Welcome back to Australia and the INCREDIBLE Great Ocean Road trip! It’s our 3rd day of 4, and our 3rd of 4 vlogs in this little Great Ocean Road drive in Victoria, but today is the biggest day of them all in a way - it’s where we really hit the big must do sites along the way!
Kicking things off at Gibson Steps Beach. A kind of hilarious story about how this site came to be, but it’s the first point that we properly felt like THIS is the kickstart point to really experience the Great Ocean Road. As Dane said, kind of amazing that Victoria tourism/local tourism just decided well lets make this a thing to do.
The Twelve Apostles are sadly down to only 6 or so left at the moment, but it is possibly the only thing to see and do that would/should feature on every Great Ocean Road itinerary. They’re as epic in proportion and beauty as you’d expect and left us kinda in awe.
Port Campbell is a good spot to grab food and fuel and even has it’s only little beach stop worth checking out too.
Loch Ard Gorge is a sad story surrounded by insane beauty!
London Bridge and the Grotto were the last on this stretch of our Great Ocean Road trip, but believe it or not there were signs for other stops as well - these might be the main sites but there is so much more to see! This part of Australia is bloody magical

Many years ago The 12 Apostles was just a simple carpark on the ocean side like Gibsons Steps but the increasing popularity made a larger carpark and toilets necessary on the other side of the road. As you found it!
In summer - the number of international tourists is staggering. It needed that carpark and setup.
That makes sense, it was so well set up (once we found it!)

This is just stunningly beautiful. Seeing the rock formations jetting out of the beach and water like that is jaw dropping! And the drive itself between stops is beautiful too. This has been a great series and I'm sad it's almost over. But looking forward to what is next! 😎

We went over the Great Ocean Road in May this year. Thouroughly enjoying it again through your videos. Many of the places you are going, we went.
So beautiful! Gibdons steps story reminds me of the story of how the Minack Theatre was formed in Penzance in Cornwall where a lady and her gardener created an open air theatre on the side of a rock overlooking the Atlantic ocean. They put on fabulous shows there all with the backdrop of the Atlantic behind the stage. You must check it out if you come to the UK again, but do take a big puffy coat and blanket coz it gets very nippy up there! Xxx

Loch Ard Gorge is a great place and underrated IMO. The beach down there is cute and there are caves to explore as well.

Grumpy old man here. Tried to do the great Ocean road a couple of years back. The amount of cyclists on that road gave me terrors. Every twist and turn on that road there were bloody cyclist's. I'm having a relapse....gotta go.

You might like to know there was never 12 of the Apostles. It was originally called the Sow and Piglets, and there were only 9 stacks. They renamed it to The Apostles in 1922 for tourism purposes, and eventually it came to be known as The 12 Apostles

"Gog and Magog" are land or people groups in the Bible (Ezekiel 38:2), The beaches in Australia are a cross between the "Big Surf" beach in California and the beaches in Washington and Oregon.
