Welcome back to Australia and the INCREDIBLE Great Ocean Road trip! In this vlog we've reached the point of the drive around the Great Otway National Park which forces the road in land, but we're going a but further in and visiting the Kennett River Koala walk, the Hopetoun Falls and Fly Otway Adventure Park
Kennet River Koala walk is one of the best places in Australia to see wild koalas in their natural habitat, but it isn’t actually a walk, it’s a 15km dirt road. Apparently the best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon, they get sleepy during the day, so maybe if we were earlier it wouldn't have been so tough to spot them!
The Hopetoun Falls is a highlight, a cool walk leading to a monstrous and powerful waterfall, falling 30 metres into the Aire River in the Great Otway National Park.
A lot of people seem to know there is an Otway treetop walk, according to all the messages we got, so that lead us to check out Otway Fly Treetop Adventures. -The Rainforest and Treetop Walk is 1.9km and takes approximately 1 hour to cruise around. There's platforms 25-30 metres high and one 47 metre tall Spiral Tower as well!
Glenaire Cottages was our final stop for accommodation bordering the Great Otways National Park. There's actually 5 amazing timber cottages set in the rainforest with that real cozy cabin feel. So much better than a hotel or something because of the setting but also because theyre dog friendly - we wish we could bring Nalu, he would have loved it! I’m so glad you went to the Otway Fly. When I first saw you were doing the GOR I was afraid you might not go inland. I’ve been going there since it opened and love it. When it opened you could see over the trees from the tower with the spiral staircase but now you can’t. It’s such a beautiful walk.

See Australia is not always hot and it's not all desert ...our forests are probally bigger than some country's...l ride my dirt bike in the forests at Anglesea on the great Ocean Road most days in summer are around 24 degrees Celsius perfect for the ⛱ beach.
