on what he seems to do mikiri or sidestep

Here's a tip for inner owl, only hit 2 times at once, otherwise if he mist ravens it will catch you and you won't be able to block it.

you can the dust cloud Great Shinobi Owl creates pretty easily and it can lead to unlocked attack chains if you attack with a slight delay after it (so you don't do a dash attack)
I was so happy when I beat the mortal journey first try, only to realise you get nothing from it other than the joy of beating it

I wish there was a reward too, but it's more about the experience than anything else. The satisfaction of beating the gauntlet is what's important here.

this dude had godly RNG with the inner isshin fight, every time i fought him, phase 2 was just constant unblockable sweep into up swing into jump stab and it was pain, but at least that made me learn how to counter that attack: Jump, parry in mid air, then mikiri counter. Makes you feel like a god once you get the hang of it. Also is it just me or is Inner Father the best fight of the 3?

i tried the guanlets recently and it awakens my inner demon whenever my back is to the wall against these bosses. i expend all my heal items against father and somehow starts perfect parrying his attacks and then when i forgot to rest for the the next fight, WHICH WAS DEMON OF HATRED, and somehow still won.....these boss rushes are super satisfying to push through and i hope fromsoft keeps re-using these rushes in future installments.
Just a suggestion, might be a little crazy, but, Sekiro Mortal Journey with only your feet.
The shura outfit is the best hands down
Your a beast bro I just hot all three dlc skins,and also I have done all the endings also but now I'm gonna do this same gauntlet you just beat I Love Sekiro it's a great game one of my favorites for sure I'm gonna beat it and get everything on xbox ps4. I just finished doing everything on Pc so next if Xbox that's where I beat it firs. The ps4 will be last I really would love if they would do a part 2 so bad but I know it's not going to happen

For my 2nd play through I’m doing it like this with demon bell and no kuro’s charm but not all the bosses/mini bosses(Im trying to get the shura fit) but I was bummed finding out younger owl was the only thing I missed 🤦🏽♂️
A little tip: when isshin thoese that nee move when he is in inner, the you just gatta jump parry mikiri
They should add more gauntlets, with things like Mini-bosses too. Or the Headless. God I can feel the hatred coming at me from that suggestion
Still playing this game and have avoided all headless, 3 so far. Im.not far into the game, but I have no interest to.fight those things. even in other people's videos they sont seem like even a fun fight

Aggy Vs ongbal will be legendary
Aggy is great, but tbh I think ONGBAL would destroy Aggy. ONGBAL'S skill is matched by few. Also, keep in mind Aggy is more of a speedrunner, he uses speedrun and often cheese strats to beat enemies/bosses. On the other hand, ONGBAL is more of a person who's mastered the game.
I did a playthru in French just to see how it sounded. F'in HIGHLARIOUS.
I just beat this on normal, it's been a long time coming. Insane challenge to say the least, no charm+bell I can only defeat 2 bosses.
Aggy for inner isshin is suggest when the battle first starts hit him with a charged sword then back up then after he does the first move rush him again and get some more hits
And for his second bar of health, his new move can be dodge it by standing still when you see the Japanese characters then when he charges you step dodge backwards and from hear it can turn into two different moves a thrust attack or a 360 slash attack. The thrust attack can be mikuri countered, and the slash attack can be stepped dodged for free attacks. Thought this could help

Both inner father and inner isshin are cakewalk with umbrella prosthetic. It's a shame you did not use them.
Inner father is such a brutal fight there's no easy way of cheesing it I was so happy beating it and unlocking the Shura outfit. Now isshin I feel bad because I totally cheesed his ass just for the outfit LOL I'll have to practice that fight his second phase is my most hated.

Does inner genichiro not spam Sakura dance if you're hyper aggressive? I just went through all of the gauntlets and whenever I fought him, it felt like the only move he used😅
You need to use the umbrella when he does that and then immediately counter

My problem with the bosses in Sekiro is that they instantly know when you are popping a health gourd or an item.
As soon as you press the button, they are leaping at you with a ranged lunge attack and hit you anyway.
I don't mind if they do it occasionally, but every time?
This and the fact that you constantly lose poise and get punished even more.
I am not a fan of this aspect of the game either. It's bad enough the large amount of damage taken from any slight mistake you make, but do we really need the bosses zooming across the field the moment you try to heal? There are windows of opportunity in every fight to heal up, but there's no need to be lame when the deck is already stacked against us.

@@Ghorda9 No, I meant when you get hit without blocking/deflecting. Okami always loses poise and fall down which then makes him get even more dmg because you can't immeditily block/roll away.

I am impressed that you don't use malcontent on phase 3. I know what you mean. It's not hard if you know what you doing. I have trouble timing the foot stomps on demon fight. I am on my own mortal journey. I know their is no rewards but I just want to say I did it all
Demon in gaunlets is way too easy for some reason.
On ng+4 it was much harder.

How does this work. I understand you get main 3 with getting the endings. And then the final gauntlet by beating those 3
But this said it was all bosses in a row and your reseting after each one? Can you come back to this?
Or is it beat one move up to the next. If you lose start over, and then item/health reset between "levels"
If so wouldnt it be ultimate difficulty if it was back to back with no health/item reset?
You can replenish health and only health, consumables only replenish to the amount you have in storage and if you die on any boss, have to start the entire thing all over again
How do I get these gauntlets, I've got the severance and divine heir gauntlets but can't get the other two

fr i had practically 0 trouble with inner father and i had a lot of fun with his fight so i was beyond confused when aggy was worried about his fight

Owl's mist raven is meant to prevent going all out, but Aggy had none of it - he just ate half of them like a champ.

just recorded it- genichiro can 100% redirect a sakura shot back to you... which is a guarantee to be hit because sakura takes too long- before you even hit the ground you're hit with the lightning you just redirected... rare but it can happen whether or not its a glitch is anyones guess.

That's not true. Just yesterday I played around with it and fought like this:
When he starts a lightning attack, I immediately run backwards to get some distance. Sakura Dance his lightning attack. Since I'm far enough away that my Sakura Dance itself doesn't hit him, he can reflect the lightning. The timing is tight, but with buffered input, I can then easily do another Sakura Dance for a final redirect. I've done it several times.
It's not a glitch. It's an intended mechanic in Inner Geni's AI. How it works is that there is a certain distance uptil where Genichiro cannot reflect Sakura Dance. If you're farther than that minimum distance, he will reverse the Sakura Dance. You gotta be within a certain distance for him to not reverse Sakura Dance reversal.

I think the father owl fight is probably the biggest example of not all things are as they seem, the owl is lonely- scared, a coward in more situations than you could count- yes he has a large stature and a decent hand with a blade but he’s a far ways away from the skill of someone like isshin when it comes to real swordsmanship- owl uses tricks to get the edge and that’s how his character works
sekiro is a shinobi who fights somewhat fairly, not as bad as owl does. the only cheap tricks sekiro uses are shinobi tools (sometimes) and items

Owl Father is a Shinobi. His goal is not to fight with honor and die with honor, his goal is to win. Just like wolf.
Mikiri counter that you do to almost every boss? Owl taught you that. Shadow rush? Owl taught you that, and he does it in his boss fight too.
I beat inner owl in my second try somehow, although im not a psycho like aggy to do it without the charm and the bell
