What are some of your favorite compilation discs/carts?
Game Sack The PS2 and Xbox had some great compilations, like the Midway ones and Taito Legends.
Megaman Anniversary for Gamecube & SEGA 3D Classics Collection on 3DS are really good.
PS2 and Nintendo GameCube
Game Sack PizzaHut demo disc
Nintendo’s “Game & Watch Gallery” games are some damned solid compilations, with extra special mention for #4 on the GBA. It’s got the most games included on a single cart of the whole series, including Game & Watch Zelda as an unlockable title.
Love the new intro, by the way!
Dave, you just come off as a really great, warm, genuine, and magnetic human being. I am truly thankful that you put yourself out there for us to enjoy, and look forward to that continuing for many years to come barring any unforeseen burnout you may eventually suffer from. Joe, I very much appreciate your unapologetic honesty, dry humor and wit, and your vast knowledge of the rich history, and graphical/auditory aspects of the gaming industry, as well as the nearly unmatched appreciation that you obviously have for the impact games have had on your life, especially the way your parlay that knowledge and passion into the production of your show. Thanks so much, and once again may you continue to make the content that you have continued to perfect in the original way you have, that has really made an effect in my enjoyment of games I would have never given a chance if not for the work you have put into this channel over the past 6-7 or so years. You guys make a nearly ultimate pair for CZcams. One that I believe is highly underappreciated. Have a good one guys.
What the fuck!? This was beautiful.
Agreed. I love how genuine they are. They dont come off as phony
Well said.
He has a warm voice lol
@ManBearPig negative troll
I really like the Sega Classics collection on the 3DS, honestly one of my go to games to bring along with it.
Hey Dave and Joe! Keep it up guys, always stop what I'm doing and watch my phone when I know a new episode of the sack is out !
Love me some compilation collections! Namco vol. 4 ruled for Assault!! Loved that game in the arcade. Wishing Taito would give us those compilation discs for next gen systems.
Shout out to Sega Swirl for having the balls to include both Comic Sans AND Curlz MT on the same screen! And that new intro is super awesome!
Comic Sans actually used to be considered "cool" and even usable for professional contexts in the 90s, believe it or not lol. It gained its goofy reputation from getting overused so much it turned into a joke/early meme ;D
Deathbrewer It’s like anything that is based on being part of a niche. What is easier? Innovating and coming up with compelling reasons that your product is awesome?
Or simply trying to prevent others from enjoying it, as a quintessential act of laziness and bad faith?
Don’t ponder too long about why most choose the latter...
This also works for Comic Sans; it’s an easy joke to make as it counts on being “savvy” about what society has deemed is ok to make fun of; as it is based on volume versus merit, the added bonus is you don’t actually have to explain why someone should be shunned/make fun of for using it, especially if they didn’t know it was worthy of ridicule:
“I’m going to need some context...
Pantsuits suck.
Which opens her up to ridicule for wearing them! Good one, Bernadette!” - The Agreement Dissection - The Big Bang Theory
The best thing about Paperboy is it's realism. Clearly whoever designed it had a paper route at one time because he got all the things a paperboy encounters while delivering papers correct.
Except the papers going through windows... That would only happen if you hid a rock inside the paper bundle or something, lol.
The Game Dads back again. Always a treat.
Just stopping by to give you guys props for that awesome thumbnail.
I love the two Taito Legends collections for the Xbox
Yup fellow paperboy that loved playing Paperboy. You say your experiences are different? here in the UK its fairly accurate, fighting drunks, breaking windows the grim reaper those were the days.....
You broke windows as a paperboy? How did you manage to throw a newspaper hard enough to go through a window without a rock or something hidden inside to weigh it down/make it dense enough? Lol...
Deathbrewer yeah with a brick inside it sure does haha!!!
Dave said "as you know" twice in this video, and both times I didn't know.
You didn't know? Hmmm I though you would've.
Nice video! I just found the channel and i cant stop watching your vids! Keep up the good work!
The Dreamcast compilation makes the AtGames Megadrive sound good
I'm halfway through your CDI review which I've seen before I like going back and watching your old videos periodically especially console reviews, notice on my phone notification you posted a new video!
Love the new intro!
Seriously, I wonder how long it took to make that intro...
YES, it was epic! Lots of fun and authenticity :D
+Justin Bischoff Can you help me name the 'end credits' techno instrumental song? It's driving me crazy!
+g40rc378 Thanks, friend. I couldn't find it myself.
+g40rc378 I swear that same little instrumental has been used on a recent car commercial. Anyway, I like the tune, and thanks again for looking a bit of it up.
Man I loved those [N][A][M][C][O] PSX discs.. The remixed music was so cool to hear back then. When i bouth my Yamaha CDR in 1995, I ripped the Redbook audio out of Volumes 1-3 and made a nice audio CD misc out of them.
I made a mistake and sold them off . I'm trying to get them all again, but [C] & [O] are getting crazy expensive.
It sickens me that all the new Namco Museum games only feature the most popular Namco games and none of the more obscure but really cool games like Phelios and Mirai Ninja.
@@Jac2Mac Mirai Ninja is licensed, BTW
It’s important to note that the two Atari collections mentioned are compatible with the Nyco Trackball Controller. It works great with all the trackball games, and makes spinner games such as Super Breakout enjoyable.
Yeah Breakout and Pong especially need the paddle. I might have to try and find one. Thanks!
2112dorf ,
The overly priced Sony-branded as well as third-party PS1 mouse controllers work when there isn't a trackball. Mouse controller also serves best for the C&C Red Alert titles, Dune 2000 among others. Asteroids, Centipede and Missle Command discs for PS1 are also mouse controller-compatible. A spinner controller can be made for use on PS1 releases of arcade games to have the faithful arcade controls experience.
Every other Sunday is like my Saturday morning cartoons. Thank you for providing that nostalgic, warm, fuzzy feeling with your videos. Thank you very much for the years of great content, laughs, & your hard work.
spending my weekend binge watching game sack
Sonic Ace 24 They should send you a Blu-ray.
Midway Arcade Treasures 1-3 are my favorite comps
Im loving that new intro. Keep up the great work Game Sack!
Ah gotta love some game sack. I remember when I first found this channel. I binged every episode and then waited for every new episode.
Watching Game Sack st Magfest! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
There was a Sega Smash Pack 2 released for the PC. The included: Sonic2, Flicky, Kid Chameleon, Super Hang-On, Shining Force,Comix Zond, and Vectorman 2, as well as Sega Swirl... Of course!! :)
I've got it. It's definitely worth checking out because not only is the emulation WAAAAAY better this time, but also in my opinion Sonic 2 in Smash Pack 2 is the definitive version because of the non-stretchy 2 player mode that runs in native 640x480 :)
I have to admit, I've been playing Sonic 2 since day 1. It was a "Sonic Tuesday", if memory serves me right in my old age! Starting a 2 player game to look at the screen for 2-3 seconds, and then promptly hitting the reset button has been my entire experience with 2 player Sonic 2.
For me, Sonic as a single player experience is what I enjoy.
videogameobsession Yup. Sonic Tuesday 11/24/1992 (the debug code in the sound test menu). I still have the shirt you received if you pre-ordered it at Toys R Us.
I was almost 9.
Episodes like this are why I'm a Game Sack fan. I had no idea some of the compilations for o.g. PlayStation were so good, especially that Namco series.
omg,i needed a new game sack episode today!! thanks guys!
I still think that the original Williams’ Arcade’s Greatest Hits is still the best compilation that Midway put out for the PlayStation.
That coverage of the namco anthology is probably my favorite coverage gamesack has ever done for some reason
Strikers 1945 II was my favorite in the series. Admittedly I haven't played *every* game in the series, but still. Love it.
Great job still coming up with topics after all these episodes. This was great.
I'm so glad you guys mentioned Arcade Part Pak. Me and my sister grew up with that compilation, and Smash TV is still one of my favorite games ever. We only had a PS2, so a bunch of games didn't work, but I could swear that I got Toobin' to run once or twice.
Seriously, it's awesome to see one of the most obscure games (well, compilation) of my childhood be brought into the limelight.
Love waking up on a sunday morning with a full sack!
Love my Sunday morning Sack! 👍
Happy new year Joe and Dave!
still the absolute best show on youtube...thx guys for all the hard work u put into this show!!!
I absolutely LOVE compilation discs. As an arcade gaming fan, these provided the ability to play some of my favorite coin-ops anytime I wanted, with no tokens required.
One of the more overlooked features of the Namco Museum discs for the PlayStation is record-keeping. It’s pretty neat to look back at certain stats that the software tracks- from the number of times you ate all four ghosts in Pac-Man to your overall shooting accuracy in Galaga. Sadly, Volumes 2, 4, and 5 command decent money to own these days, and it’s cheaper to own later and more game-populated Namco Museum offerings.
It’s too bad that Konami only half-assed its compilations. There were always key games missing (Hello, Sunset Riders!) in the PlayStation, Game Boy Advance, and DS offerings. And not getting a console Irem compilation disc still smarts.
I hope you find more compilations to cover in a future episode!
If you don't mind having them as digital only, all 5 can be found on the PlayStation Network.
Street Fighter Alpha Anthology-PS2. Has the "Super Gem Fighter" game. Great port :D
Love this channel and the fact that you continue to do what you’re passionate about.
With Dave talking about the Midway Game Compilations. One of MY Fave Compilations would be the Midway Level Pack from LEGO Dimensions. In Dimensions, you would find Arcade Docks throughout the game and each one has a certain Midway game on it. Playing each of those Docks once unlocks the game in the Midway Level World itself (Unfortunately. For some games like 720° and CyberBall, You need the Back to the Future and Simpsons Level Packs respectively) But otherwise it has Marble Madness in there for Dave (and the Actual Minifigure, Arcade Cabinet Model and Spy Hunter Car Model are pretty nice too)
Really fun episode guys, thanks.
Always makes my day when you guys post a new video. Thanks so much!
I was just thinking earlier today, "When will Game Sack do a compilation episode again?"
Nice timing!
loved this episode! Thanks GAME SACK!
Activision Hits remixed for the PSP was one of my favorites as a kid, lots of great games and fantastic music
I almost went the whole day without watching the new Game Sack episode! I must be getting forgetful in my old age...
SNK Anthology Collection Vol. 1(PS2), Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, Capcom Digital Collection, Super Mario All-stars and Splatterhouse(2010)[It's 4 games in one].
Awesome new intro guys. Happy New Year Game Sack! 🤘🎮🕹💿
Game Sack always has great in-depth content. Top-shelf CZcams Channel as it is accessible to all levels of retro gamers
Namco museum vol. 1 was my favorite bcuz I loved walking through the virtual museum and seeing everything over and over
Best gaming related show on CZcams hands down!
As so often I learned a lot from you! Thanks!
Hell yeah for uploading at Australian prime time!
Best episode ever! Well done!
Another good video guys enjoy your content happy new year
Love a new gamesack episode. Absolute treasure trove of gaming media here!!!
I have Taito Legends 1 and 2, I like those compilations.
Please do more of these you guys! I absolutely love game anthologies and the PS2/Xbox/GC had a ton of them!
Love the new intro. Nice topic. Now I know what disc to get Klax on and better understanding of the Capcom Collection.
the new intro is fantastic!
Reason for that long title is that there were four of these releases under the "Arcade's Greatest Hits" banner, two were Atari collections and the other were Midway/Williams. There was also a standalone "Arcade Party Pak" that's work a check as well, some of these discs also had interviews with the developers as well.
The new intro is good but I'm still going to complain about it because it ruins the Game Sack nostalgia. (jk)
I'm just amazed they were able to get that done without Joe coming in and knocking everything...on purpose.
Jomaster The Second Noatalgia can completely ruin good shows and games that only made small and insignificant changes. But it feels so gooood.
I love it. They've always been into stop motion back to their old short films, so this feels right to me.
Yeah where's the fart noise? 4/10
Nice new opening, love your stop motion stuff.
Great new intro guys! The 'Sack keeps going from strength to strength. Love it! :)
Ahhhhh! Perfect my to spend my Sunday eating breakfast.
Marble Madness, that game drove my brother and cousins nuts when they were younger. The game was fun and interesting because of the level design.
Excellent video!! Love it!!!! Keep up the good work guys!
Another amazing video! That Namco Museum segment was stellar!
By far my favourite channel. Keep it up guys
I love this video. Thank you guys :)
I lost track of all the compilations you already done so im not suggesting any XD haha Great video as always!!
Tude sack 2 please,
devil may cry, bayonetta, dead rising, plenty of tude offsprings to cover
great idea! Love Namco museum series!
You think Midway Presents Arcade's Greatest Hits The Atari Collection 2 title is long, how about Wii Arcade Hits Pack: Gunblade NY: Special Air Assault Force & L.A. Machine Guns. This episode is great, guys.
You take that back Joe, Son Son is amazing
Wow, thanks for the recommendations.
Wrestle War did come out in Europe, and I think Australia too. For the Mega Drive.
God, the stop motion on this channel has gotten so good
Thank you! That drove my late brother and I nuts when we played the Sega Smashpack. He said "It's like playing Sega games on the Atari 2600." Or something along those lines. ~sighs~ I miss that goofball more and more everyday.
Namco Museum Vol. 1-5 are great. I grew up with a lot of these games and collecting each disk was my mission in life. I miss these games :(
thanks a lot game sack for such an amazing episode
Just found this channel and I love it. Great videos! Great content!
I love the new intro, awesome job as always Joe!
Great new content guys!! Keep it up GameSack!!
I had this tingling sensation that a new gamesack just came out
Lifesizemortal There's a cream for that tingling.
Wrestle War was also released in Europe.
the first compilation sounds even worse than the at games portable
Awesome as usual, guys!
Cheers from Brazil!
Assault on the Namco Collection can be played with the "Playstation Analog Joystick" which is that large virtual-on looking thing w/ 2 flight sticks on it. Definitely my favorite way to play Assault outside of an arcade cabinet.
Great show guys.
gamesack always uploaded In time for my Sunday morning toast and tea :)
the greatest compilation ever is the Zelda collectors disc, with the first 2 zeldas and OOT and Majoras Mask.
Tate isn't a loanword. The Japanese word for vertical is "tate" (縦). Just FYI!
swarm
I do believe it is pronounced "tªte" as in "po-TATE-oh."
I thought my TV was broke when the glitchy Paperboy screen came up! Lol
What, there was more after Joe's Namco ramble?! Damn, now I have to watch this again...
hahaha ending was best! love you guys
Pac Land was my first arcade game ever. So many memories...
love you guys
I remember playing Namco Museum vol. 3 over a friend's house on his PS2. Fun times, especially with Dig Dug and Tower of Drauga.
OH. So that's what I was supposed to be doing while I was playing Warlords on the 2600 with my older brothers at age 5 or 6. I've been wondering what the hell that game was for years now.
The paddle volume controller is compatible with breakout and pong perhaps also for the other games on that disc.
That tate bit is hilarious as was the end. Just gold
Awesome episode!
Holy new introduction, 8 mega bit-man
