  • As the 2-week deadline looms for the first sitting of the new South African National Assembly following a historic election where the governing ANC lost its outright majority, we ask how far are coalition talks and if the ANC can pull off its proposed Government of National Unity?

No one forced you to vote, so let the people with more brain discuss these matters because this is a dialog between those who voted with the leaders they voted for. Rrlax citizens who voted are busy holding these leaders accountable. ANC should make a Government of National Unity with those that are ready to work it including the DA and other progressive fronts. Whoever is not interested, should stay out of the grand coalition. The parties that have refused to join will have themselves to blame. Ramaphosa must ride above the noise, take charge with all other progressive parties and marshall South Africas problems with a collective agreement on a way forward with timeliness to prosperity and glory.

DA started the division when it said it wont work with certain parties like EFF then and MK lately and PA, they need to eat their words and apologise for labelling others players public enemies. I think they were not responsible. They should find a different way of expressing that. We need matured politics who should have communication departments which should ventilate their proposals and visions in a manner which brings cohension. Mixing water and oil does not work. Its not a matter of numbers but cohension. Public service is priority here...

I am puzzled why these parties are obsessed with ideology. South Africa problems for the next 2-5 years is to fix basic infrastructure. Provide water to the people, improve sanitation, fix the roads, improve healthcare, bring back vocational education, fix the SOEs, sell SAA it’s off no use to a majority of South Africans. If there’s still money build hosing. You can’t grow the economy without a working infrastructure, after that they can worry about ideology, by that time it will be 2029 elections :-). For now the country needs technocrats to fix the broken infrastructure.

The Best Coalition is one that will undoubtedly improve the Economy.. restore market confidence and increase foreign investment... if we can increase employment.. move people out of welfare (R350) and into decent paying jobs.. even if it is minimum wage for the majority of unskilled workers.. it will automatically restore DIGNITY amongst millions.. and when people have economic relief .. there is an opportunity for joy which can transcend to peace and harmony.. stability and growth. I think the promoters of the social justice ideologies and foreign issues are honestly bad actors who are aware of what could make this country better, but will ride the radical ideology wave AGAINST the best interests of a South African Born Citizen who are accorded every human right.. irrespective of colour.💖

    1) In 1994 GNU meant to end apartheid oppression.
    2) In 2024 GNU must be formed to confront and solve inequalities, poverty, lawlessness and influx of foreigners.
Ramaphosa played an instrumental role in 1994 to help form the GNU which made him rich, protected white apartheid economy and created a black Bourgeoisie class which is aloof of the suffering of the majority. Fast forward 2024 Ramaphosa cost the ANC its majority, lost 22% of votes since 2020 and seek to direct the ANC to serve white Capital again.

People are always going on about their municipalities are best run, but ignore all the issues around their municipalities as well. DA is quick to claim victories, and quick to point the finger to someone else when things are bad. Look at the irregular expenditure they had in Tshwane.

We have an opportunity to be influential as a country and become a model for most countries to learn from. I see this multi government as a huge opportunity for our people.🇿🇦

ANC can not do that as they are not majority. Remember if all oppositions come together, they have 60% and can form a government of national unity without ANC. Days of bullying, because you are majority, are gone.

My observation: large group of people did not vote for a particular party, but rather out of fear for another party to come in. PA is different, because it has a great leader FOR which people actually voted.
    Let me explain:
    1. Many people voted DA because they were afraid if they don't then the EFF will come in and potentially destroy this country's economy.
    2. Many people voted ANC/EFF because they were afraid if the DA gets too strong they will end up with another apartheid under a white leader.
People are afraid. And their fears blinds them to reality.
I currently see only one strong party leader that rose up with INTEGRITY and that is Gayton.
I did not vote for him, I did not vote. I observe from the side and see. I agree with Gayton that a DA/ANC Coalition is a great danger for South Africa, and let me add: especially when the next planned pestilence is released and they want to poison us all with you-know-what and take away all our freedom to become their slave cattle and monitor our every move - wake up people, we cannot allow that. DA was the worst when it came to pushing people to take the snake poison during the practise run pestilence which will be nothing compared to the next one the evil ones plan on releasing. In this election the DA gathered votes by playing on the fear of the people if a wreckless leader like Malema may come and destroy everything that was built up in this country, whilst they themselves are the greatest threat to us all while being deeply in the pockets of the evil globalist so called "elites" and paving the way towards enforcing their evil agendas.
The DA is FOR the Zionists and have their interests at heart, NOT YOURS.

Hopefully the outcome leans to each party firstly upholding the needs of the people per se.
We want changes in investors and employment. We want very clean well run municipalities where small towns become lucrative as employment hubs and where money comes in and is spent.
A multi party means that each party will have the opportunity to watchdog…take to task the actions of those employed by the people to do the job properly.

The results are perfect as they are, they should go to parliament as the results portray present policies not along coalition lines but along majority rules principles. Each party will present it's case thus it's stands a chance for it's policies to prevail if it manages to convince the majority not already decided choices like Phalaphala matter.

A government of National Unity will be a monumental failure because parliament will be a continued circus with the left and right keeping the center distracted and paralyzed. The differences between the left and right are unreconciable. The answer is an alliance of parties that are able to deliver improved lives for the voters. The function of government is to manage resources to benefit the voters.

The best thing that the ANC can do for international relations is to work with all parties. To demonstrate true peace by working together. It's one thing to back Palestine but it's another thing if you have the lived experience on how to resolve the middle east issues by living in harmony with your fellow citizens. The saying goes' you can only give what you have. You cannot give to others what you don't have'
