True 🫀🫀🫀
One of the greatest tenors of the history with an unmistakable sound.

I have ALWAYS loved Ben Webster, my favourite tenor sax player. Heard him live once in a park in Birmingham, England. It was a local jazz festival, and only about 20 people were there. Around 1970.
THE SAX SEEMS LIKE IT"S SPEAKING - THE KING OF TENORS FOREVER - ......¨'TENDERLY" UNFORGETTABLE.
I've never heard of this man before, but thank God for randomly stumbling upon some good stuff on youtube.
My kind of music. My kind of player. My kind of way out of this World! Thank you Mr. Webster!
Quel dommage !!!
Cocneu piney.
Now THIS is real music!!!! Emotion from the heart speaks very clearly through Ben's playing. No AI or any beat box, computer generated, auto tuned so called "music" can even come close to this genius playing!
This guy simply makes me weep.
That's the sound of mr Websrer. He touches the sax like a violin
I´ve heard some themes in YT, this man had such a peculiar way of playing.
The sax seems like it is speaking.
It has a very pleasant and warm sound, and its whisper in the end of notes.
Start every day listening to Ben playing Chelsea Bridge.
Is it Chelsea Bridge with Duke or Gerry Mulligan? The latter is, in my opinion, the greatest jazz ballad ever recorded/
@@rwclaw1 I'm new to appreciating jazz. A friend has it playing all the time. I heard Ben Webster playing Chelsea Bridge one morning and I loved it. Much for me to learn and enjoy.
@@elizabethferrier6429 Now try his versions of "Stardust," a song which Ben owned. There are dozens of recordings, but I'd recommend three: (1) If you Google "Ben Webster Stardust," you'' get a terrific rendition from Oslo, I think. (2) Try and find Ben Webster and Teddy Wilson, although that version doesn't have the fabulous verse. (3) Finally find "Ben Webster at the Renaissance," which has a long, long version, with solos from everyone, and Ben at the end; but listen to the applause when Ben just plays the melody.
Ben Webster I heard a story about him and watched a biographical film in Warsaw at the Academy of Music as part of the Jazz Jamboree festival in the late 1980s and I was delighted with his singing and exceptionally warm unique sound with his soothing vibrate .... I think he is a world-savvy musician a brilliant saxophonist as it seems and too little appreciated. Highly recommended for those rainy and cool days
He sang?! Wow,just learned something. What is the title of the film seen?
For a long time I could not understand the style of webster but one day, by magic, all its greatness was revealed to me. No one phrased like him, no one blew as well.
I think , brother You must understand one thing: music was born un a hearth, si music belongs to feelings and emociona and of course yo the heart
That’s like eating pizza and not knowing it tastes good
@@stricknice5260 bah, science says we have an unconscious, so that's totally possibile. Feeling good (or bad) without knowing why. I dig the possibility to sudden enlightment or comprehension of a form of beauty that was hard to notice in the first place. Another interesting topic in fact would be that beauty uses to Hide, they say
Coleman Hawkins, Lester Young, Johnny Hodges, Stan Getz ...
I have no adequate words to explain how Ben Webster's playing is beyond any other player I've ever heard in my life, it's as if his Sax is the landscape in which I dream each night. Unmatched brilliance.
I can't adequately put into words how I feel when I listen to Ben Webster.
I’ve read that more good jazz came from the side of his mouthpiece than other players from the bell!
There is sometimes just the vibration left of the note. The tone has gone and the echo remains.
Nicely put. Cheers!
How beautiful you express the spirit in your words. The whole comment is splenid. Something feels better now readina at the same time listening Thank you!
BEN WEBSTER HAS THE ABILITY TO BRING YOU TO NOT ONLY A DIFFERENT STATE OF MIND BUT ALSO A SIMPLER PERIOD OF TIME ,THIS WONDERFUL MUSIC - MAN !

@@coolpeaches No you just need to recognize.there is nothing wrong .
He never fails to improve my mood. Just wonderful to listen to.
I was just saying the same thing to my other half. Just wonderful.
Does it need that often? Who cares; you'll always be able to return to him!
I do agree, I love hi's musicion

Ben Webster is like the Oscar Peterson of the saxophone. He is my favorite saxophonist.
Ben Webster is an incredible saxophonist! You should also check out Coleman Hawkins (if you haven't already done so :)).
He plays soothing and invigorating music. He is out of this world with his saxophone

SOFT SOFT .....
Wow super Webarer
Ben Webster & Dexter Gordon. Both masters at blues jazz.
I am not much of a jazz guy, and can't pretend to a great deal of expertise when it comes to saxophonists. Still, to my rather limited ear, nobody plays like Ben Webster. He's one of the few jazz musiicans you could play without telling me who it is, and there's a good chance I would get it right.
❤
Undeniable

Shoutout to Albert "Tootie" Heath (born May 31, 1935) - 85th birthday at the end of this month.
He also played drums on John Coltrane’s first session as a leader in 1957.

Cool, cool and cool.
