Finally getting to take a look at Kyoshin. The weeb himself. I'm not a huge fan of Kyoshin, but I still want to do him as much justice as I can. I think this grade came out pretty well, but let me know what you think
TIME STAMPS
1:57 Savage Sandstorm
4:20 The Wind’s Edge
6:04 Might of the Winds
7:59 Celestial Discipline
9:37 Relentless Windstorm
11:19 Through the Head
14:00 FINAL SCORE - Hry
I'm surprised that you didn't mention in Relentless Sandstorm that Kyoshin managed to magically repel and prevent any sort of fighting back with his scabbard.
The reason why most characters don’t have sheathes are engine limitations. But they did show sheathes for Orochi and Apollyon’s swords.
Random question, do u know ow what engine for honor has?
@RattlebonesTheThird for real, I mean skyrim a game that released in 2011 has sheathed on most weapons, and those that didn't were filled in with mods a few years later, ages before for honor even realesed
Kyoshin being half blind/fully blind reverse gripping swordsman with a cane looking sheathe feels like a big inspiration from Zatoichi the blind swordsman
Because Kyoshin actually is inspired by Zatoichi
Well, Kyoshin is inspired by zatoichi, sadly zatoichi is a million times cooler.
I've been waiting for you to talk about the scabard head exe. Even as a kyoshin main, first time i saw the scabard through the head i went "Huh??!"
I wish he had more executions like celestial discipline. No specific anime gimmick, just style and brutality
Based, Kyoshin is my main, as of now he is rep 24
I feel like when you went over "Relentless Windstorm" i feel like he puts the Shikamizu back into the sheath so that it possibly adds more weight into his strike to the face so its more impact? More weight behind the strike. Im just guessing.
What I would have changed about Celestial discipline is to try and add some historical fighting in it. So instead of Warden holding the sheathe, as customary from Iaido (drawing quickly and fighting with a sheathed sword, very popular among Samurai and sword wielders of Japan in those times) Kyoshin instead, with one hand on the grip and the other on the actual scabbard, (in Japan it'd be a Saya but I'm not sure if this weapon has different terminology.) He would press it against the Warden, typically in this technique you would actually be holding this against the opponents weapon to stop them from drawing, before then drawing your own weapon and striking.
To recap, Kyoshin holds his scabbard against the Warden, and swiftly pulls his sword out, stabs, backs up and cleans the sword, then sheathes. I feel like that would have looked cooler than Warden just... Holding onto it himself.
If you watch ravens legends series his kyoshoin is blind but under the blindfold he has blue ghostly eyes. That would explain the effect
Early prediction, he's gonna get around 70%, plus/minus 3, give or take. Reason? Most of his stuff is so unrealistic it's almost hilarious. Scabbard through skull, anyone? If that doesn't get 0 out of 4, I'm going to be surprised
I hate that execution so much, at first I saw em throw his sword into the back of their head.
"Oh dam.. ruthless.."
Then wondered if the scabbard was glitched how it showed up sheathed somehow and then saw the other perspective.. hated it instantly.
That alone gets -100 for me.
The amount of force needed to do that is equivalent to a railgun.
Yeah, that was pretty expected, though I expected a lot lower grade because how anime he is.
I'm not entirely sure but I think Kyoshin is a master of Iai style. Iai is about sheathing and unsheathing the weapon.
He is the master of cringe
Iaido is the art of striking while unseathing your weapon. An emergency technique, you don't reseathe your weapon in the middle of a fight.
@@slayy6253 I was close. But It does make more sense the way you put it
For katana, there are some techniques where reverse grip is what you do especially if you’re drawing it and attacking that is a situation where you use reverse grip
There being techniques doesn't mean that those techniques are good though.
I will say regarding the through the head execution, the only scabbard that could possibly go through the head would be his heretic set from last season as the end of it is spiked. That being said I'm with you in that I don't like that execution. I think it would've been better if he threw the scabbard first then kicked his opponent who lands on the scabbard then he throws the blade.
8:37 my best guess is that the sudden death causes all the muscles to tense up for a moment
"Why does warden keeps holding onto the scabard ?"
Its just muscle memory. Why does the chicken still run and flap his wings after being decapitated ?
here we go.
Im pretty sure the whole thing with after the head stab and still holding the sheath is having to do with something like how if you cut off a chicken's head, the chicken will still be moving around for a few seconds, because it's body was still carrying out the action the brain told it too.
raven i think youre completely justified in giving that last execution a negative in realism. if you look closely, warden actually manages to move his arms down towards the end of it with the scabbard stuck through his brain. look closely at his arms when viewing from the enemy's perspective.
I wonder if, when your done with these executions, that you will grade excecutions from other games or media?
reshething the blade is fine
11:57 I give realism a 1 because of the kick, but that’s the only reason
Never noticed the scabard went through the head
i mean if the Scabbard had some kind of spike or blade on it then i would say that its a 3 for through the head
ty for scabbard point
You know kyoshin's Katana or Scabbard does not have a Tsuba so basically the scabbard can fall very easily out of the sheath
Everytime I see a Weeb kyoshin outfit i quote Seijuro "You Dishonor Me"
not weeb
Kyoshen time.
I love the idea that if you don't die until the the anime swordsman sheathes his sword, he can just walk away and not sheathe it for months and you still won't die until he does.
I'm wondering if you can't simply apply a N/A value to Realism when it comes to obvious Anime/Fantasy inspired executions. Like, instead of tanking an execution's grade because it simply, knowingly, and obviously left realism at the door to pull some magical anime nonsense, change the metric to a 12/12 for the execution instead? This way the Realism grade can focus on when the executions defy realism whilst still trying to come off as a realistic move a real life warrior could do, such as the infamous "Scabbard Through The Head" one.
Through the head would have been better if he threw the sword and just the sword still not realistic, but damn why the scabbard
Rigor Mortis?
Rigor Mortis doesn’t start setting in until 2 hours after death and doesn’t complete until about 6 to 8 hours afterwards.
Id say overall 60
kyoshin=one piece fujitora
Your issues with the sheathing and unsheathing make no sense. Kyoshin's entire design is based around sheathing and resheathing.
Yes, and? This video was not about what they were ‘designed’ for.
Shouldn't reverse grip holding take away points from either efficiency or cool factor, not realism? Although it wasn't the most efficient way to use a sword people did use it that way and it was definitely possible to do, so it should be fully realistic just not efficient or since you dislike it not as cool.
Realism looks at if the execution was possible to do in the manner it was in real life. Reverse grip takes away from the cutting potential in the strike. For this reason, I find it less likely that the kyoshin could cut deeply enough to get a kill like this.
@@RavenKnightYT fair enough, although I'd still argue it should take away from efficiency because he could have made all of those slashes easier and deeper (and imo cooler) with a normal grip.
After all the time i spent playing kyoshin, i will never use the scabbard head execution. its just so dumb
